I was born in 1969. I loved growing us as a child in the 70s, and this is one track that brings all those wonderful memories back. I didn't enjoy the 80s at all, people started to become cold towards each other, and then more so over the next decades. If I had a time machine, the 70s would be the place I'd go.
Even with the success Pussycat had, I still feel that they were underrated. In my opinion, they were a top tier band - special music, -lyrics, -vocalists and a solid producer. Timeless music. How artistically intelligently "Mississippi" was created. Although a brand new release in 1975, it was a song about nostalgia with regard to country music, the Mississippi river (including the people of the area)... and as the decades went by, the song itself became representative of its own theme - a country song, called "Mississippi", and boy, it brings-on a tsunami of nostalgia. This is the stuff of artistic genius.
Exactly their music wasn't just dirty raunchy music it was beautiful harmonious loving and took you through all kinds of beautiful death that's not what the record companies want at that time things were changing going downhill the Morality In the music is completely disgusting and now with rap music it takes societies into the gutter nowadays music is 100% filth
By chance I listened to this song yesterday, I was 12 in 1975 in Portugal, we had a revolution recently , so music from abroad was coming , I always thought this band was American due to their rock contry sound . Bravo to these ladies .Thanks for the memories . Pussycat Forever
That was easily the best documentary I have ever seen. Short, and not a wasted frame. I'll forever cherish Mississippi - which, to me, is the most beautiful pop song ever sung. It always instantly transports me back to the 1970s - a time of innocence and simplicity. Thank you for sharing this documentary. The sisters are as gorgeous as ever, and so are their voices.
Time stops for no one. But recordings if preserved are immediately back to the moment it was recorded. Congrats ladies. You made a great generation happy and gave it memories of yesteryear. Sweet gift.
I love so many of their great songs. It is so wonderful that they meet every morning for coffee. That is the way it is supposed to be. It is also so impressive that they are multilingual. Three precious women.
Pussycat waar ik al sinds 1975 van hou Toni waar ik toen ook voor viel, ze is nog steeds erg mooi en ze zingt geweldig! MIssissippi zal doorgaan tot het einde der tijden, bedankt
I miss these three sisters a lot. I do not spend more than one Week without listening to one or two musics of them. I dream with some day in a next future they will come back performing together again.
Well I just had the music video, Mississippi pop up. What a great group. I want to wish them well, and what harmony between the sisters. Yes, under rated, never heard of them until tonight. I was, and still am a fan of James Last, and de Toppers, and now Pussycat. At 72+, this is great music to listen to and enjoy life. My best of wishes to all, from Dave, back in USA. 👍👍🇺🇸😀
I grew up listening to the Pussycats when I was in my high school days and I instantly loved their music. I still listen to all of their music today and until I kick the bucket.During our high school days when we would crowd around a one small cassette recorder radio and would sing along together with our old cassette tape, many times it got tangled up and we had to try to join it with some sort of sticky tape so that we can continue to listen to their music.dome times we would go to the Chinese stores in our small town and pretend to to asked the shop keeper to try to play the cassette to see if we liked the songs but we had no money then so ,we tell the shop. keeper that we font like the songs and he can put the tape cassette back. The Pussycats brings many beautiful memories for me during my high school days in the 70's and 80'sAbsolutely love you guys.
thankyou I love this song I always heard it as a child growing up in the 70s and I still play it I'm 57 now my children and grandchildren listen to it bless you all 😊
Sadly by most people here in the UK who remember them from the 70's they will only be remembered as a one hit wonder with the No1 hit Mississippi but they did much much more and I would say to anyone who remembers that song to buy a collection of some of their other songs and you will not be disappointed...
they were a brilliant ly talented group of musicians so underated just didnt get the breaks at the right time , love alltheir songs never get tired listening to them. been playing their songs since 1975 still playing them now 2020
Years and years later, Still enjoy listening to these Ladies . Toni,s singing , fantastic, love her voice. Listen to them regularly. Nearly same age as Toni
What a nice family that put a lot of happiness in thousands of fans. I just found them thanks to UA-cam and enjoy the sound of soothing harmonies. It seemed to have the flow of the Mississippi behind them. ❤it,thanks for a pleasant introduction. 👍🍻
I still have the original Pussycat LP's but Mississippi is the song I played the most. Their harmonies were perfect but all their music was great, I'd like to see a much longer documentary of their lives in English.
I grew up listening to this group as my parents played their music all the time. My favorite song is 'Smile'. I have downloaded Smile and Mississippi to my spotify playlist. Thanks for the music ladies 👍
Pussycat is one of my favorite bands - great voices, such meaningful lyrics, evergreen tunes. Their songs are (and will always be) on my playlist whenever I listen to melodic retro. It's interesting to see this documentary on Pussycat to know more about the band. Toni Wille, love you so, so much.
The best Country music Made in Holland. Tree sisters whit a great voice and lovely Sound of Country music.its Gold to know that the sisters stay togheter still in this wery hard buissnes.i like the music of pussycat wery much and i be a big fan and i be very proud of this great work of the sisters there give us a great and lovely music in this time.best whishes for the future to the sisters and her family.
Toni from Pussycat couldn't help but overshadow her sisters, with that flowing blonde hair and soulful voice. It seemed like a given that she was placed in the centre of the trio.
How pleased I am to see this documentary. I always loved listening to their song "Smile" which I kept on vinyl for many years. "Mississippi" was of course their greatest hit, it showcased all the musical talent in the band. Great memories of wonderful music talent still relevant today.
ladies, when your song war popular in early 70 i was then a teen, i love your song, now i am more than 70 social made your song especially mississipi become talk of the town again not knowing you are not an american and you are sisters, i love mississippi, i am working to have you commended by the mississippi government, greenville particularly. you are all fantastic, by the way i am a filipino from far east. thank you
I just love all three sisters. For ever. I am going to have Pussycat played on my funeral I love it that much. I will go to heaven on that beautiful song.
Nice to have something about them in English; I found them late in life (four years ago, with Mississippi; I had a gf in MS), and I loved their first recordings
how nice that the sisters are so close and still meet up every day, almost makes me jealous as i have no family. As for Mississippi, how many groups have a hit song all around the world. Georgie is another good song as are a few others but Mississippi, well, there is something really special about that song. Pleased to see all the girls are still together, still healthy, happy and content.
Betty was unconventionally very attractive girl and her cheerful disposition shone through in her performances. A delightful girl and still an attractive lady. Wish I had known her when she was young tho.
Pussycat: Three angels who came to earth to sing.
Very Interesting, Informative and only makes me want to know More, These Sisters have the Most Beautiful voices, I think I have never heard more beautiful singing, I Love to hear them sing, Their Voices move you and take you to sweeter times, I simply Love them
Esse grupo, sempre trouxe alegria e contentamento, para as pessoas, que apreciam o estilo e o romantismo. Por essa razão, os anos passam, mas não nos esquecemos. Incrível!!
EMI Records decided not to release Mississippi in Gt. Britain. It was picked up by Sonet Records, a small label that could see the hit potential the disc had. It entered the UK Top 50 singles chart at #48 and had made swift progress within a week, climbing up to #29. It kept up the momentum, continuing upward to #21 then #12. The following week Pussycat found themselves in Britain's Top 10 at #5. It kept on selling, kept on climbing, next stop #3, then up again to #2... ...the week ending 16th October 1976 they hit #1 and held top position for four weeks... EMI's loss was Sonet's gain and the disc went on to sell just short of 1 Million copies in Britain and remain in the Top 50 for 22 weeks.
I am 72 now with very fond memories of the 70's. Never did I suspect that this group was German, possibly American or British, yes yet always polished to the "T". Beautiful, even in 2023.
Smile is a great tune, like that one very much. Wet Day in September guitar intro is clearly influenced by Al Stewart's On the Border and ofcourse Pussycat will always be remembered by their major breakthrough Mississippi! Thank you Pussycat for the wonderful memories and those great tunes you've given us.
Mississippi, undoubtedly their best song but they have so many other great songs. I listen to them every night. They bring back the memories of another life I wish I could still be in,thank you Pussycat x

Very well said.
Absolutely agree with these comments.

Yes. In my ignorance, I always thought "Pussycat" was an American band. How little I knew!
I think you three ladies have made this a better world. Your singing is so touching. I love you ladies.

I met this band in the early 80's as a teenager. I played their songs almost every day and I never got tired. Angel music. I love them.
