    When you make coffee at home, that’s a busman’s holiday 😀 But seriously speaking, the fact that you assembled this setup at home - and are still updating it! - indicates your dedication to your craft. Most baristas I know are content to have the usual instant coffee when they’re off at home, or maybe a simple brew, if their time in the shop has made them want something more. Any coffee shop would be lucky to have you on their staff ☕️♥️

    I love the simpleness of your kitchen. Many people on you tube have all these super high end machines that many people can’t afford but you have manual grinder and a little Gaggia Classic and rocking it out! Very 😎

    Nice to see another Gaggia classic user. There are far too less videos out there. Beautiful workflow and everything.
    Since the Gaggia classic is so small I don't like flushing the machine into the driptray. Water finds its way everywhere. I use an old plastic container to collect waste water from flushing the machine, or from water accumulation in the steam wand. The same container is being used when cleaning the machine throughly every week. The driptray on my machine only fills up with water from the pressure release valve or a few drops that happen. By the way there is an aftermarket half profile driptray, to place lager cups and also scales - but I like you solution too.
    I am using a Gaggia Classic as well since 2015. I love it. I bought new and cheap because some parts were missing. I paid many be 200USD with spareparts. Apart from giving it a through clean every week, I have to do maintenace every two years or so. Replacing the themostats, gaskets and maybe the steamvalve. I want to replace the needle valve with a ball valve. Has anyone of you done this? My Double ristretto is a bit different. Using 18g aming for 45g in 25 secs.
    I used to use a manual coffie grinder, the Zassenhaus Qito. I loved it too. The glas container fits perfectly into a 58mm filter. I did not like the static charge that the coffee had after grinding but this was actually no issue.
    The probleme began when offering friends some cappuchino and grinding roughtly 60 grams of coffee in three batches, weighing out the beans, putting it into three containers, that you can produce 3 espressos in a row and steaming afterwards 3 times milk. Grinding three times coffee manually could take between 8 and 10 minutes, depending on the beans. The most beautiful thing was that the kitchen really smelled after fresh coffee much more intense than with my electric grinder that I am using now, which does the some work in 15 seconds or so. I miss uning the manual grinder though. I did it without electric grinder for 4 years.

    Merry Christmas 🎄 from 🇺🇸 🎄 I have white GCP and it is paired with Niche grinder and an IMS basket. My GCP makes great coffee!! For steaming I got "The One" single hole steam tip from Shades of Coffee in UK and it made big difference with steaming ten seconds before light goes on.

    As a first purchase of espresso machine should I get GCP, Silvia or save my money little bit to get Profitec Go(almost double the price compared to the first two In Indonesia.)?
    I read in reddit that you need to mod GCP and Silvia if you want to have a decent shot. They suffer same temperature surfing issue since they didn’t have PID. Also I’m not too tech savvy to mod an electronic and I’m afraid the mods would make the appliance last shorter.
    Any thought?

    • @laurangelia
      @laurangelia  2 місяці тому +1

      I’d say save, and get the better one if you can :) I’m not familiar with Profitec Go, but indeed, you need to mod GCP and Silvia.. I told myself I would mod my machine when I first got it years ago, and I still haven’t done it till today 😅

    Thanks for the video. I’m wondering if the Kinu grinder you’re using is able to grind smoothly without any beans catching and creating roadblocks.
    I have tried manual grinding with a porlex but my movement was never smooth because the thing catches a bean and stops the movement which can be annoying in the morning.

      Merry Christmas! I would recommend you to read as much reviews about it as you can, and see which one suits you best. Coffee machine is to me a very personal thing, I can’t recommend it to you because I don’t know what you need. But for me, I love this machine, it’s a great entry level coffee machine and it’s within my budget.. Although it requires a lot of work, but it’s comforting to know that I could do some modifications to it if I wanted to upgrade :)
