It’s one of the reasons child killers, molesters are kept in separate locations in the prison to prevent vigilante justice but it doesn’t work all the time as some prisons are over crowded
@@skullidle in most prisons especially in America inmates can request the rap sheet of anyone in there, so they can see what they have done

I don't watch Chicago PD for the realism. I watch it to see inhumane people get treated the way they deserve without the risk of losing the case.
No kidding, 3/4s of the baddies would just walk between the police brutality, police misconduct, and just blatant ignorance of their due diligence as officers, but my god if it isn't satisfying to watch child killers get beat up.

Not just two family members, that's her husband and son, unless she supposedly had a daughter or son in school or otherwise not present when this scene happened in the story, that's her entire family, her whole life, drowned and frozen over. Everything she built just gone.

True, but a lack of realism can be cathartic with cases like this.
@@GamingBenchmarksBI Lawyers defend scum like this because it's the legal and moral right of everyone to have an impartial defender. That lawyer is not there to just claim anything the defendant did was right, but simply to ensure that they get treated fairly according to the law.
The suspect had guns and money, neither of which are illegal in themselves. If someone breaks down the door to your house and screams at you to get on the ground, are you going to wait for them to tell you they're the police, or will you defend yourself from this perceived attacker?
Rarely if ever is a case as simple as "this person is evil scum and must be removed from society." and there always HAS to be someone standing up for all parties involved for anything approaching justice to be served.
@@GamingBenchmarksBI that's besides the point. the rules of police conduct exist to prevent police from beating confessions out of suspects. yes, there are times when it means scumbags can get off scott-free because of some techinicality, but would you really prefer a world where police could just torture info out of suspects?
also, if other detectives lied and said Voight mirandised the suspect and the defence lawyed managed to prove they were lying, that's perjury. perjury is a criminal offence; they could lose their job and pension, possibly even go to jail for it.
and again, the way exclusion works is via the "fruit of the poisonous tree" principle. if not for the accomplice's info, they would not have found the guy, nor the guns, nor the money. so legally, if the defence finds out the accomplice was forced into confessing, then all the info he gave is excluded and all the evidence linked to that info is excluded also, i.e. the guns and the money.
he could still be charged with resisting arrest, which is a minor offence with no jail time. so, yeah... if CPD episodes followed through to the trial, it's highly likely the guy would get off

This has nothing to do with this episode, but I was watching Chicago PD, the episode where there is like the kids in a shed, anyways at the end Antonio was talking to Voight and voight was asking him about Woods and whatever and Antonio said something along the lines of “That’s not how I do business.” And the song “I’ll never snitch on you daddy” came into my head and I realized that everyone in Voight’s team does.
The one thing I love the most is when Hank Rotate the gurney almost like he wants him to dread of not seeing where he is being wheeled out but feel the wrath of what looking at him

every time i see this show i think what a disservice it does for real cops and the victims in the show. Their behavior would get cases thrown out and lost convictions furthermore it doesn't put actual cops in a good light, showing that they're above the law.
Agreed; any officer like Voight would have been suspended and then cashiered in short order. Hell, the entire force would have been facing an inquiry, and every last one of their cases reinvestigated. I wouldn't be surprised if every last one of those cases would have their sentences vacated simply on a procedural basis.

This whole series is fantasy time. None of this would be allowed in a hospital. And any evidence given under duress like this would be bombed out of court. Satisfying to watch though.

No, it’s not real. While entertaining, the way the police act is not accurate at all and would not be how the police truly work. The stories are based on some real events tho
