Honest question. If people rocking HDO2 want the best image from it's 1280 line OLED... finding a good 1200TVL camera might produce a clearer, smoother image than a 1000TVL like the Phoenix?
No, not really. The practical resolution of the NTSC or PAL feed means you probably won't notice any difference between those sensors. The sensor has a nominal resolution rating which the manufacturer advertises, but the camera setup and tune (by the manufacturer, not so much by the user) makes the most difference.
@@JoshuaBardwell Ah of course. Easy to get sucked into big numbers. Tried your P2 settings, they are great base values, allowing fine tuning on the goggles. Thank you!

This camera will work on the Wizard. You can do adjustments using a camera joystick (but it's not included you have to buy it separately) or via your controller if you wore up the TX RX wires to your flight controller.
If you use mode 1 the joystick movements will be different. It's based on channel not stick location. So it is center throttle yaw right to enter the menu, not left-stick push to the right.

Hey Joshua, Runcam Racer had that UART feature from the begining and now we are on the Racer 3 version. It's also a CMOS sensor and I bought one of them so I guess I can use your tips on it too. But what are the differences between the Racer 3 and your Phoenix V2 Joshua Special Version?
I bought two of the phoenix v2 but neither will keep a lock in rapidfire, have to switch to legacy modes. I've gone back to the ratel, similar picture quality, keeps sync.
Would you mind telling me which version of the rapidfire do you use? or contact us via email run@runcam.com to find out the issue. Thanks for the help in advance.
@@nerf4885 hey thanks for the reply, now I just installed a new run cam Phoenix, I think, but when I swap out the run cam with them extra Foxeer cam I have the picture quality improves massively. I did have to modify the wire harness that came with the run cam because my flight controller had a little bit smaller type of plug, so I think it has to do with the splicing of the wire harness. I ordered a new one but I will have to change the plug on the end that connects to the FC. Maybe I'll just chop off the plugs and solder it right to the board if that's possible.
I have a quick question for you since you’re an FPV expert. I’m interested in the dji digital fpv system and I’m building a helicopter gas powered. I want to install 2 cameras; one for forward view and one for hover work. This begs the question: can I change the view from one camera to the next from the goggles?
They didn't include camera control at the start because of technical reasons (fitting the circuitriy on the board) and cost reasons (raised the cost of the camera by about $3). They didn't intend to do this until I insisted that I wanted it. If you want to get camera control working with any camera, try this device. Way cheaper than a new camera. ua-cam.com/video/akiP6vBaPvU/v-deo.html

dang, i saw the image switching through pilots on field. instantly asking which cam that is. so i bought one. now we have both trippy colorflickering on this cam, orange sky, purple grass etc... :( its how i think psychedelic drugs work 🙄in dvr its not that strange at all 😵 any ideas?
Does this camera have a zoom?
Image looks a bit cold, much like the Foxeer Micro Arrow, where color balance leans a bit too much to green/blue. Light handling seems really good though. Default settings looks a bit overly colorful. UART control is a nice touch.
🦅runcam🙏
Hey Joshua, Runcam Racer had that UART feature from the begining and now we are on the Racer 3 version. It's also a CMOS sensor and I bought one of them so I guess I can use your tips on it too. But what are the differences between the Racer 3 and your Phoenix V2 Joshua Special Version?
The Racer has a different sensor and I never really liked it too much.
@@JoshuaBardwell Guess I'm gonna give it a look to your Review on RCRacer to understand why. Thank You, have a Nice day.
I just got this camera JB, the "bonus" menu is not in this camera.
Am I able to use camera control via my transmitter on a bardwell f4 board if I am using t6/r6 for crossfire and using tx4 for vtx smart audio control?
Move SmartAudio to LEDSTRIP pad, remapped to SoftSerial. Then UART 4 is free for camera control.
@@JoshuaBardwell you da man! thanks josh :)
What's that FPV monitor? any links? thanks.
How does your video have no static or breakup?? Mine always have static in the analog video..
This was recorded with a DVR on the quad.
What are those stickends on your X9D Joshua?
Hi. Does the Runcam Phoenix V2 give you the possibillity for real time filming, or does it "only" do recordings? Hope someone can answer 🙏
I don't understand. The Phoenix is an FPV camera. It doesn't record at all.
My runcams are so "grainy" I can never see things like chain link fences or white soccer goals at my local park. Gonna try your setup
@@RunCamFPV I'll email you, would love to sort it out.
Replaced my Ratel for fav camera...after first flight I ordered another!
How do u get the menu for adjustment to show up in the goggle bro Joshua
Use a joystick. Or watch the Camera Control instructions at the end of the video.
Hey my Phenix has a scrolling horizontal line on the screen, any tho6 on what or how this is?
Interference probably from power source. Check video line isn't coming in contact with something providing power. Could also be the 5v for the cam. ✌️
What do you mean by could also be the 5 volt for the cam? You mean a bad pad or should I try a different power source?
The DJI system does not support multi camera function like this.
You can do it with analog.

Can you tell me wich stick-ends and pot knobs you‘re using on your Taranis? I‘m searching for this since weeks 🤭
These are the stock ends in the jumper t16.
Joshua Bardwell thank you!
Did you get a new camera? It looks really nice 👌
Joshua, how do you like the 155 degree diagonal FOV on the Phoenix V2 compared the Micro Eagle's 140 Degrees?
To be honest, I don't notice the difference unless I really pay attention. They're both good for me.
Does the normal runcam Phoenix 2 have uart control? It doesn’t come with a plug for a joystick on its harness
The normal Phoenix 2 has joystick control only, not digital UART-based control.
They didn't include camera control at the start because of technical reasons (fitting the circuitriy on the board) and cost reasons (raised the cost of the camera by about $3). They didn't intend to do this until I insisted that I wanted it.
If you want to get camera control working with any camera, try this device. Way cheaper than a new camera.

ah, crap. i just replaced the racer with phoenix 2 original few days ago and assumed tx/rx pins would still work (didn't test it yet).
Oh well, i'll need to change that connector and find the remote, thank you for info!
How do you get the dvr like this?
DVR is mounted on board the quad.
If we had the option of both your signature cameras which would you say is better?
Doesn't matter because the Eagle is discontinued.
Joshua Bardwell 😂
Joshua Bardwell ok... just take into consideration as I’m in this boat. I have 3 unused still in the box JB micro Eagles since I like them so much. In this case would you say it’s better? Lol!!! I thought you moved on to digital?!? 😂
