It was good to see the place again, but we'll probably see it in the flesh, so to speak, in August 2024 when we're in the UK on holiday from New Zealand where we have lived for twenty years. I live near the Crown Bridge in Sebastopol. Must say you quite brave using the southern section from Goytre. It’s pretty shallow and full of weed and rubbish from the new housing Good to see where I walk my dogs from a boat perspective !
Hi thanks we are starting at pencelli,cambrian boats,so going down south and back to there would be no problem,we like quiet moorings so hopefully that way should be OK
hi loving the video,how far did you get in the week, it looks good on the southern end,are there many moorings that way, we have been as far as gilwern and Brecon
Hi. We got fully South and North to Brecon in a week, but we cruised on average for around 7 to 8 hours per day. We actually prefer the canal Southwards from Llangattock, as the views are fantastic, although ‘proper’ moorings are slightly fewer down that end. Plan ahead with a good canal guide book and you should have no problems 🙂
Yes, we prefer the southern end. However, the whole canal is beautiful and well worth the trip. I imagine weed may be a problem in summer at the southern end, as fewer people go that way for some reason.

I think that because it was spring time the weeds had not started to grow and it wasn’t too bad at all
