- I've gotten quite a few requests to upload footage of me actually performing something. As it happens, my husband saw that Hoyoverse, the video game company behind Genshin Impact, is hosting a music competition, with submissions ending on May 10, 2022. So here is my submission!
*EDIT: So I just discovered that the rules were not "at least 60 sec", it's "within 60 secs". So now this is just the full version of my submission.

( Random tip for headphone users: I put my headphones on from behind, so that the V split cord is blocked behind me.
That way the V split cord doesn't attack me from the front and hinder my performance. )

*Update - June 2022: At the time of uploading this, I didn't own Xiao. But as of Patch 2.7, I am now a dirty Xiao main.
OMG, I didn't realize we were doing the Genshin Impact song's theme. Maybe because it wasn't as controversial as nowadays. Good good.

Beautiful as always -- your playing is the best argument in favor of extended techniques that sound strange to the ear at first. You make them natural, musical, and attractive to hear.
BTW, I've finally just given up and decamped to the Boehm flute. I do still prefer the 19th century flute, but it's just too hard to get a lefty C foot, and the Boehm headjoint reacts so much better. I can get up to much higher harmonics on it, and I can get a B foot on a completely mirrored instrument on the Boehm.

@@JustAnotherFlutist Been playing on a mirrored flute since I started! :-) And honestly, I JUST sent an email to a great simple system maker who makes lefty C ... foots. Feet? So I may end up back on my beloved simple system. Since that style of flute got absorbed by Irish folk music, and folk musicians never care which side you play on, lefty keyed simple system flutes are easy to get nowdays. (It's a really neat story, actually although way too long for a UA-cam comment.)
And yes, I have a lefty Boehm! It's by a company called Viento -- I have two, actually. A nickel silver one with closed holes and a C foot, and a silver open-hole B foot one. They sound great and play really well although they sound VERY different from my simple system.
