Omg This has made me cry. I remember when I wrecked I wasn't even riding, just rolling my bike backwards next to a storm drain that was sinking so very very steep, one little pothole and off balance I went. I couldn't put my leg down or I would've snapped my femur in the drain so instead I just tried to pull myself out from under my bike as much as possible into the fetal position. I took the full almost 400lbs weight of my bike onto my right ankle. So at 1mph I snapped my fibia & shattered my tibia so badly the bone was sticking out of my leg. My foot was only being held on by muscle and tendons. I didn't realize it at first and just thought my leg was asleep. I was a little embarrassed and attempted to jump up and pick up my bike before anyone saw me. Yeah I thought I'd just go to the ER and they'd wrap it up and id be back riding that afternoon. Lol A major surgery, 1wk in the hospital, and months of recovery...I will never take just how lucky I was for granted. You have to careful. But in the end you can't control others so you just have to stay focused and aware at all times. On a lighter note, I still ride, matter of fact the day I got out of the hospital I went and picked up my bike and rode her home. I couldn't be without her. It was my bike and that need to ride that pushed me to recover so quickly. I wrecked Oct. 4th and by Thanksgiving I was walking again and riding tough. Stay safe everyone.
That’s crazy I was young walking around outside and there would be gunshots daily I was clueless tho of if there was real drive bys happening or just Little shenanigans

Not that long ago my brother was on his motorcycle and he was hit by a drunk man when I got out the truck to go to see if he was ok it was just silent he was unconscious he was bleeding from his head his heel got grinded off on the road and while he was on the stretcher his right foot was hanging off by a thread I’ll never forget that day

Driving home from work, I came upon an accident. The cyclist had hit a corner of concrete barrier hard enough to cut him in half. It was the saddest thing I’ve ever saw. The other biker friends were sobbing over his body top half. His lower half was on one side of the expressway. As an old biker I felt for the biker and friends who saw this happen. RIP ❤

I'm 70 years old. Riding a motorcycle off road in my younger days was the most fun thing I've ever done. But riding on the highways now will kill you. it just isn't worth the risk. No matter how careful you are, there are too many people driving that aren't paying attention. Sad but true.
Wasn't a single professional rider in this group, especially the person doing crappy one gear wheelies. Also noone authorized this. Has anyone ridden without deer jumping in front of you?
I e also noticed that these riders are always going way over the speed limit, and weaving throughput traffic but then turn around and Bitch people driving cars are to blame for accidents. Almost every time I see a motorcyclist it’s almost always followed by the screaming of their engines.
Her name is Amanda, she had to get her leg amputated after this. She wears a prosthetic, and she still rides bikes which is freaking awesome. Probably though something like gta. You know in gta you can get top speed much faster by doing wheelies constantly. Edit: just want to say something. I mean, back in gta san andreas, you can get to top speed much faster when you lift up the front wheel up to a certain angle and then ram it back down. Then you repeat the process. Edit2: people tell me I played too much games.😁 well, that's not true. I haven't played those famous games because I can't afforded it. But let me clarify the reason why I said it goes gta physics. I don't remember every name or even if you tell me to list the one I know, I still can't named it because I'm forgetful. But there are games that follows real life logic and physic up to a certain point. So that's why I thought that maybe popping a wheelie here may have been one of them.
@@nickgreenwood9731 I've rode a Hayabusa before and I've never had it to pop a wheelie just because you take off fast. It usually only pops a wheelie if you yank up on the front

I have ridden motorcycles since age 12 and just finally became “bike free” after 40+ years. Way too many distracted drivers on the road for me. Thank the dear Lord I never experienced anything like this. Be safe out there!

A degloved Foot/leg is a horrible injury caused by wearing the wrong foot ware for the wrong application and mostly results in the loss of the injured limb.
I actually started crying after watching this video , I worked as a firefighter for 20 years, went on a motorcycle accident where a guy lost his leg , he was conscious and told me he was just running a quick errand and was actually backing out of his driveway in his truck and then decided to take his Harley instead because it was such a nice day , after we med flighted him I went back to the station and had a heart attack, which ended my career, in my twenty years I saw hundreds of tragedies a lot worse , but that one somehow put me over the edge .

You're dead wrong. Did you even watch the same video? She was clearly the only one involved in the crash and you'd have to be an idiot to think she was possibly going 25mph for something like that.

When we would get a call we obviously are ready to do what it takes to save them, but in my experience there was usually nothing to save. Glad she survived and hope she recovered. Nothing short of a miracle with how the bike was shredded
Damn, I know a lot of people that were in bike crashes, but only know of a few that died... so I figured from that logic, that they would mostly not be lethal. I guess when you work on an ambulance though you deal with the serious crashes... and when you deal with the serious cases they tend to be more lethal.

My dad was an EMT in the 80's and he was called out to a fatal motorcycle accident. What happened was this man dropped his child off at the bus stop for school on his way to work and after they got on, he followed them to the on ramp of the freeway, he got into the middle lane to wave to his child goodbye and "I love you." Well, he lost control of his bike and got ran over and was also caught underneath the school bus and died. His own child saw their father die... My dad rarely ever talks about his time as an EMT. For anyone in the pre hospital world if you see a boot off of a rider that is an automatic trip to a trauma center. Did 10 years of EMS as a paramedic and thankfully I never saw a crash this bad. For context the only way a motorcycle boot that is properly fitted can come off is if it is hit at a high rate of speed or if the rider puts a foot down at a high rate of speed. If your boot comes off because you put a foot down the foot has to turn backwards, the tib/fib will break and very likely the femur will break. The subsequent crash from this will likely damage many other parts. C-spine, pelvic binder, and whatever spinal precautions are in your protocol should be done.

Some really bad accidents have happened because of power wheelies.
Power wheelies: Bike is not the right weight for how fast the wheel is spinning, and it lifts up bc the back wheel is the one that pushes, and now it wants to be in front. (Bike terms for beginners, I guess. Don't take it as condescending pls, just the easiest way to explain it.)

Yeah, your friend just crash and you do over 80 to get there. That’s smart.
He saw things he really regrets seeing. There's more stories about what he had to deal with as an EMT I could tell but it would be too much to read, too much darkness and human suffering. He was an EMT for not even 10 years.

Riding a motorcycle can be exhilarating, but it comes with risks. Always wear protective gear, follow traffic rules, and stay vigilant to minimize the danger of accidents. Defensive riding, proper training, and regular maintenance are crucial for your safety on the road. Don't underestimate the importance of visibility, and never ride under the influence. Ultimately, prioritize safety to reduce the chances of serious injury or worse.
