I love that he doesn't pick on movies for being movies and taking advantage of the fact that they can do things in movies they couldn't do otherwise. In many cases he even encourages it (like the orange tree act thing in a different video, talking about why it was better that they didn't make it as done in real life). Also that he still finds things to talk about without explaining how every single act is done, only explaining things like "yeah that's just a back palm" and leaving more complicated things alone.
Who would have thought a Disney magic movie would have better and real magic tricks unlike bigger Hollywood movies say “now you see me” I actually love that these kids actually worked their ass off and learned these tricks made it such a better movie.
My son is in one scene(just background character. He filmed one day and left because it was quite chaotic on the set. It's still a nice movie though. My son said there were a lot of kids that had some good knowledge of magic tricks.
Hot dam!!! That was the best "Magician Reacts" video you have done so far. I mean they were all good but this one was my favorite. Wes I just can't get enough of your content. You are by far my favorite UA-camr. Love ya bro
Only way I can think of right now is involving a third person. When the the front of the cage gets covered you cannot see her hand for a brief moment so you could switch to a third person there. She then climbs out of the glass cage when the big curtain is in place and hides behind it so switch places with the boy to catch the curtain after he threw it up. While shoe folds the curtain up the boy and the third person switch places in the glass cage and she then reveals him being in there. As to how the third person gets in I am still a bit clueless.
@@frederickbraun2420 thinking its the assistants twin in a hidden compartment in the glass box. They switch for that second the hand is covered by the cloth, then its his hand holding the curtain up
This is why you're my new favorite magician. Even when you know how a trick is done, or even if it's one of your own tricks you still I have that sense of wonder. That sense of magic
Even though there was some helping hands thanks to Hollywood magic, it was mainly used to basically just clean things up which is fair enough seeing how these kids are actors, not professional magicians. And mad respect for using illusions which actually exist and are doable... They didn't go all crazy and start doing things that are physically impossible to do.. FULL STOP. it really adds to the authenticity of the film and makes it some what enjoyable. Really surprised they managed to pull it off, especially using a bunch of untrained kids who are actors 😲 Hats off for all involved 👌🏼
I love quick change : this one was practical, but I have seen them done so well, and I know the trick to it, it is just for some reason I always love them
I saw David Copperfield in the 80's and got his autograph. We lined up and he was sitting on top of a table so we had to reach up to get whatever signed. Ultimate power move. Next time you do autographs, think about sitting up on a table. Hahaha love your stuff. Keep it up.
Thanks for the recommendation! My 11yr old son and i watched it yesterday when he was home sick from school and he hasn't stopped talking about magic. He's now obsessed with card tricks and trying to learn the 6's and 9's slide and getting pretty good at it already.
Magic consultant: Chris Chelko is a Los Angeles based television producer specializing in talk, variety and stage shows most notably NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris & Little Big Shots starring Steve Harvey in addition to Magic For Humans with Justin Willman for Netflix and Nickelodeons America's Most Musical Family. He's serves as a consultant to many of the magicians and variety artists in TV, stage, film and the mainstream media. Additionally, he creates, develops and consults for companies who produce board games, puzzles, magic tricks, novelty items and playing cards for the retail market.
Lance Burton is the REASON I fell in love with magic as a child. We went to see him in Vegas and I was blown away. Not to mention that there was "boobies" Lol, as I called them back then. I was instantly hooked after seeing what he could do and the women. I have loved magic ever since that night in the late 80. I didn't start practicing until David Blaine made street and card magic popular in the 90s. Being from the same area in Brooklyn as him, he inspired me to start to learn finally, instead of just go to shows. Now in my late 30s and I still practice as much as I can, all because of Lance Burton and that first show I will never forget from like 1988/89.
After making hundreds of Quick Change outfits for Carbonaro, I can assure you that the girl who did the t shirt change 2x could have easily been done. She just wears 2 tear aways on top of each other and the shirt on the rack is like a copper silver coin.
Probably won't make it into a video because it doesn't need to, but there's a brief sponge ball trick in Elf when Buddy is eating cotton balls at the doctor's office.

The trick where the painting becomes a real man is possible with the 'blue room' illusion set up. The first time I saw this was on World's Greatest Magic. Something to check out.
I usually 0.5x the video speed when I wanna re watch any of the tricks. The dove one is dope and no animals were hurt. Hope you all are doing fantastic out there!!
The second shirt change reminds me of the close up shirt change with the cards and coins video that Ramsay did a reaction to. His shirt change was done without even turning.
I see someone before me posted about TV in the 70s, so I'm going to mention a series called The Magician starring Bill Bixby (1973-1974). He plays Anthony Blake, a stage magician and escape artist who is also an amateur crime sleuth.
The clothes change is doable in multiples by adding extra layers to the trick. I've done it but the clothing tends to look a bit awkward after the reveal. Granted my props were kinda half assed so maybe a well suited prop would make it look better. I do think that clip is cut before the 2nd change since her clothing looks so clean after.
I love the "inside look" at magic on your channel. I do love the mystery of magic too. Being a pro Wes, and knowing how it all works, is it still (for lack of a better term) magical for you? I've always been curious how magicians feel about it. For us laymen, it's awesome to feel that wonder and total curiosity.

I finally see how something is done! 9:13 the girl is just behind the magic contraption? I dunno what it's called. Now i KNEW how it was done, but i had never seen it before. You can catch her head in between the metal and the wood.
Can you review "The Con Artists"? There are some funny scenes with magic tricks. One is when a prisoner shows a guard magic trick to get the right to go to the bathroom. Another one is when two two cheaters played poker and each of them got four aces.
Just found your channel. LOVE this series. Not sure if you've reviewed it, but 2005's Now You See It. Some of the effects are BS, but I feel like some are legit
I’m not sure about the last trick. I’ve seen it done so I know it is possible, but I don’t think they actually did it practically. It appears to be two shots and the sheet is used as a wipe. If you watch the clip in HD at .5 or .25 speed you can seen the top portions of her hair digitally appear. Hair is the hardest thing to key out, so it looks like they ended up cutting some of her hair off digitally and it appears again as she moves, meaning that she was a separate shot that was stitched into the scene. I could definitely be wrong, but that’s what it looks like to me.
I just saw this, and with the birds changing into the rabbit, I see how it did that, but does that result the same way it does in The Prestige? Or have they been updated?
Wes, have you watched the video Jubilee did of odd man out with 6 magicians vs one fake magician? If not I think it would be a cool video idea to react to it, or maybe even in a future BOB episode with chris.
I was literally saying that those hands for the spongeballs looked like Justin Wilmans hands. Idk how you can just tell someone from their hands, but it's funny you were thinking the same thing. Lol
I feel like this last one she had to be crouching behind him on the ledge thing. Has to be an angle magic trick I think. Only way I see it being possible. She isn't directly behind him. Didn't Sprint from the door. Has to be crouching in juuust the right spot I think 😂

Same. The only magic movie I seen from Disney is Now you see it back in '05. Man im old.
