To be fair, he said 100 rupees for machine cut, was my understanding. He used sissor fixed your beard and gave you a face massage
He didn't ask you if you wanted other services, 2. That is expensive compared to other vlogger cuts that received similar if not better service. Anyway, maybe next time confirm what you are getting for the 100 etc. Cheers mate

That's the thing, if he is honest he still gets same amount and appreciation, instead he comes across as manipulative, leaves a bad taste. It's a good lesson for everyone, if honest in life will make the same money and the people will be happy.

Yup I knew it was going to be like 100 haircut, 100 beard trim, 100 face cream, 100 straight blade line-up, 100 face massage, 100 head massage, 100 shoulder massage... or something like that 🤣🤣 . I did see a couple comments that it should be 150 to 200 max for everything which is good to know for the future.

I hope you will go to a shop next time Michele. I was thinking about the cleanliness issue too. Also, I think a more sophisticated barber could do more with the spikes on top. He was just concerned with bilking you of money. He was piling those treatments on too quickly. He saw a tourist and took advantage. Be careful out there.
Yes, he was way too quick compared to a normal shop - which would have costed much cheaper than what he charged!

Nice look indeed! Shame he tried to over charge you. But, a visit to an Indian barber is the most fun you can have with a man for £5. When I lived in S.E.Asia I would go to my guy every couple of weeks to be taken care of with the best cut, shave and head massage...just for the pleasure.

I watched the full video from this link.I think the barber charged 100 only for hair cut but not only the barber cut the hair but also sheave his beard and face wash and head massage. So atlast he argued for 700 and the barber was agreed

you should ask the barber for menu or write down prices on mobile. overall he should not have charged more than 150. i remember i was recently cheated as an indian at a restaurant. i asked for the price of prawn thaali and he said 250 but when paying he said no he had said 450 i misheard.

140+100 to 150(based on cream or foam)+200+200=640.

Travel Vloggers like you have spoiled these street barbers ..It has become a trend to have one haircut at a street barber's place. They don't maintain hygiene and if they don't use new blades you are risking your life. These guys have gone through very difficult life . They don't hesitate any opportunity presented to them to extort money from a foreigner. All Indians are not like that. Hope you will have some positive experience too.
