Great video a real gem. I beleive this is "68 when they very briefly used on Paddington to Birmingham.route . But teliability soon caught up wih them. Ive seen pictures of Undaunted in BNS at this tome as well. Spotting ias a kid from the early 80,s seeing Warships in BNS seems like a ufo has landed. The only things missing from this film is sound. But a gem of film thanks for sharing.
I was a trainspotting nipper in the mid - late 1960's and never saw any of the 'Warships' when they were operating in the 1960's. Many years later, on a train passing through Derby I had my only sighting of the type at RCD, long after my spotting days had finished. However, it did instill a sense of wonder even then!
Brilliant! Had seen the Strongbow clip before which was always very close to home for me as I copped my first warship at BNS in November 67 and it was Strongbow. But to see Pathfinder and Swift too …. Thank you so much for sharing!
Even thought I was "spotting" at New st at the time the Warships were being seen there, I never saw one. But, one rolled up on an empty cartic at "Wash Yer feet" I stood for ages in the rain on Bromford lane over bridge waiting for it to drop down so I could get the number, it didn't, so I was bowled out. In the early 70s it wasn't unusual to see a Western on the same/similar turn, or even to see them light running thru Bromford. Great Vid... Thanks for sharing!
Great stuff, though some sound would be nice. Some of the NBL warships were allocated briefly to Bescot for maintenance (1968/9?) though not Tyseley the ex WR depot.

Sorry to mention but although used on Paddington to Bns. They where routed in Marylebone due to relsying track work at Paddington
