Today's concert marks the conclusion of one of the main
activities of Femfestival 2022. A music festival featuring female composers from all continents, where different styles and languages come together in one sound mosaic. We will listen to the pieces that the Competition's International Jury selected from about 80 competing scores. These works represent the deep creative research that, within the field of composition, is taking place globally. A meeting of cultures, mutual growth and improvement. This second edition of the Femfestival, in collaboration with Solferino Publishing House and the literary festival Inquiete, focuses on a theme dearest to our hearts. The competition notice required, in fact, musical works inspired by Dialogue, declined in all its aspects: dialogue in the personal relationships, between cultures, peoples, generations,
ethnicities, etc.
It becomes clear that even contemporary music, as we know it today, cannot ignore the dialogue between different cultures around the world and its relative contamination, seen as an enrichment of one's own tradition.
In this light, women can show the way, with their courage to open up and allow themselves to be enriched by different cultures. This generates something new, which also has political and social value
since multicultural dialogue can bring peace. The Femfestival becomes a place, both physical and virtual, where different ideas and cultures meet and relate in order to renew themselves.
Today, with emotion and gratitude, we wish to honor all the women composers from around the world who participated in the competition and in the other activities of this second edition of the festival. We wish we could name them all.
Once again this year their enthusiasm and participation have confirmed that we are on the right path.
