- Car and Driver went to Monster Jam University to learn how to jump a 12,000-pound 1500-horsepower monster truck. Apparently when a bunch of 'roided-out trucks with 66-inch tires and alky big-blocks start popping wheelies, you've got to set some ground rules.

I grew up living next to Tom's house pretty awesome guy
NO WAY
REALLY???
I grew up in front of Dennis Anderson’s barn house I lived right across the highway and me and my mom would always here his trucks
Cool
Yes really the only thing between his house and my childhood home was a all grass field. His ex brother inlaw is very good friends with my dad. Iv spent alot of time at Tom's house. Very nice guy iv went to badlands off road park with him and a group of guys from our home town many times as well hes just an all around cool as heck down to earth guy
Question how do you go about going there for training?
From what I know you have to know someone.
You'll notice a lot of these drivers either have ties to other motorsports like motorcycle/drag racing etc.
Others will have been a part of some of FELD Entertainments other projects like Bernard Lyght, the driver of Alien Invasion.
KING PERFECTION1 or you could crew. Thats where majority of the newer drivers and even older drivers started.
Darn I should’ve talked to someone when in San Jose. I could totally do that
They don’t have college applications for driving. It’s for mechanic for them most likely which you can do that and maybe someday be a driver, if not you need connections or some kind of pro racing background
Same
So basically you need to be a freemason to get the job
I laughed when he said God save the queen
Paxton, Illinois. That's where it's at.
Hell, I'm 52 years old and I would love to go.
@@kennybutler9957 go for it dude
Kenny Butler its never too late my man.
I love this, I didn’t know there was footage. I read the article about this when this issue came out.
Where in the world do you send in an application I tried to contact multiple people and I can't get through to anybody and this is my dream
Imma do whatever i takes i get there thats my dream of a lifetime💪😁
You make it yet ?
where do i sign up for this though? and how much $ is it
The wheels them self are about 3,000$. That’s probably a lot of money with every other thing as well on top of the wheels
To make the truck with used parts is around 150k but if everything is new you need around 350k-400k
@@lamardavis4653 a bit unrealistic its more like 250k-300k
if you want to be a driver the easier way is to build your own truck and get into an independant tour. If you want to go to monster jam university you have to be a mechanic or have motorsports background.
Ware is it and how much is it?
I would love to do this
I like El Toro Loco, one of my fav trucks
That was cool. Id like to do that someday. Dose it cost anything to go there?? If it dose how much ?
I imagine it ain't cheap to go through training. Considering the fuel costs, possible repairs made from damaging the truck, and maybe some extra stuff. Just guessing based on my dad because he has licenses from a class B license to a crane license which weren't cheap.
I always wanted to drive the grave digger truck when I was 6 years old and I can’t wait
How do you sign up?
Unoh or motorsports background
@@frankallister5538 so it has to be UNOH and you cant be just like a small town mechanic that still knows alot about it, even as much as UNOH students?
Is this like a real school or just training?
whats the application link?
About if you live in the UK
Cool video.
I got what it takes!! Get me in ! Lol seriously
Thanks for posting - enjoyed watching -Tom F4collector
Awesome video. But they really should stop advertising this place to all their fans as some kind of driving school that anyone can apply for.
Where do I sign up?
This is my dream and I’m starting this year but first I need my Drivers License! lol I do plan to compete in Monster Jam!
I’m one year late but did u make it?
Did you do it? I hope so
Im only 11 and i already wanna drive a monster truck so i guess i just wait till im there and yea
I ready know what truck I made but before I get my own truck. I will drive grave digger for a season then I will drive my own truck.
You have no idea how badly I want to do this. How does one get in to start training? I must know.
That’s the point of the video
Are you better than Ezra ?
This is my dream
The still picture made me think my computer was broken.
Me too I want to drive a monster jam truck
How can I do this
Where can I sent an application ?
hey! try sending a letter if you have no connections to anyone. or even try emailing. its a long process but for sure worth it
like a turtle on its back. Ezra is cool built well and I live in Illinois so just for the experience I will be sending my transcripts to the MJU-MONSTER JAM UNIVERSITY! HA
I want to do that
Tom meents if you see this I want to join monster jam it’s my biggest dream I’m gonna get to that point thank you
Who says God save the queen? She's an imortal
But do u gen money when the show ended ???????
Who did the wheelie at the end?
Probably Tom.
It's colton@@cocacola150dr
I believe I can fly
Burning on alcohol fuse
When i become 20 I’ll go here so I can compete in monster jam
Tyrannosaurus Wreck
Get it?
Yeah i hope to go there and compete in monster jam. My truck would be called “untamed beast”
Cody Dobbins nice bro
Cody Dobbins actually glad u asked. Think of it like this: the main body is like wild flower or time fly’s, but then there’s beefy menacing claws that have chains on their wrists that grab the front of the truck from the side and look like they scrape the grill, and there would be el toro loco type horns on top of the cab. Finally, the wind shield would be one long thing, with teeth on the bottom and top to look like a menacing beast’s mouth, with a gray fur looking texture to it. This is probably too much info but i just thought i’d say it anyway.
If you want to get into monster trucks get a CDL and have some mechanical knowledge. If you start with say Bigfoot in year or two you behind the wheel.
But do Iyou get money????

The sounds like h2O delirious
Mabye it is
Can anyone go there to learn how to drive a monster truck
The whole fitness thing makes me laugh. While they're riding the wheelers and the sxs they're expending 10x more energy in a single lap than during an entire freestyle. Not to mention, there's very little chance of getting injured in a modern rig unless your onboard fss fails. 28" of plush travel. Compare that to the 4" of rock hard leaf spring setups on early rigs. Skilled dtivers, yes, but they're sure as shit not athletes.
Tater Cake I’m sorry but “gay” is not a valid term to describe something that is personally incorrect to your liking.
Vortex Games yea, actually, calling something gay is on point. This pc bullshit is ruining the western world.
