Processing process of the highest quality hemp yarn used for summer kimono "Kamifu".
Here we introduce the process of producing konjac glue-processed yarn.
Konjac glue is coated on each thread to suppress the fluffiness of the yarn and give it a unique bounce and firmness.
This process is called sizing.
This processed yarn has long been used for high-end traditional fabrics such as Omi Kamifu, Noto Kamifu, and Ojiya Shrink.
In recent years, because of its special characteristics, it has been used by textile makers, top apparel makers, knitters, and young weavers in Japan and abroad.

Yes. I’d love to know who own the factory, is it mostly family that work there? Those sorts of things. I’d also like to know why they treat the fibres this way? I know konjac is both soft and absorbent, I’d love to feel the cloth!
