Hi Julia, I just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you've been. You were the very first beauty guru I ever watched and you were the one that got me into makeup. Several years later, here I am with a certificate in Esthetics and I have a best friend who is just as obsessed with beauty as I am. I kind of giggle every time I see my MAC Painterly and my MAC Carbon because I saw them in a store near me around the same time I started watching you, and I freaked out and yelled "Julia uses that!" It's probably a pain in the ass to set up, but I like the natural light set up because it shows the makeup better.

love it. you look so fresh. i like that you're doing more wearable/realistic looks. i think heavy instagram makeup looks great in photos or for going out clubbing, but in regular daylight it looks kind of ridiculous. i like watching those kinds of tutorials, but i find myself appreciating minimal makeup that accentuates one's natural beauty rather than slathering on a blank canvas. thank you julia for continuing to be so down to earth and refreshingly candid.
I agree, our preferences and styles change throughout our life. I, too, subscribed to you at the beginning of your channel and remember your beautiful, colorful & bold make up looks. I loved those tutorials so much, I would recreate some those looks... but that was back then. Now, I simply prefer a more natural look and this is such a lovely look! I love it! It has been so awesome seeing your beauty style change from what it was back then til now. It'd be so fun to see a video of your beauty style timeline! 💕

I love your channel and I am one of those who subscribed ten years ago. And I have been watching your videos “religiously” ever since. (Non stalking way though)
My first memory of your video is one with where you were talking about silicones and ingredients in makeup (the very first one) and I also remember a video where you were telling/informing fellow youtubers to put a watermark on their videos so they wouldn’t get “stolen”.
Anyway it has been a long time since I started to following you.
I have always liked your input on all the subjects you speak openly about and the fact that you are not following all the mainstream and how honest you are about your opinions on various items you get sent.
I like your playlists and I loved the months before your wedding and I was so happy for you when you were prepairing your fairytale wedding day.

This is great Julia. I actually prefer this to studio videos. I have really dry skin and love cream products but not many creators on YT use them. I’m a bit older too and the over-the-top Instagram looks would be terrible on me. Plus natural light gives a more realistic view of what the products actually look like. Love this! Please do more.

The dewy face and cheeks reminded me of the 50s beauty icons of cinema: Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, and I love it! I have a rather oily face but I'll sure be trying something like that soon.

Hi Julia! I’ve just checked my subscriptions and you are the seventh person to whom I have subscribed like a bazillion years ago! I used to love those intense interesting looks, but I grew up during these years, and it seems like we grew together over those colors and craziness. I also think that we are about the same age, I am 29 and I definitely appreciate all your new content: cooking, vlogs, dog and nature videos and those more relaxed make up videos as well. So, yeah, just wanted to tell that there is nothing wrong with being yourself and changing and developing oneself over time! Greetings from Croatia ;)

Natural lighting looked great I love this look -as a fellow Mua I love letting the clients and with my own looks, natural skin show thru and then just spot concealing . a lovely foundation for this is the Bobbi brown original skin foundation. I loved your look and I myself tend to lean towards these looks. The whole IG thing I'm so over and done with, especially being in my 30s,,, it does t look so hot! Im so not into cake face anymore! So bravo!! 💋✌

One of the first looks I remember you ever doing was very similar to this ‘super soft and glowy’ look on MAC LiveJournal before UA-cam even was a thing! So although people may think you used to do a lot of intense looks, this actually really reminds me of your style from wayyyy back in the day 🎈

Love this look, great video! I actually enjoy videos with natural lighting because even if it changes, you can much better see the real life result. Set lighting I'd still prefer for swatches, though, for the comparability. By the way, thank you for saying that you'll wait with buying more of the blushes (I think) to enjoy the one you already have. I think we often get completely carried away with the rush to buy stuff. If there is something you love, just stick with it and enjoy it!

Hey :) du bist technisch einfach Hammer, deswegen guck ich deine farbintensiven kreativen Sachen super gerne. Aber das hat ja keen Zweck wenn du da keine Lust zu hast, außerdem ist rumhängen und dir zugucken/zuhören eh das beste. Ich guck sehr viele kleinere UA-camr die ohnehin mit normalem Tageslicht arbeiten, ich mag das. Gern auch first impressions in diesem Stil :)

I liked this look very much. My only suggestion is to use a brown kohl for the upper lashes so that they seem fuller. My favorite for that is the Mac PowerPoint Eye Pencil in the color Duck.

Good tip with the oil! I've been struggling with getting the right balance of dewy and not oily looking skin. I also have a dry forehead so maybe I should apply oil just there to help tamp down the dryness.

really like the natural lighting and the zoom would be great for foundation reviews and in general I prefer to see how the products look on the skin.
Hi Julia, the natural light looks fab. The rash could be the beginning of a perioral dermatitis. I have it often in the cold weather.
