Being traded twice is far different from what happened to fox. He refused to sign in Calgary, so they traded him to Carolina. He then refused to sign there too. He wasn't traded, he was shipped out because he was literally useless to the franchises.
Fox seems like he plays lazy, he's not explosive like that but he is always on point with his passes and the way he sees the whole ice. Makar is so fast and he is great, fox looks like he's playing in slow motion But he's so efficient so it doesn't matter I guess
That's not so clear these days. Fox's analytics put him higher than Makar and Hedman in pretty much all offensive and defensive categories. Some GMs would pick either of them over Fox , but not nearly all of them
It depends. Hedman is a reliable player, long and storied career. Makar, just like Fox, young and hungry, who knows. Maybe he could be great, or he could be another Dennis Wideman. I would take Fox, not as a Rangers fan, but if I needed to make a new team, Fox does a lot for me. Long time on the ice, I believe 30-35 minutes every game, runs point on the PP, don’t really know about the penalty kill, on pace for a 90 point season, etc. Believe me, Hedman and Makar are both incredible players, but the upside of Fox is there. And it doesn’t seem like he is slowing down any time soon. To win the Norris in your first season in the NHL with a brand new team after the adversity of being traded twice, that’s the mark of a superstar.
I don't blame anybody for not wanting to be in God knows where Canada aka Calgary, at all. The Carolina situation is where Fox showed his slob-ness. Basically there is no shame in his game in terms of thinking so highly enough of himself that he should be the one that choses who he plays for, not the other way around. As for him winning the Norris, this argument goes back to the Erik Karlsson days: there should be a separate award for dman with most points. If the Norris went out to the BEST DMAN Hedman would have won it pretty much every year since Lidstrom retired.
NHL needs to rework the draft rules otherwise draft picks will always choose a few teams to play for New York , Boston for example. So much for equalizing the playing field. Might as well go back to the original six.
They won’t because Fox is an outlier, the average NHL player can’t pick where they want to play. Foxes skillset and overall high upside as a prospect gave him all the leverage to sign where he wanted to sign. A more common example would be a player like say Tony Deangelo, who is from Philly and wanted to be drafted by the Flyers. Instead he ended up being taken by the rangers. Years later he would be traded to Philly. Same result much different road to get there
Adam Fox is the most exciting defenseman to play for the NYR's since Brian Leetch !!!
And he’s even better than leetch. Hard for me to say that but it’s true.
@@FF-fh5cv Fox is impressive, better than Leetch. Time will tell.
I was so excited when the Rangers trader for Adam. He hasn't dissapointed at all.
Fox is an absolute stud, he always seems to do the right thing with the puck and without. Let’s go Rangers!!!
Let's go Foxy... keep it going n, stay healthy please..
.
He wanted to be a NY Ranger.
Who doesn't
@@samw31 Especially now!
From Jericho New York.
His patience with the puck is second to none.
Well he wouldn't sign with anyone but the rangers so its not like those teams had a choice
Fox is the best
Fox is the best defenseman hands down no one is close whatsoever and already has a Norris and will get plenty more of them

Dude sold out this title is misleading dude was a crybaby till he got his way. No respect for him
That's ok hes fine with his Norris trophy you can not respect him
He’ll be fine with in 7 years with 66.6 mil and a Norris trophy and probably more and you’ll still cry about him
Next one is Lane Hutson.
LGR ..!!!!
Any GM would pick makar or hedman over Fox.
BUT HE WAS PICKED 66TH? WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
ye but only 2 d man ahead of him is impressive. he a top 3 d man in the league

Do you watch any rangers games? Fox is very stout defensively.
Fox's defensive analytics were also better than Hedman's last year
Hedmans great but Fox has this high energy style that amps his team. Like Makar
