No, each season of the show was a season in the world. It started in winter, then ended at the end of summer. Remember that the episode with Roku was the Winter Solstice
Something I realized with re-watching this season got me disappointed we didn't see more of: - The main thing is how the swamp-bender tribe is now. The Florida-people of the Avatar Universe just living in like trailers and houseboats and Mad Max looking shack-forts. Compared to like the camps on the dirt they lived in and the leaves and bark they wore as clothing, I'd say it's a glow-up. Also, inducting them into the Water Tribes would be nice. - These next two things have to do with Kuvira's map of conquest, but for one thing Kyoshi Island. - The second thing was Omashu - In short, I'm just disappointed we didn't ever return to Kyoshi Island or Omashu after Aang's time. A memorial of Bumi and Earth Kingdom soldiers and diplomats occupying the territory and claiming it while trying to erase Bumi from history, labelling the mad king as a traitor, Aang would be furious. Or even just Kuvira's army rolling up and gentrifying the place. Kyoshi Island I'm just surprised fell into disarray after the Earth Queen died, they seemed like they were doing fine for the longest time, even during the 100 year war.
Has anybody ever noticed how real that dog looked like? I mean, it didn't looked at all like one of the regular chimeras we see in the Avatar world, but a IRL dog! Bosco was rare enough to become Earth King's pet, but what about that thing? How did that spirit thought to turn into that thing?
Didn’t we see regular cats in avatar as well? Like the ones at Aangs “tales of ba sing sa” segment when he built that new zoo and he accidentally caged up a few normal pet cats.
One thing I really like about this episode The realistic depiction of the frustrations for those who have been crippled and trying to undergo physical therapy to recover. I've helped a few family members who've had strokes and they feel a lot of anger at themselves and become depressed over their belief that they failed everyone around them And they get really ticked that they need help to do anything now, meanwhile friends and family seem to be progressing in their lives
The problem was she didnt have Guru Patik there to help her open her chakras. She wouldve had to confront everything shes been through. Where was her Guru?
I'm not sure that she needed to do that. She didn't have to learn anything about chakras or herself for her to get control of the avatar state. So I'm not sure they will be of any real help besides understanding herself better. If anything, I don't think she could ever master her chakras. We assume it's a simple task because Aang did it in a day. But he was also a monk, and the airbenders are known for being crazy spiritual. So in reality it could take a none spiritual person years, if ever.
@@tylerrushford7609 i get what you're saying. It's not the chakras that are important. it was the spiritual journey that forced aang to confront the issues that caused him mental anguish. Fear, Shame, guilt, grief, lies, and illusions. If Korra had gone through the same journey she would've been able to deal with her mental condition. Then again, if we knew that it was Mercury poisioning then thats probably what caused the "madness" ie Mad Hatter Syndrome.
That was her biggest thing; she needed guidance. Aang was already wise but had ppl to guide him in every endeavor essentially. Korra I dont believe had someone to help her spiritually or so forth

@@tommorgan9073 some people just dont like season 2. doesnt really make sense to interpret them hopping a band wagon when theyre watching naked in one succession. the real reason the series gets a bunch of hate is because some of the most popular reviews that pick the series apart focus on seasons 1 and 2 and that became the way to understand korra for the longest time until very recently where more content creators started defending the series.

6:21... technically aang was flyimg in the avatar state... twice matterafact. Once with azula in Ba Sing Se when he got shot with lightning, and when he was fighting ozai. I guess you truly have to be free of the physical world before you can do it
idk if anyone ever said this but at the start of the season that fire move @ 7:52 showed how strong and fierce of a fighter korra was , now it shows her being scared and helpless and not being able to defend or fight for herself , that’s sum good writing right there , applause to the avatar writers
@@Uh_0h_zilla my point is you really don't have to be smart in this case. The most basic writing includes showing either the grow or fall of a character and parallel them to what they were before. And I'm no writer I can tell you that much.
I can’t believe they didn’t notice the Easter egg: When Toph says “It’s nice to see you again Twinkle Toes” it’s a reference to the “The Avatar and the Fire Lord” episode when she asks Aang if he really believes that friendships can transcend life. ❤
Anng was able to fly just like zaheer, but only for a brief moment. during the fight in de old Basin se, he opened his last chakra by letting go of Katara, he entered the avatar state and started levitating, and in the animation doesnt look like he is using a basic airbender tecnic to levitate, after that Azula kills him blocking his ability to enter to the avatar state and to levitate
It’s so cool how everything gets brought full circle this season. By this point we’ve seen every main character in ATLA as an oldie... and this episode really reflects Korra as a character and her development over the time gap. This is one of the many reasons I love ATLA and LOK
@@yukijames1321 Aang literally went on a similar path iirc in terms of listening to the advice of the past avatars, he relied on their knowledge a lot and often took what they said to be fact and the way things should be, but eventually he realizes in the post series comics that he can choose whatever path he wants regardless of what his past lives think and he rejects the advice of Roku even. So I genuinely don’t really have a problem with them mcguffining away Korra’s connection to the past avatars, I just don’t think they would’ve made a difference in her journey at all or aided her character growth.
It felt unnecessary dark for the sake of forcing Korra her own way. I’m more mad at the writers then Korra as a character. Like they wanted Korra to not rely so much on past lives, but they did not need to permanently erase the avatars to do it, they should have done what Aang did in the comics when he disagreed with Roku, he finally decided to cut ties with him and went on to do his own thing with relying on the past avatars. Korra could’ve done the same thing, wanting to shape her own path rather then what the other avatars wanted, killing them off was just shock value for the sake of shock value.
@@yukijames1321 the lore still exists. Its just a new cycle with have ties to itself. Why would you want Aang, Kyoshi and so on constantly restating their own trials and hardships into the current Avatars dilemma(always overshadow the presence of them in their own series/journey)? @@christianvictor4125 her whole story is character development. Korra literally based her whole existence on being the avatar and she faced three villains that tried to take that from her. Amon took her bending, Unalaq severed her connection with the past avatars, and Zaheer almost ended the avatar in whole. This season was her learning about what being the avatar really is and that there’s more to the job than just bending
When Korra makes the little flame in her hand to see Toph, the wrapping reaches to the palm of her hand. In the next shot, it only reaches to her wrist.
Bruh how long are Lupa and Roshi gonna keep trashing on Korra for loosing her connections with the past avatars? Are we gonna pretend Unaluq dosen't exist? Or that Aang made mistake's too? Are they really gonna ignore all the good Korra's done for the world?
Like really, she had to fight the literall opposite force/being to the Avatar, something only Wan had to face, and with Korra Unaluq was added to that conflict. But she is trash? Korra has faced bigger threats than any Avatar, one after another.
Ppl tend to remember all the bad stuff and the mistakes u make over the good things you do. It's a human thing kinda minds me of my mom in that way. It's not surprising though majority of the ones who hated on korra were dudes.
I just realize how much it sucks to not be able to tell yourself hallucinations aren't real due to all the spiritual things that happen, it must hard to distinguish between them what is & what isn't just your mind or if it actual spirit visions
It must have just been me but I found this episode so sad. I felt so bad for Korra - she's really been trying her best and keeps having to battle all of these people (I would even say she's had a harder time with villains than in ATLA)
I get so heated. Like holy shit, do they think Aang could have beat any of the villian korra faced. I also got really mad when they were laughing at Korra for getting clapped this episode, like she obviously has PTSD and they even mentioned it.
Lupa is mean sometimes, he always making jokes about that and saying Korra is the worst avatar just because of her past lives while Shera is so empathic with her, she understands Korra and her pain.
Man if this episode and the season 3 finale did nothing to garner even a shred of sympathy for korra and what she's struggling with, I honestly don't think anything will. Really disheartening to see you guys continue to bash her, even at her lowest point. Like did they bash Aang when he failed to save the earth kingdom at the end of book 2? Or how about when the day of black sun invasion failed? Part of what makes characters fascinating is their successes, failures, struggles and everything in between. Korra's not a perfect avatar, neither were kyoshi, roku, aang or the ones who came before them. And that's what makes them interesting characters imo.
The issue is that Korra as a person isn't very likeable to a lot of people. How often do you think about the good points about people you personally dislike?
Aang's pose in the fishmonger's picture is similar to the one he assumed for his air marbles trick in "The Warriors of Kyoshi". Toph refers to Korra as "Twinkle Toes", a nickname she gave to Aang when they first met. Korra has a sparring match against White Lotus firebenders, much like she did in "Welcome to Republic City". Something I realized with re-watching this season got me disappointed we didn't see more of:
- The main thing is how the swamp-bender tribe is now.
- The second thing was Omashu
- In short, I'm just disappointed we didn't ever return to Kyoshi Island or Omashu after Aang's time.
When toph said nice to see u again twinkle toes always gets me 😭🥺
Has anybody ever noticed how real that dog looked like? I mean, it didn't looked at all like one of the regular chimeras we see in the Avatar world, but a IRL dog! Bosco was rare enough to become Earth King's pet, but what about that thing? How did that spirit thought to turn into that thing?
Yeah wtf i never noticed, that's so weird.
Didn’t we see regular cats in avatar as well? Like the ones at Aangs “tales of ba sing sa” segment when he built that new zoo and he accidentally caged up a few normal pet cats.

It’s so cool how everything gets brought full circle this season. By this point we’ve seen every main character in ATLA as an oldie... and this episode really reflects Korra as a character and her development over the time gap. This is one of the many reasons I love ATLA and LOK
I genuinely don't get why people are so mad the past connections got erased.
It was made such a big deal in the first series and people don't like change/ are anal about petty things 🤷♂️
