  • If you wanna find the meat cleaver that I tried to replicate go to the inn in White Orchard and look at the serving table! Grinding the blade took me bit over and hour.

    Nice chopper, one tip if I may, instead of pouring the oil on the anvil keep a rag that you wipe up oil with and then use that for when you're doing the finish, wipe over the hot steel, black heat not red hot, it should just smoke a bit when wiping over, this will give the steel a lovely black finish.

    Really nice but to function properly the D guard should be smaller because it is higher than the bottom portion of the blade.

    Is there a purpose to tapping the anvil after you hit the metal?

    • @ReasonAboveEverything
      @ReasonAboveEverything 5 років тому

      Jeffrey Jordan's, you don't want to break the rhythm so you just strike the anvil. Also the anvil makes your hammer bounce a little which aids in continuing forging.

    • @wanderingcalamity360
      @wanderingcalamity360 5 років тому

      Keeps the rhythm, minimizes fatigue.
      Doesn't seem like it, but constantly fighting the hammer's inertia over time will wear you out.
      So, instead of holding off striking, you keep your rhythm and just tap the anvil
