- Cobra chickens took out a motorcyclist infront of us tonight. Made the 911 call and big shout out to Guelph Police Service, Guelph Fire Department and Guelph Wellington Paramedics for arriving so quickly. Motorcyclist appears okay as my wife attended to her until help came. And unfortunately one young cobra chicken died. Could have been much worse!

I've been told, as a truck driver and a motorcycle rider, if a dog or a goose gets in front of you, do NOT brake or try to swerve, hold tight to the steering wheel and drive right on top of the critter, if you don't want to crash and die.

The bike industry is passing the automobile industry in safety I believe. If we drive a full size car it will hit someone/something too hard and a person can not forget to buckle up or that person will be hurt too bad in a sudden stop. I love the three wheelers like the Can Am Spyder because of the balance and all season performance.

This is what can happen after careless people throw food scraps out their car windows onto the highway and then birds land to pick them up.
No this is what can happen when a so called motorcyclist can’t actually ride their bike. Grabbing a ton of front brake whilst steering is an accident waiting to happen.

If they would have just hit the goose straight up, they would not have wrecked. Rider made a bad decision. I hope they didn’t get hurt too bad.

Glad she's ok, could have been so much worse. I know she had to have a helmet on, but where did it end up? Doesn't look like she's wearing one during the rolling? People think those beanie caps look cool, but that's until your face is dragged across the 'cheese grater', known as asphalt. They don't often stay on, either... but at least you're riding legal. I've ridden using both types of helmets. I love the freedom of the beanie cap style, but was always aware that my protection was severely limited.
Never try to avoid wildlife just keep on your course otherwise you put yourself at risk! Glad she is okay.
