+Leo Chen I did not have any fitment issues with mine. The Tomei sits low under the rear differential; most use a band clamp to hold it as close as possible to the rear diff without making contact from vibration, etc.
how is it n/a? I just ordered mine - only because we plan on boosting but I'm gonna be using it with an n/a setup for this whole coming season - just curious how you like it. also, I'm on stock height but it looks like it sits low behind the bumper in all of the pictures I've seen - any issues with that? are you lowered?
+Lady Zed It is fine with an N/A setup and sounds great at the track and up in the mountains. Louder than the majority of dual exhausts available for the Z34. Which makes it not ideal at times for daily driving or when trying not to draw attention in the city. I am lowered and have scrapped the pipe that wraps under the rear diff which is also the lowest point of the exhaust. I believe it could have been routed better like the Z33 version but what do I know. Once that pipe gets beat to death you should be able to order just that section from most vendors from what I have heard on the 370Z forum.
+FullMetal1717 I believe you are talking about the tin can noise? That is due to the exhaust resonating. It may of been heightened on where I placed the mic in the hatch. This was also the very first drive with exhaust I believe it mellows out a bit after some miles are put on it.
Hey man, you live like right down the road from me. I live in Madison in the apartments close to Outback. When I saw the sharp right hand turn I knew exactly where you where haha. I just bought a 370 and it's being delivered in a week or so. Holler at me and maybe I can pick your brain about the Z's sometime.
since this is a 3" exhaust did you notice any power loss? I ordered 3"inch inlet mufflers and was thinking going 3" piping after the catback but every single person says dont do it unless im going boost, which im not. Reply back asap plz :P
+Nicholas Neal No there isn't any noticeable power loss. The highest recorded N/A Z the last time I checked was running the Tomei system with full bolt ons and a tune.
+Nicholas Neal There will possibly be noticeable power loss on a 3" dual system on a N/A platform. I do not know of anyone on the forum running a similar setup to give you more information. You will be able to document the effects of the system.
In my opinion yes. I drove it to Zdayz and back that year and on the highway the drone became annoying. Draws a lot of attention through town. It sounded great letting it sing through the mountains and on the track though. For a DD I would stick with Fast Intentions or Motordyne, etc.
NotAmuZed Yea it would be quieter for sure and make it more liveable for day to day operation. It is also user preference on how loud is too loud for your liking. I'd ride with someone who has it first if you can or if you haven't already.
Barely anyone z around here that's modified let alone with a tomei exhaust, Here in Australia the car scene is mostly made up of holden commodores, ford falcons and skylines/90's import cars
Ended up buying the tomei y back I love it so far no drone but I'm looking for performance gains so hfc are up next not too loud for dd but we'll see once I fit aftermarket cats
No I did not. It was the plan after finishing all the mods I planned on doing. However, I ended up parting it out and selling the Z this year. Hoping the next gen comes boosted from Nissan. Same powertrain as the Q60 Red Sport with a manual.
Nissan Skyline GT-R 34 Love that Tomei sound! I just uploaded another video from Zdayz on Hellbender 28. My neighbors love me but I try to keep the rpm's down in the neighborhood minus this inaugural run.
My left ear really enjoyed this video
I still love my 7spd auto, but sometimes I wish I had a manny.
same
My left ear was lonely for this video lol
Sounds good! I have the Z33 version and I'm convinced this one is louder.
Appreciate it. I think both versions are just as loud. They just have slightly different notes IMO.
Is that the actual 370 tomei exhaust or the 350 one cause I got the 350 one and I love the sound of the exhaust cause "Race Car!"
Richardcolt1911 It is the actual version for the 370.
I ordered the motordyne Y-pipe with tomei muffler as well, did you have any fitment issues?
+Leo Chen I did not have any fitment issues with mine. The Tomei sits low under the rear differential; most use a band clamp to hold it as close as possible to the rear diff without making contact from vibration, etc.
+speedfreek thanks for the reply!

Whats that buzzing sound when you shift in the beginning?

Shawn H Cool man. Anytime. Join www.the370z.com if you haven't already lots of info on there. Enjoy your Z when you get it!

+speedfreek I will be doing dual though, not single

People say I will lose some torque bur gain up top. Worth? Hmm
+Nicholas Neal No real point unless you're turning the Z into a constant track car.
This sounds GREAT! but really loud. I know you have sold the parts since but would this be too loud for a dd in your opinion?

speedfreek do you reckon just having the catback with no after market cats will be quieter?

Did you get a tune for the HFCs?
No I did not. It was the plan after finishing all the mods I planned on doing. However, I ended up parting it out and selling the Z this year. Hoping the next gen comes boosted from Nissan. Same powertrain as the Q60 Red Sport with a manual.
You have an electrochromic rearview mirror?
+Ned Stark Negative it might just be the way it looks in the video. It is the stock 370 mirror with homelink.
A super sound because the VQ37 comes right pithy!! What do your neighbors to :)

Ahh common no WOT, not even once.
kinda sounds like a detroit diesel, which is not a bad thing in my book.
