your Monster jam career is well underway Kevin so proud of you dude.
hope so!
@@KevinTalbotTV im sure 😁because people like you already and they are also gonna be proud that you just rolled in to the sport.
Another great thing about Kev; he calls beamng a simulator, not a game!
The devs thank you!
Have you ever seen beamng social media? They don’t care bcs they know that they can make more money selling it as a game but yes it’s a simulator they just don’t promote it as one
@@Kr91122 have you ever seen beamng social media? They explicitly state that it was designed as a simulator for soft body physics renditions to help vehicle manufacturers test vehicle safety in an inexpensive way. They decided to publish the game for funding and marketing. It was never the initial goal.
@@DreadEnder @beamngshorts
@@Kr91122 nerdge
@@Kr91122 it was a damage sim when it first started not a driving sim technically
I thought the thumbnail was the real truck 😭
Same 🤣😭
Same here
Same lol
You're not alone
Same bro
BeamNG has got to be the best game for any kind of motorsport, i got over 2,020 hours on it😂 good luck Kev!
Been playing the game for years but only recently did I start modding it and yea it’s king but the reason is because now I have the second best graphics card you can get with a ton of memory whereas before it was integrated graphics…
You should make a chair that uses Hydraulics to simulate the movement of the monster truck's suspension system, giving you the sensation of driving over rough terrain, jumps, and obstacles. This can be done by adjusting the hydraulic pressure and damping of the suspension system based on the terrain and the speed of the truck.
in future!!
motion platform is what your talking about you can buy them
Just put subwoofer in chair
I WAS JUST BAOUT TO SAY THE SAME THING
Watching you rip around in the monster truck was like watching the super bowl. Can not wait to see you ripping again! I hope you bring it to the states one day but even more i hope you find some land soon so you can build the practice truck. I was impressed with your build series. Ive been watching you for years and had no idea you could fabricate on that level. Now all you need is your pilots license.
tempting!!
@@KevinTalbotTV The channel does need a plane, I'm just saying. That would be an amazing video series.
I am very impressed young man. I am a fabricator/welder as well. Great job on your sim.
@@enoch52 Cleetus McFarland just started posting his plane content. Imagine Kevin flying a plane. He's such a daredevil that he will be buzzing Buckingham Palace making King Charles llI spill his morning tea like in Top Gun. 😂😂
We will constantly faintly hear in the background: Terrain, terrain, pull up, pull up, terrain, terrain, pull up, pull up in his aviation videos. 😂😂
Hey Kev! Awesome setup! Though it looks like every time you shift, Steam for some reason detects your shifter as input for taking a screenshot (the popup on the bottom right). You can change or disable that in the Steam settings as far as i know! Otherwise it will take a screenshot everytime you shift and it will probably fill up your pc storage over time!
I also have BeamNG and downloaded the Monster Trucks mod some time ago and was so surprised to see yours! Didn´t know it was something you can actually train with :)
I wish you the best of luck for setting everything up mate!
Cheers
Damn I should have looked at the comments. I noticed the same thing and posted pretty much the same thing you posted. Also, it looks like you got Kevins attention. 😁
As a sim racing addict, I am very happy to see Kev getting involved with my favorite time sucker lol
You might want to order dedicated joystick controller board for the shifter and rear steer. The board will appear as separate joystick. Windows should be able to pick it up just fine. Your current configuration has a small issue: every time you switch gears you're making a screenshot.
OMG it does!!
The better option is to just turn off the keybind thats screenshotting
@@dopebossgamerz or change the keybind
I'd suggest an ultimarc ipac. You can run it in keyboard or joystick mode and wire any kind of switch to it. We build custom controllers for robots with them but they are really for home built arcade cabinets.
he could just change his keybinds
For an improvised sim setup, you did damn well, I see a lot of people saying to get VR but BeamNG doesn't support it, and VR in driving would get old quick any way, most sim drivers prefer 2-3 big curved monitors lined up to give them an almost 180 degree cockpit view.
always glad to see someone else enjoying our project as much as we have over the years!
Nice job on the shifter! In the game, and in real life, don’t use the rear steer when you start tipping to one side to save it, just use the front. It’ll make you tip faster in most cases.
I found it to straighten better with rear steer too and in the game it lands ok most of the time, not tried in real life tho! just watched a couple of your vids good job!
@@KevinTalbotTV I just mean when you’re on the ground. (: thanks dude! Been following the build since you had the chassis and enjoy your RC content too!
Thanks bro! I liked your vid working at the show
@@KevinTalbotTV yeah front steering is definitely the way because the rear steer will misbalance the truck when it’s on the sidewalls
I am amazed at the quality of work you do with just basic hand tools.
Yes Kevin Monster Truck ist Absolutely Epic 👍👍👍
It's great seeing Kevin innovating with a great simulator like BeamNG.
I've played BeamNG for years, and the CRD Monster Trucks are my favorite mod.
When I first saw Game Over was added to CRD's official truck pack after Kevin's first event, saying I was excited was an understatement.
I've never seen the day Kevin would play beamNG drive.... for his monster truck 😂
The question is... Do you have a good processor? I've heard beamNG takes a lot of cpu power.... especially in the multiplier mod!
i had a decent editing pc built, just so happens to be good at games too!
@Kevin Talbot Oh, alrightly then, good luck on beamNG. I've also heard that modded cars can spin out easily if there's too much rpm without slick tires if I recon, so make sure to mess around in the game more if you can.
The multiplayer game crashes every time I load it and I have a pretty good computer
the game isnt bad to run with one vehicle, but more vehicles require more cpu power due to the amount of physics calculations being done. i have a ryzen 5 5600x and can play with 10-20 cars depending on their complexity
@@bmxscape I have upgraded my cpu recently just for beamNG, coincidence?!?!?
Thank you for showing ALL of the build. Especially the mistakes. I would have totally done the same thing with the keyboard and then had the same problem. It’s cool to watch you think through the process!
I love how you keep taking a screenshot with F12.😄
Vr would be crazy with this setup
You should try and get the Santa pod track on your simulator so you can practice on the same track you’re going to use in real life
is there a santa pod track?
@@KevinTalbotTV I’m not sure, but I’m sure someone has or could make a plug-in for it!
Awesome setup!! Logitech g920 is so cool with the force feedback
That racing gaming setup is dank!
Your Monster Jam Career is on the way Kev!
hi kev looking forward for all the monster truck things 😊
Congrats on first
@@IronOre33 hey thanks dude
You can adjust the degrees of steering in game to match the degrees the real trucks use just turn the steering radius down to about 360°-420° makes the steering alot more realistic
Kev could even take it a step further with a VR
That is so fun kev😉.It is very different
This is all super awesome to watch all the stuff you build come together... but... look at that weld! 🤤
You can tune a direct drive wheel to feel exactly how you want it. Self centering can be turned off. There's definitely a benefit to going direct drive for your use case. Plus you can use the same wheel you have in the truck. Need a load cell brake pedal as well!
If that game can be played in VR then the realism factor will be even greater.
Your shifter keeps screenshoting the game!!
Look for a FFB (force feedback) wheel or specifically a Direct Drive wheel instead. It vibrates and automatically turns the wheel realistic to bumps and suspension movement, self centers, and gives you proper resistance when turning realistic to on\off throttle, wheel speed, etc.
real monsters have no force feedback and self centering front steering
@@KevinTalbotTV fair enough
@@thatsgottahurt and also the wheel kev is using is a FFB wheel lol 👍 it's a logitech G series
He addressed this in the video…. Like every aspect of this comment word for word 🤦🏽
@@KevinTalbotTV but direct drive really gives more immersion. You have higher dynamics range of ffb. The logitech is fine for hobby driving but for practicing monsterstruck I wouldnt say so. Anyway the clutch pedal has very weak spring so the brake feel must be odd.
I wanted to see a video like this but it would also be cool if you made a livestream playing and practicing on the simulator.
I'm imagining that Kevin only really became interested in Multimeters when he found out he could make them make a beeping noise.
Holy crap! I didn't know there was more to BeamNG than what i'd normally come across with people messing about with engines or physics and goofing around. That's quite a serious simulation!
Hey you know you can change the camera angle with C or whatever. But if you use the number keys at key 5 it should look just like the interior camera. Except you can move it around with W,A,S,D and wherever you leave it. it will stay there even after you reset!
You can also just look in the controls menu if you need to look for keybinds, or just bind the keys yourself. Be sure to not overlap any keybinds though, that can be quite annoying :)
You’re smart for building a simulator - I know that’s what Dennis Anderson has done for a long time and the crazy thing with BEAMNG drive is the math algorithms are SO DAMN GOOD that monster truck should react pretty damn close to the real thing - that’s the entire key with using BEAMNG is the math algorithm in how the vehicles react. They did a test with a real hatch back then recreated the same crash in BEAMNG and it landed and crunched and crashed EXACTLY how it did in real life (you can find the videos if this in UA-cam) I would run your simulator from the cab driver perspective
The new steering mosterjam uses is a BIGFOOT 4x4 developed electric motor assisted rack and pinion - dude it’s like you can turn the wheels from lock to lock with one hand like it’s NOTHING. Beautiful system
Some of the most famous videos are side by side comparisons with real life!
KEVIN PLAYING BEAM NG?!? What a delight to stumble upon, I love going for drives in beam ng. It is such a nice driving simulator.
I love it when a plan comes together.
To hook up your controls to a keyboard, you would need a mechanical keyboard. Individual switches are soldered to a PCB inside a mechanical keyboard, making them suitable for what you were trying to accomplish.
FIRST COMMENT PIN!
Just booked our weekend tickets for UK Monster Truck Nationals with my son and best mate! First time attending after years of saying we would.. So absolutely buzzing to see you in action and hopefully meet you Kev! 💯👊🏻
I love Beamng, its so fun and SUPER realistic. My friends and I run a Monster truck server so we can all play and have tournaments! 😄
Please make more vids like this in the future and ur progress
I wish you good luck for the next show
If you want to use a keyboard, you need a mechanical switch one as they use proper circuit boards that you can solder to
When you do the freestyle championship you should see if a GoPro works in the cab
A KEV, im a huge fan
Your welds were great Kev!!!
Thats awesome! You should look into a VR Set too, that would be amazing
Xpadder has been a life saver for me plenty of times
Kev the mad scientist .a bit heath robinson
Yay stemp is back
You definitely need to get a VR headset Kev. Would give you a whole new dimension
Bean bf dies t have vr though
OMG I looked directly at the welding!!
I love playing that game. its so realistic especially with a powerful computer
Nice truck
You need an eye tracker, so you can look around the cabin and see your wheels.
Awesome work man. You were born a builder.
Those simulators are actually really cool
Funfact, I live only 20min away from the beamng headquarters. And its so cool to have the best monster truck in the best game.
Amazing
Oooh i love beamng. Ive been playing for years now.
I love beamdrive, been playing with it for a few years
Seems like a VR headset would be a great way to try this. Pretty slick setup either way!
Nice! Only thing missing now is a VR headset 🤩
YAY!!!!! BACK IN BEAMNG DRIVE!!!
Hi Kev you should try connecting a VR so you can look around
F’n awesome…🤘🏼 Love your DIY attitude…🤙🏼
i do recommend ''rigs of rods'' its the same program used by monster jam for trainers, its about as real it gets!
I have never seen a pro monster truck sim rig setup
Nice set up men I have been watching for years nice to see your truck is n the game
13:17
You're ingenuity blows my mind. Inspiring.
This is awesome Kev. Your tig welds looked great too
14:05 looks like you've accidentally set the button for one of the gears as the screenshot button too, you can see it says screenshot saved in the lower right corner, might wanna try and change that so you don't fill up your hard drive with heaps of random screenshots :)
Great Video Mate. Cheers
i like how when you put it in drive it takes a screen shot
Now all you need is a good 5.1 surround sound system to fill the room with the sound. 👍🏻
omg your finally playing beamng drive yesssssssssss
Kev you need a VR headset so you can use your head to make it just a bit extra realistic instead of being solid in one place.❤
The most convoluted way possible to wire that up, guess its one of the reasons we all appreciate ya so much.....
ya know you can get programmable virtual ports you could have just wired those to a usb cable with, now you do 😂
Epic, lad. I reccomend turning force feedback
I love this guy he’s such a legend
i love beamng and beam-monsters
One of my fav games right there
Hell yeah Kev, stacking dimes
I didnt expect kev to play beamng, wow.
Well done man on the SIM
So when you want to get something working, there is allways a way. You proof that every time. 👌👍
