- My year in 2018 was a different from previous years. A year of learning, growing, and reflection. Although at times it didn't feel as exciting and adventurous as my other years, I've looked back to what has been my most intimate and introspective year of my life.

I'm glad to be back and able to share this with you. It's been a different year from before, I haven't been on UA-cam as much as I was before, but I had time to create and work on longer projects and reflect back on my more personal moments. There are Stories, and there are Storytellers, there are Photo's and there are Photographers. There are Movies, and then there are Cinemas. You Sir, have ascended above the "Run of the mill Film Maker". You have an extraordinary talent! Not only are you an "Excellent" Photographer, You and your pictures have the ability to tell such "Touching" and "Moving" Stories.
Your next challenge, Giovanni, will be to tell someone else's stories and make them as moving and touching as you have done with your own. Keep up the GREAT WORK my friend!!!!!!!

Hey Gio, I don’t usually comment and I don’t think I’ve ever commented on one of your videos. I’ve been subscribed and watched your videos from the start (it’s been 3 or 4 years) and I’ve seen you grow from a high school student to now and it’s been incredible! I just think it’s so fascinating how we change so much and how time flies by. I wanted to say thank you for documenting your life! It gives me inspiration and hope to live my own, and also casts a bright light on life itself. Lol nothings wrong with my life I’m just kinda young (17) and seeing things like these and reflecting on it gives me a great feeling and makes me happy. So.... THANK YOU GIO!

I imagine it’s crazy being able to see a life throughout four years, in a way I haven’t had too much separation from my work to look back at it but my older videos are starting to serve as great memories and insights into personal moments in time. this video felt so intimate, idk how to describe. art? i wouldn’t classify many videos on this site into that category but this one just... you capture life in a way that genuine. and i don’t see that much. vlogs, travel vids, everything like that never has that genuine quality. but this, and your past videos, hold a real- yet modest- perspective on your life. you find the beauty anywhere you go. and that’s something i really admire because it not only shows in your videos but also in you. your ability to capture people is profound.

I was wondering if you were going to make one for 2018, because your 2016 and 2017 recaps are some of my favorite videos on UA-cam, period. This was well worth the wait! Your films are so inspiring and well-made. And ending with the same song you started your 2016 video with...THAT WAS POWERFUL. I've watched your videos so many times I memorized where that song played. haha. You are a master storyteller and filmmaker.

At first I was thinking about not making one because I didn’t think I did enough to justify one, but thinking about it I realized it would serve as a good way to communicate my thoughts and feelings! I've literally been watching this video a couple times a week. This video just makes me so happy, and it feels very honest and genuine. The music always gets me haha. Excellent video my man. More specifically, the pace was perfect. I particularly enjoyed your filming of low light throughout the piece. How'd you manage such crisp low light with the GH4? Does the Voitlander really make that big of a difference?
It’s the voigtlanders yes! They’re very very very much on the edge of most the situations when there’s barely any light there’s still a bit of light, but it’s just enough for the edge of the super low light situations!

Yes man, I believe slow motion is an easy way to make things look beautiful/cinematic. And usually because it’s so easy it becomes a crutch. Making things look nice but without any deeper thought about why slow motion is being used to support the story and narrative being told on screen :)

@@giobrahh I know you are using a GH5 and a GH4 and I was asking my self do you love the ibis on the GH5 or you prefer the GH4 whitout the ibis (not talking about image quality but more about the non stabilize look). I know you are using a shoulder rig and sometime the gh5 ibis can make some weird stuff. :p Thanks
