Ok, guys, these are the facts: only a week ago I had no clue who Babymetal was. Now I'm sitting here listening to them while buying merchandise and tickets for their next show on June in Barcelona! I just wish I have found them years ago!! In my discharge I must say that I have been a hardcore metalhead for 30 years and I got kinda bored with the routines of life and so. Now there is a new light, a breathe fresh air which I'm enjoying so much! I still don't know how to describe this feeling... I think it takes time to get you used to it but, damn, I like it a lot!

I had a hard time finding just one modern day Heavy Metal Band that I like. I'm still rocking my Judas Priest Screaming For Vengeance album...until I somehow found BabyMetal on UA-cam in April 2022. 11 months now and BabyMetal is the primary Metal Music I'm listening to.
Sorry I am so late joining the party! I think most people are watching "Gimme Chocolate" and "Karate" when they first hear of Babymetal, which is great because both are very strong songs. But to me, Headbanger quickly became one of my favorite songs. Babymetal has a lot of "gems" once you really start to listen. It just takes a little time to get past the shocked feelings you have when you first experience them. After the shock you start to appreciate the music and performances a lot more. Babymetal fan for life :)
This was the first time they had costumes designed specifically for them. Before that, they had been pretty much just shopping in Harajuku. : ) Su also mentioned in a commentary about this video, that it was the first time she had ever worn the sailor-style kind of school uniform. Both her real school and Sakura Gakuin had the Ivy blazer and plaid skirt type of school outfit.

No offense to the many "english speaking" bands I love and listen to. But none of them have taken the time and worked out their choreography to the point of bouncing all over the stage and still keeping their singing voice tones consistent

Yup Metal had gotten sooo stale that i moved on to discover other genres and BabyMetal brought me back! Its like coming back home to a warm blanket. I love Su and Moa and now Riho but Yui is truly missed....hope the Fox gods can guide her back home too....

I did not read the comments about Babymetal being addictive before listening to their music. I have given myself headaches from headbanging to their music, taken my migraine meds, then put their songs on repeat so I can rock out. It really is an obsession that I don't see myself breaking free of any time soon.

Their second album is not bad either. In fact, many critics believe it to be one of the best sophomoric (second) albums ever released. In it, it shows the clear proof of the maturation of both Babymetal as well as the Kami Band in their evolving musical talents. It is not as "cutesy" for the most part as the first album was, but it is undoubtedly maintaining the kawaii metal genre that Babymetal initially created.
I've known about BABYMETAL for a while but never really started listening to them. But going back to these old videos and seeing them as actual children is crazy.
I listen to babymetal so much. Probably comfort music no matter how intense it is! My dad introduced me to babymetal back in 2022 and I’ve been hooked ever since!

KOBAMETAL is such a genius. He recognized Suzuka's enormous talent and saw how that talent could be lost in just a mere J-Pop environment. The visionary that he is gave him the courage to create a concept that was not only unprecedented but in reality, illogical, all to showcase Su's talent. Yui, Moa as well as the Kami Band are the perfect icing on that cake of brilliance. It just does not get better than this.
+rubber band Well, they were already robots the instant they signed up to be j-pop idols. Personally, I much prefer them reassigned this role. I think the combination of the three of them together is absolutely perfect and I can't imagine anyone else. Pop (or even classical) vocals on top of heavy metal isn't anything new (a quick youtube search should find at least 10 other bands that attempt the same thing), but none of the ones that I know of have tried experimenting with the cuteness of idols and the lightheartedness of j-pop (Maximum the Horomone is the closest that I can think of). Also, Suzuka's vocals are quite pleasing.
Suzuka is one hell of a singer, and Moa and Yui are great at hyping up the crowd, they're so energetic. Plus, Kami Band has a better Djent than 90% of the Metalcore/Deathcore bands nowadays. RIP Fujioka Mikio, left this world too soon.
Kobametal’s genius is in recognizing talent and amassing a horde of talented people into an amazing act. Each and every member of the project is a star in his or her own right. Each act is the result of writers, dancers, choreographer, light show, crowd management, working together to delight the audience.

Hearing this live for the first time one year ago felt like an initiation ritual, although that was already my 3rd show😅I had been dying to hear Headbanger live and when I saw it on the tour setlist I shrieked. Ok, guys, these are the facts: only a week ago I had no clue who Babymetal was. Now I'm sitting here listening to them while buying merchandise and tickets for their next show on June in Barcelona!
I just wish I have found them years ago!! In my discharge I must say that I have been a hardcore metalhead for 30 years and I got kinda bored with the routines of life and so. Now there is a new light, a breathe fresh air which I'm enjoying so much! I still don't know how to describe this feeling... I think it takes time to get you used to it but, damn, I like it a lot!

I went to their concert last year and when this song was about to end where the guitars go crazy, everyone started jumping and cheering so I started jumping too, but I accidentally stepped on someone’s shoes that was behind me. I was very embarrassed

Sorry I am so late joining the party! I think most people are watching "Gimme Chocolate" and "Karate" when they first hear of Babymetal, which is great because both are very strong songs. But to me, Headbanger quickly became one of my favorite songs. Babymetal has a lot of "gems" once you really start to listen. It just takes a little time to get past the shocked feelings you have when you first experience them. After the shock you start to appreciate the music and performances a lot more. Babymetal fan for life :)

I have given myself headaches from headbanging to their music, taken my migraine meds, then put their songs on repeat so I can rock out.

Their second album is not bad either. In fact, many critics believe it to be one of the best sophomoric (second) albums ever released. In it, it shows the clear proof of the maturation of both Babymetal as well as the Kami Band in their evolving musical talents. It is not as "cutesy" for the most part as the first album was, but it is undoubtedly maintaining the kawaii metal genre that Babymetal initially created.
Tawnku Imi-Uru I think of Metal Resistance as their second "greatest hits" album. : )

If you haven't already looked up their ages, they are Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto - lead singer, born 12/20/1997), Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno, born 6/20/1999), and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi, born on 7/4/1999).
At the time this music video was posted, Yui and Moa were 13 and Su was still only 14.
They are touring the USA next month (May 2018). Many of the venues are already sold out, but there are still some tickets left in some cities.

KOBAMETAL is such a genius. He recognized Suzuka's enormous talent and saw how that talent could be lost in just a mere J-Pop environment. The visionary that he is gave him the courage to create a concept that was not only unprecedented but in reality, illogical, all to showcase Su's talent. Yui, Moa as well as the Kami Band are the perfect icing on that cake of brilliance. It just does not get better than this.

Well, they were already robots the instant they signed up to be j-pop idols. Personally, I much prefer them reassigned this role. I think the combination of the three of them together is absolutely perfect and I can't imagine anyone else. Pop (or even classical) vocals on top of heavy metal isn't anything new (a quick youtube search should find at least 10 other bands that attempt the same thing), but none of the ones that I know of have tried experimenting with the cuteness of idols and the lightheartedness of j-pop (Maximum the Horomone is the closest that I can think of). Also, Suzuka's vocals are quite pleasing.

Suzuka is one hell of a singer, and Moa and Yui are great at hyping up the crowd, they're so energetic. Plus, Kami Band has a better Djent than 90% of the Metalcore/Deathcore bands nowadays. RIP Fujioka Mikio, left this world too soon.
Kobametal’s genius is in recognizing talent and amassing a horde of talented people into an amazing act. Each and every member of the project is a star in his or her own right. Each act is the result of writers, dancers, choreographer, light show, crowd management, working together to delight the audience.

I'm finally getting around to studying the lyrics for this song, and they are amazing! It's about a 15 year old going to their first concert and realizing that this moment will never come again.
+Jaime M When Suzuka turned 15 she performed the "night of the 15 remix" version during her birthday concert. When Yui and Moa turned 15 they sung this song as lead during the Legend Y and Legend M concerts. There is video of all 3 performances. I highly recommend you watch them. Totally epic!
