Haruki Natsukawa is a pilot for Global Allied Forces Japan’s robot unit, “STORAGE.” As he fights day and night to keep the peace on Earth, a new Ultra Hero alights before him!
That hero’s name is Ultraman Z (Zett). He’s a hot-blooded hero who introduces himself as the disciple of Ultraman Zero.
In the face of the Ferocious Space Shark Genegarg’s onslaught, the two imperiled heroes become one, and the story of a new Ultra begins!
★Series Synopsis
Once, shards of evil called “Devil Splinters” were scattered across space, throwing the galaxy into chaos. At that time, Ultraman Z, a new member of the Inter Galactic Defense Force who sought out Ultraman Zero as a mentor, comes down to Earth while chasing the Ferocious Space Shark Genegarg. On Earth, the Anti-Monster Robot Force STORAGE is formed to face down the monsters that appear on a daily basis. In his first battle, Z merges with Haruki Natsukawa, a new pilot of STORAGE. As a gimmick, I actually loved the concept of Ultra Fusion.
Because unlike previous Fusion gimmicks, Z's fusions are only giving him additional techniques as well as enhancing his stats and fighting styles, while he himself still retains his original techniques (i.e. Zestium Beam and Z Slugger).
His Ultra Fusions are literally add-ons to his own powers. A refreshing take on the concept.
Oh, yeah, plus you can also feel how each of Z's Ultra Fusions have their big differences on top of adding to Z's potential, like how Alpha Edge is well balanced but makes use of Z's training in Space Kenpo and amping it up, Beta Smash is the heavy power and muscle form, focused more like a pro wrestler with wild tricks that Z gets from Ultraman Ace's power on top of the balance Ultraman has as well as Taro's flames, and Gamma Future being more tricky with illusions and mystical abilities similar to how Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia are in their universes. Then Delta Rise Claw is just the overall max potential Z triggers in Ultra Fusions, since he draws on Zero's power as Zero Beyond, Riku's power as Geed Primitive, and finally, the darkness and destructive power of Belial Atrocious. It makes for big differences in ways like how Gai as Ultraman Orb gets different forces to draw on with his Ultra Fusions, or the same case too with Riku as Ultraman Geed.

Can’t believe this is already 2-3 years old now. Remembered the first time I watched it and it became one of my favorite shows. Time to rewatch again!

You just can't beat this episode, or perhaps even the entire series. Z will forever be one of those rare shows where EVERYTHING just came together perfectly. It's a must watch for any fan of Tokusatsu.

Despite everything around it going to hell with covid and it's head writer passing away in the middle of production, Z is an amazing work.
Coming here after Decker's first episode. Decker's first episode is good but Z's first episode remained superior out of the Reiwa series.
Idk why I just found this but i love it. I remember watching older episodes of Ultraman and being totally obsessed with it. Like I had a photo of 7 year old me dresseing up as Ultraman and posing with the cross hand pose and wanting to grow up to be Ultraman. Just so many good memories.

Actually, it's because the series got a great reception outside Japan, so we're getting this encore run of the series. (Ultraman Global on Twitter said so.) I think that's a great thing they're doing before an eventual Blu-Ray release in the US!
When I first watched this episode, I fell in love with it! Each episode of Ultraman Z was a knock out of the park. From the writing, the acting, all the practical and VFX shots. Ultraman Z was a masterpiece!

Without a doubt, Ultraman Z is definitely, in all aspects, one of the best series in the history of Ultraman. From the way the story is told to the fight scene, they all go beyond what I expected b4 I started to watch Ultraman Z for the first time.
In contrast, when it comes to Ultraman Trigger, I am afraid to see it will go downhill as what the series of Ultraman Taiga went through judging from my experience of watching the debut last week. I really don't have high hope for Trigger. Nonetheless, I must say the fight scene was done in a pretty impressive way. At the very least, the fight scene gave me goosebumps all the way from Trigger shows up till Trigger vanishes in thin air.
yeah, even if the story gonna go downhill, we have Z's director working on it, and we higher budget too! So we can get expect another one hell of a series when it comes to fight scene

oh yeah, Ultraman Z episode 1 is like what happens after the previous episode of Ultra Galaxy Fight.
So, the other Ultramans are fighting Tartarus while Ultraman Z is fighting Genegarg.
So this version not only got better resolution but also doesn't get deleted after a while like before.
I missed ultraman z the first time around, so i love that its being uploaded again so those of us who missed it can get a chance to watch it
That start though with Haruki trying to help that puppy and the problems it caused for Yoko and Sevenger XD But it fits to Haruki's character to do something like he did with saving that puppy and when he and Z worked together
I remembered when i was being pessimist when seeing Z. His concept just unoriginal, like transforming using 3 medals are literally Kamen Rider OOO rip-off. Then again, Z is beyond my expectation and literally become my 3rd favorite Ultraman

Some of the English dubbed voices are kinda janky, like Taro's and Tregear's, but some voices are really fitting like 80's and Zero's.

Well balanced power, its fighting style, combine with Haruki's Karate technique. Z movements are really satisfying to watch.

I still find juggler in the opening hilarious.
While I only saw most of the show in its English dub format, it's really nice to see Z again, this time in its original Japanese language, mostly how it compares to one another and to tide me over until its 25th and final episode of the series makes its release in English this Saturday. I really hope when or if Ultraman Z makes its official physical release in the US via Blu-Ray through Mill Creek, the show itself will be released in both languages.
So some of you guys are wondering why is Ultraman Z series is being reuploaded? Well because Absolute Conspiracy just concluded and it ends right when the events of this series begins and it appears Tsuburya is going the extra mile to create a proper chronological timeline of events. As you may already know, Absolute Conspiracy is a series that took place before the events of this series as we can see Z still training in the Land of Light. So I am guessing once we enter the finale episode something new will pop-up to continue with Absolute Conspiracy perhaps and properly focusing on the Devil Splinter outbreak.
Anyway, I once again here by dub thee current timeline in the Ultraverse, the era of ADB (After the Death of Belial). I dub thee this because Devil Splinter outbreak and from the demise of Belial and Tregear, low lives from across the universe have begun to resurface and began to make major power grabs while the Ultras are scattered dealing with the chaotic outbreaks created from Belial's legacy of conquests. On the other hand, the Ultras are busy dealing with a new universal threat that has emerged and has made a declaration of war against them, the Absolutians. Beings that possess ungodly might and can naturally cross time and dimensions like it's breathing. The progenitor was Absolute Tartarus who has captured a powerful galactic leader who has close ties with the Ultras.

As an old ultraman fan, kinda disappointed how their headquarter have become, this series their headquarter look like a converted garage haha, but ye hopefully they will go back to what it was before, with fighting planes and laser beams
I think that was kind of the point.
unlike the Ultra teams of old, STORAGE constantly has it's organizational budget cut due to the collateral damage, and maintainance upkeep(anti-kaiju mechs, compared to the combat vehicles the other teams use, are a LOT more expensive to build and upkeep), and is making do with a maintenance hanger's office as their operations room.
