the best part about these fight scenes is him gradually running out of breath and stamina to the point where is swings are heavier and he grips to a wall/floor to grab a few second break. It's realistic and I'm glad they incorporated that into the choreography often

The inclusion of the taped gun and the chain from the previous scene make it into an actual set piece instead of just any fight scene. A lot of suspension of disbelief though, since so few of these guys have guns, considering they were bikers reacting to a freaking rocket launcher.

Honestly every season of it is fantastic, especially season 2 when Punisher is introduced before he got his own show. Most of the hallway fights are done in a single take too after the director took inspiration from Tony Jaa in The Defender.
Matt knocking out the lights probably serves two purposes. One, it keeps the enemy in the dark so they can’t see. Matt doesn’t have that problem. And Two, the lights probably emit at least a low hum for him, given the heightened hearing. Knocking them out probably makes it just a little easier and hearing his enemies a little clearer.
When it comes to pain threshold DD's is right up there with Frank Castle and Moon Knight, if he's still breathing he's still fighting. I always thought Hornhead would make a great Green Lantern if he were a DC character, he's got Hal Jordan levels of willpower.

The reason I lean there a little more is even though he's pissed off all the time the green ring fits so well with his name scheme even. Though red would fit better with his look honestly he's also one of the few heroes I could see with more than one ring. Specifically being both of these however since red is all-consuming he would probably have to keep blue around as well since it supercharges green and keeps red in check. Plus even in the darkest time he always seems to hold out hope ironically enough as a supposed devil. But would only probably keep it around the keep the red in check and to power up his green ring. Now that I think about it a lantern with 3 rings and Daredevil of all people would be super badass and these 3 all combine so well together too. Plus as a multi-ring user blue would also fit really well as it makes green unfocused with the charge and he's blind so that's almost too ironic.

Little fact. Daredevil's chain is CG the entire time... it was matchmoved, hand animated then finally run through a dynamic sim to make it move more naturally. Him and the baddies were also painstakingly matchmoved so the chain would bounce off of them realistically instead of piercing through them.
one thing i love about this scene and others like it in particular is the stunt double and Charlie cox makes the fighting look easy for a blind man, but you can tell he starts to stumble a bit, when he has the slight chance to take a deep breath he does, it just adds a sort of realism that other superhero medias don't show and its worth it

From the themes, symbolism to the good writing and fight choreography it really checks off everything that makes a good tv show. Season 1, Season 2, The Defenders, and Season 3 is the Daredevil story. I personally liked The Defenders especially with Jessica Jones and Matt Murdocks scenes lol

Adding the armoured suit really allows them to up the ante in the fights and stay believable and realistic. Apparently it was 11 stunt performers playing multiple bikers coming at him.
The fact Daredevil used massive long single takes with no cuts for so many fights is insane. Imagine doing all that choreography around the camera operator having to manoeuvre around it. Absolutely insane.

That's the thing about Matt Murdock, his base is boxing that he learned from watching his dad's fights. So his fighting style is very grounded and street-ish, since he came from the bad side of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Hoping to see Karate Combat reactions since Max likes Muay Thai fights and UFC.
This is the second video with a Daredevil fight I've watched today only the other one had him fighting the villain Thunderball and Ash Williams shows up with his chainsaw for a hand so Daredevil attacks him thinking he's a new member of the Wrecking Crew. Thunderball and Ash kill Daredevil brutally then shake hands and become pals. Ash is always fucking up, he gets The Punisher killed when he runs off with all his guns during a horde attack. Okay, I admit, that was funny. It's part of the Evil Dead vs Marvel Zombies series, fun read, everybody's variants die over and over again because multiverses. This needs to be a movie just for the scene of Spider-Man tearing Aunt May's head off and eating her face.
Mostly incorrect. Doing these for more power is really unreliable since the flips take so much energy and are somewhat difficult to perform. He would only be able to do these a few times before he would tire out and be beaten quickly, these are quick flair moves. In the UFC Michael Peirera does do back flips on his opponents when they are on the ground but they are never finishing moves, they are mostly to get him attention and to intimmidate his opponent. The landing will be painful but it isn't going to be damaging unless you happen to perfectly land it in the liver, solar plexis, nuts, or the face. The problem is that it's extremely hard to aim your landings which makes them even less practical.
Most of these shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Defenders, etc) were really well done. Iron Fist probably has some of the weaker story elements, but helps to fully get the Defenders series. Plus it has drunken boxing in it. Luke Cage season 2 has Capoeira in it too. The fact that tertiary characters weave through each series is great too.
Iron Fist season one they didn't have as good a fight choreographer and they didn't give Finn Jones as much time to go through the process as they did the other stars on the other shows. Season 2 they got the fight choreographer from winter soldier I think and he got WAY better. Only reason it got cancelled was because they were pulling all the marvel shows from netflix.
Scene should have ended with Frank waking up in the elevator, and in another "oner" he makes his way back up the stairs executing everyone that Murdoch had incapacitated. BTW 0 - 0:50 Charlie Cox 0:50 - 1:22 Stunt Double 1:22 - 1:34 Charlie 1:34 - 1:57 Double 1: 57 - 1:59 Charlie (I was iffy on this one, but I glean a seamless transition for his close up, to really sell it.) 1:59 - 2:07 Doubled up 2:07 - 2:17 Charlie 2:17 - 2:43 Double (Again, though, I think I see a cut around the 2:30 mark, but that doesn't mean it's the actor) 2:43 - 3:19 Charlie 3:19 - 3:29 Double (though it is spliced on the flip.) 3:29 - 3:50 I'm going to say Charlie (they let him do some stunts here!) 3:51 - 4:35 For some reason it seems like a lot of room was left for edits in this last segment, but it all looks like the work of a double to me. Maybe they thought they would get more direct shots of his face, and when it didn't work out that way they decided not to bother. What's cool is the few moments where they probably swap places within the same shot. Movie magic!
Once it dawns on you that ever shot he takes with his right hand, isn't actually his hand, but the revolver he has taped in his hand..... then the brutality sinks in. Pistol-whipping some mfers.
The stairwell fight scene is amazing, better than most, but it doesn't quite measure up to the hallway fight from season 1. That was near unmatched. This makes me want to rewatch the entire Marvel Netflix saga for about the hundredth time.
Awesome. Great insight. Always think the monkey climbing tree move would be difficult to land but look fucking awesome if it happened 🤣. Would highly recommend watching Daredevil. All 3 seasons are truly phenomenal and it is honestly one of the best shows ever made with some of the best fight scenes put to screen. I would also recommend breaking down the fight scenes of Daredevil going up against the villain Nobu, a master ninja who fights Daredevil in seasons 1 & 2. Their fights are really bloody and brutal but have a lot more flair and acrobatics to them compared to the hallway scenes. Also, recommend checking out the final fight of the season 2 finale.
The flying or jumping elbow is what it's commonly called. The climbing tree part is about stepping up on them to do it, but it is really the same as the flying elbow in all reality, it's a Muay Thai technique. It's actually not that difficult to land since it doesn't expend a ton of energy and the motions are easy, the difficult part is getting your opponent into a position where you can apply the motions.
If you love action martial arts, héroes daredevil is a must see, and have one of the most charismatics villains in historia, the king pin by Vincent donofrio.
I think this commented this scene 3 times now, so this'll be the last time. Each season of Daredevil has one hallway long take fight scene. You have yet to watch the one in the season 3, so definitely get on that!

That's the thing about Matt Murdock, his base is boxing that he learned from watching his dad's fights. So his fighting style is very grounded and street-ish, since he came from the bad side of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Hoping to see Karate Combat reactions since Max likes Muay Thai fights and UFC.

This scene wasn't actually done in one shot, but, the cuts were so artfully disguised, it looks like one.

This is the second video with a Daredevil fight I've watched today only the other one had him fighting the villain Thunderball and Ash Williams shows up with his chainsaw for a hand so Daredevil attacks him thinking he's a new member of the Wrecking Crew. Thunderball and Ash kill Daredevil brutally then shake hands and become pals. Ash is always fucking up, he gets The Punisher killed when he runs off with all his guns during a horde attack. Okay, I admit, that was funny.
It's part of the Evil Dead vs Marvel Zombies series, fun read, everybody's variants die over and over again because multiverses. This needs to be a movie just for the scene of Spider-Man tearing Aunt May's head off and eating her face.
Also, every right-hand punch Daredevil throws is a pistol whip with that gun duct taped to his hand.
The back flip didn't just add flair; it put more of Daredevil's weight behind the strike. Looking cool was just a bonus
Mostly incorrect. Doing these for more power is really unreliable since the flips take so much energy and are somewhat difficult to perform. He would only be able to do these a few times before he would tire out and be beaten quickly, these are quick flair moves. In the UFC Michael Peirera does do back flips on his opponents when they are on the ground but they are never finishing moves, they are mostly to get him attention and to intimmidate his opponent. The landing will be painful but it isn't going to be damaging unless you happen to perfectly land it in the liver, solar plexis, nuts, or the face. The problem is that it's extremely hard to aim your landings which makes them even less practical.
Most of these shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Defenders, etc) were really well done. Iron Fist probably has some of the weaker story elements, but helps to fully get the Defenders series. Plus it has drunken boxing in it. Luke Cage season 2 has Capoeira in it too. The fact that tertiary characters weave through each series is great too.
Iron Fist season one they didn't have as good a fight choreographer and they didn't give Finn Jones as much time to go through the process as they did the other stars on the other shows. Season 2 they got the fight choreographer from winter soldier I think and he got WAY better. Only reason it got cancelled was because they were pulling all the marvel shows from netflix.
Scene should have ended with Frank waking up in the elevator, and in another "oner" he makes his way back up the stairs executing everyone that Murdoch had incapacitated.

What's cool is the few moments where they probably swap places within the same shot. Movie magic!

Once it dawns on you that ever shot he takes with his right hand, isn't actually his hand, but the revolver he has taped in his hand..... then the brutality sinks in. Pistol-whipping some mfers.
You should watch the final fight with him and Kingpin from the first season.
Next, checkout the prison fight scene in season 3.
The stairwell fight scene is amazing, better than most, but it doesn't quite measure up to the hallway fight from season 1. That was near unmatched. This makes me want to rewatch the entire Marvel Netflix saga for about the hundredth time.
Awesome. Great insight. Always think the monkey climbing tree move would be difficult to land but look fucking awesome if it happened 🤣. Would highly recommend watching Daredevil. All 3 seasons are truly phenomenal and it is honestly one of the best shows ever made with some of the best fight scenes put to screen. I would also recommend breaking down the fight scenes of Daredevil going up against the villain Nobu, a master ninja who fights Daredevil in seasons 1 & 2. Their fights are really bloody and brutal but have a lot more flair and acrobatics to them compared to the hallway scenes. Also, recommend checking out the final fight of the season 2 finale.
The flying or jumping elbow is what it's commonly called. The climbing tree part is about stepping up on them to do it, but it is really the same as the flying elbow in all reality, it's a Muay Thai technique. It's actually not that difficult to land since it doesn't expend a ton of energy and the motions are easy, the difficult part is getting your opponent into a position where you can apply the motions.
iron fist has some of the best and most brutal fight scenes i have ever seen on a marvel property
I managed to pull off "monkey running up the tree" in a play fight, accidentally used full force on the guy... I was maybe 14 or 15 at the time.
Check out the Punisher prison fight. His military skill set makes it a very unique fight.
Charlie cox actually does a lot of the stunts on the show, including all the hallway fights
If you love action martial arts, héroes daredevil is a must see, and have one of the most charismatics villains in historia, the king pin by Vincent donofrio.
