★Series Synopsis
Once, shards of evil called “Devil Splinters” were scattered across space, throwing the galaxy into chaos. At that time, Ultraman Z, a new member of the Inter Galactic Defense Force who sought out Ultraman Zero as a mentor, comes down to Earth while chasing the Ferocious Space Shark Genegarg. On Earth, the Anti-Monster Robot Force STORAGE is formed to face down the monsters that appear on a daily basis. In his first battle, Z merges with Haruki Natsukawa, a new pilot of STORAGE. Together, they rise up to protect the peace! However, behind the scenes, the parasitic lifeform Celebro has set a terrifying plot into motion…

People here say not all Kaiju are evil yes but that's definitely not Red King.
Red King is a ferocious Kaiju throughout the entire Ultraman Series. Even in this episode the first Red King is literally destroying building and attacking human.
What Jugglus say was right the next time this two Red King appeared it will attack human.
True. In Ultraman max red king is just a big bully, Z just happens to encounter a less aggressive red king.
Its best to judge each series kaiju as a different kaiju entirely. Gomora is another ferocious kaiju but sometimes he helps. You are right that most of the time we get villainous red king, but that's not to say we won't get a friendly red king one day,

I love the nuance and compassion on display here. Haruki and the Red King parents both acting to defend others from attack was great.
Haruki came off as so vengeful against the first Red King that it 1. was very effective and 2 made me convinced his dad died in that kaiju attack. That makes ULTRAMAN Z the monster to that baby Red King and the other parent. That's some GREAT stuff!
Not to mention...
Juggulus Juggler disguised as captain Shota Hebikura still takes care of everyone at STORAGE, including Haruki especially when his hometown got attacked by Red King, which is nice.
I mean, do we have any other Tokusatsu history where anti-hero character taking care of everyone no matter who he/she is?

Look at my pro-human bias! I guess seeing Juggler in his human form most of the time had me thinking about him differently.
Do all kaiju have human forms? Why does he? Are only higher order kaiju able to do that?

Today's skit is...very heartwarming. And yeah, Haruki learned a very painful lesson...that not all Kaiju are evil, they are inhabitants of this Earth, just like humans.

This episode official made Beta Smash my favorite Z form with all those wrestling moves.
It was my favorite from the second it showed up, and this episode only increased my liking for it.
I remember this is the episode Haruki and Z killed a male Red king right? And if so, I can imagine this:

The opening show how the team impress over their new weapon and at the end, Haruki and Z end up killing a Red King that have a family

The Red Kings didn't attack any building unlike previous kaiju. The first one was probably establishing their territory.
*Haruki's Dad:* "I'll be seeing you."
*Me, watching then:* "Odd thing to say, but hearing him say that hurts."
*Me, watching now:* "That hurts even more!"
To my friend now watching the series (you know exactly who you are), heed these words:
There are many things that must be defended. The innocent people about to be trampled under the feet of a kaiju. The pride of an undefeated warrior. And most importantly, those who can be saved.
And those who cannot be defended.....are never forgotten.
Also the countless human being killed and crushed into nothing as soon as an ultraman crashed into one of the building

Should learn from Cosmos, an Ultra known for his calm and gentle fighting style, and his compassion for monsters. Not all monsters are aggressive, they just happened to appear at the wrong time and act in self-defense.

I think only Haruki realized that he's accidentally killed Red King, but Z doesn't. I guess Haruki and Z has different consciousness against each other.

This episode make me realize another lesson Daring Doubt trying to teach, don't use violence to solve your problem or you will regret and felt guilty about your action later. For those people didn't know what is Daring Doubt, is an episode from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 9 Episode 21.
a lesson all humans need to learn instead of always being so quick to kill
The issue isn't using violence to solve your problem, its using violence to finish the problem. Its hard as heck to not kill someone using violence and protect what's right. Obviously you want to talk things out as much as possible first before using violence, but sometimes that just isn't possible and you need to disable the other person.

My theory was correct and if you want to view my theory go back to ep. 8 and 9. Ultraman trigger seems to have three ultras in the series but in a secondary ultra type aspect. When this newer higher quality Ultraman Z series repost ends it would be in Late June or Early July. Ultraman Trigger series is set to begin on July 10th. If you want more info. on the series, go look at the description of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga (I am posting this comment on every episode to help people who are confused)

Its been over 10 years since I watched a ULTRAMAN series that has some dencent quality. This ULTRAMAN Z managed to sell toy for bandi and teach some philosophy to educated children. Sad that the director died.
I think you're referring to the writer Kouta Fukushi who died May last year (about two months before the series premiere). The main director was Kiyotaka Taguchi, and he's well as usual.

Does anyone know what that music is in the ad for the Rise of Ultraman comic? It's SO good. I found the ad very moving for some reason. Maybe it felt nostalgic because I read the series.... Anyway, the next issue for Trials of Ultraman is coming out this week, right in between Z 11 and 12. So much good stuff right now!

Basically like Beta Smash except less buff, this form emphasize fire attacks similar to Orb's Burnmite form and Geed's Solid Burning form.
