The trajectory pre-visualization is a great change for the game. I feel like it actually allows new players to learn how things move instead of just being thrown into a game with zero friendliness for new comers. If you don’t like it you can turn it off but I feel like as siege gets older, the community cares less and less for new players. This was a step towards trying to make the game fun for people that can’t play 8 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.

Several of these takes are just terrible and contradictory. Echo nerf=bad, Echo Buff=bad, new casual map=bad, reworking a casual map to make it more competitive=bad. Also, trajectory for gadgets doesn't take the skill away from using nades/nitro cells, the skill in those is knowing where to throw them to begin with, not being able to throw them there. Its a helpful change which allows new players to actually be able to use nades, instead of not having any clue on how their trajectory works.

I haven’t played this game in a long time. I used to be obsessed. It’s crazy to think it’s almost been 10 years since it came out. Lots of great memories
Trajectory pre-visualization is fine, the main "issue" would be the infinite range of it, they could just make it so it only shows a small portion of the trajectory instead of the full thing, so long tosses are not as precise, but you won't mess up a flashbang because it bounced off a splinter on the wall and flashed you back.
@strawberrana what are you on about? Nades were never meant to ve used as a "crutch" they were there for force people out of places or get rid of people in power positions. Why would I need to play support when I primarily entry frag? Sounds like you never truly learnt the game and take it at face value instead of looking at the tactical advantages to one up the enemy team. Smh my head.
Honestly yes it was a dumb change, it wasn't a crutch if a defender is gonna sit still on the floor and you droned em out you can just shoot them through the floor so either way nades weren't the problem
Also I agree with the bullet hole change, I remember getting bullet hole kills with doc acog a few times, but I don’t remember it being that much of an issue I feel like it was situational and you had to get lucky so idk how to feel about them and with the frag rework they should have just nerfed the damage through surfaces so it did no damage instead of removing them
honestly the reload rework is incredibly fun for me, it makes reloading actually have risk to it, in the past, if people peeked you while you were reloading, you could just cancel it and kill them, making peeking on reloads unfair, but now, you can STILL kill them, but you only have one bullet, so you gotta make it count, and if you do kill them, you can just reload instantly as you just need to put the magazine in. i really like the rework, it adds more skill to the game, and forces you to find cover to reload, making gunfights more fair
About that throwable previz. thing. I don't think it must go away. It just need few tweeks if you think it is bad for game. For example make it so it isn't almost instant but it takes a second for it to show itself. So if you are able to take the time to make a perfect lineup you can, but if you just wanna to "throw 'n forget" then it will be less precise/predictable (if you don't have skill for it). This would still allow you to for example go to custom game and find some insane lineups and practise them or something like that.
Watching this video, and thinking about how the game is now, I'm so grateful I joined when I did. Missed velvet shell, but joined around the end of operation health. Ngl, even though the operators like Ela, and Lion were broken af, I remember having so much fun with them. And the Chimera event? We haven't had anything like that since. I'm happy I got to experience what now seems like the golden years of Siege. And don't get me wrong, I still have fun playing, but these new seasons just don't be hitting like the old ones. They don't bring as much excitement. I miss when they'd release broken operators that were still fun to play, and then nerf them over time. Now we just have lack luster operators, who get small buffs over time, and it's not as exciting or fun to play. I like how competitive the game is, and I agree with balancing, but it's still a video game. I wanna have some fun too lol
Completely agree about nighthaven. It gets banned over terrible maps like emerald, Kafe, kanal, and consulate even though it’s far more balanced than all 4 of those
22:00 new players don't even have access to quick play until level 10 or so, I don't think the sites being set up is detrimental in any way. In fact, I love not being the only one setting up site 30 seconds into the round. W quick play change
Yes, but they are not even good setups. If you could remove reinforced walls than maybe it would be somewhat valid, but when you pick mira and you realize that the wall is completely reinforced it's just dumb.
Great video Beast. Very cool to see kind of a history video about the game, made me miss the old days. I agreed with almost all your takes. One thing that would've been nice is if you included the date that each season was released but other than that, it was a great video
trajectory pre visualization isn’t over powered and nade cooking shouldn’t have been taken out, they should have made it so c4 and nades don’t kill you through floors
The game director said they would not rework house. He said they knew it was broken and that's why the community and the devs liked it. Said it was a classic. 2 season reveals later it was announced reworked
The DBNO Change was ok but I don’t like the fact when you down someone it doesn’t tell you if their injured or not it just feels like an nuisance more than anything having to worry if they are down or just didn’t take enough damage.
As someone who uses the trajectory function, it actualky works. Before, id run anything Other then nitro because it was a screwy mess that id have to eyeball and itd get me killed. With the trejectoru, its much easier and gotten way more skillful kills then before
To each their own and all that but one thing I absolutely HAVE to disagree on is the attacker repick. It feels unfair to the defenders to allow a window of opportunity for the attackers to just completely counterpick whatever the defense is running. Sure, the other way around you might stumble into an unfavorable situation as an attacker but one thing I like about siege is that it allows for so many playstyles and approaches (at least in casual and lower ranks). Seeing that the defense has the upper hand and then trying to work out a solution to circumvent that on a tactical level rather than picking better suited operators was always really fun. I don't change my op out of principle but I think it's just not good for the game in general to allow people to repick and gain an advantage through that rather than tactics, teamwork and skill.
I personally really liked sens, his utility is good for some cases like blocking sight. Yes, its not the best but it does have uses, i also liked the gun, it was definitely bad at the time, but not terrible. Only thing bad about it was the recoil in my opinion
Only bad takes are the death match, flash rework, reload change, and nade rework Death match is my go to game mode to warm up. Flashbangs used to be way too inconsistent and good players couldn’t be flashed. Reload change brought more realism and just made sense also it nerfed LMGS. Nade rework could of been done differently instead of destroying a unique part of siege. T-hunt remove should of been 1 of the dislikes with LMG meta along with smg-11 removed from sledge it just made no sense.
For skull rain there's no way we're complaining about attacker sided maps when this entire game and the most recent operators have ALL been geared towards defender sided lmfao
You should’ve included the removal of terrorist hunt, and that one mode that I don’t remember the name of, but I think it was like story mode or something. It was like a campaign in that one school map. Also should’ve included tachanka rework but do agree with the echo nerf I took a brake then came back to the nerf and was so livid as a echo main

I think the pistol recoil change in white noise and the recoil overhaul in grim sky were to of the worst changes this game ever made. The older recoil physics were much more realistic.
lair is much more of an affront to humanity than tubarao is it's like fortress but everything that's wrong with fortress turned up to 100 and it's also in ranked. definitely the worst ranked map, and one of the worst maps overall imo
I know that the for the new season, the only thing (I think) that will be good is the standard map choosing. Everything else is gonna be disliked or downright hated.
Black beard just had a shitty launch. It's a good idea to have a rifle shield ability in a game like this. It's all about thinking ahead and thinking tactically. Of course, you're gonna wanna protect your head from the gunfire. His rifle shield is fine. It just didn't need to 2.9 billion hp. And didn't need to get nerfed into the dirt.
Ok so I started playing R6 around start/mid of Para Bellum, but I swear, the Clubhouse rework was after that, somewhere between then and Neon Dawn as that’s when I stopped playing
Operation north star dislike for me, Shatter bulletproof glass, Basically killed maestro. His gadget was meant to be that gadget that's left off site and you need to be smart on how you dealt with it. now it's just a cam that sits on site or it's useless. The nerf should have been temporary at most, including Mira.
Nothing has been worse for siege than Ranked 2.0, the 1.5x, and Lion Also can't believe you didn't mention the throwable buffs to C4 and Smonk, the nerf to Valks canon arm the outside gadget nerf, so many things that could have been in an honourable mentions category
Too late now. Almost all the weapons feel crappier. C7E, fuze AK, Mp4, ash and jaeger guns. I just don't feel the same playing them anymore. I bought all season passes except this one and I'm glad because if I bought it without seeing roadmap it'd be scam of the year. And they seem to remove it and now I'm not spending a penny on this game. Catering to too much pro league screwed the game feel and weapon balance for me and not to mention cheaters are everywhere. Also the whole gay trans LGBT stuff put me off. It was unnecessary in this game except for pandering and ESG points.
kinda funny how tower is one ofmy favourite maps specifically because of its imbalance. casual is already meant to be for having fun and not thinking competitively, just fucking around. sweating around and being pissed about the map being imbalanced feels out of place in casuals. it definetly doesnt have a place in ranked though ofc
22:32 Lowkey I feel like the nade change wasn’t for the best. If the problem was depth charging (that’s what you call going beneath a cooking the nade), they should’ve nerfed depth charging. Don’t get me wrong, frags are still very useful for killing utility and flushing people out of positions, but it underpowered the attackers in a state of the game where attackers were (and to this day still are) on the back foot.
Phantom Sight is still the worst siege season still to this day, the changes they implemented for Ranked were a plus, but that’s it. on console they allowed DDOSSing to run rampant the ENTIRE season and didn’t address it until Ember Rise. playing ranked on console was 10/10 impossible to play
I disagree parabellum had one of the better seasonal skins to be added to the game with spqr skin. The only seasonal skin that was for shields. Would also say grim sky was the season where they fixed recoil so that you could aim after firing the first shot.
You were so wrong about operation health. At the time the game was so broken. It crashed a lot. People were leaving the game because of this. It sucks that we didn’t get any new content for all believe it was six months but a lot of what came out of operation health was so good, it cannot be understated
Not directed at you, but I absolutely love how CoD people playing Siege hates people "ratting" in corners. My brother in Christ, this is a tactical shooter and not Call of Booty. In an actual tactical setting, you will be sitting in a corner while watching a doorway. So in other words, womp womp cry about it some more. That's what you sign up for when you play a tactical FPS
I'm a cod fan boy but recently got into r6 through a friend and holy shit, how does a flash bang still blind me when my back is against it and I'm rounding a corner, for a tactical shooter, that does not make sense AT ALL
@GL1TCHT0N_RETRO flashbangs used to have the opposite problem, actually. Before they reworked the flash effect entirely, you could stare right into it and not be affected. Think of flash effects like shotguns. They either do fuck all or they're incredibly good. A middle ground is hard to achieve for effects like that while having the limitations of what consoles can handle and keeping memory requirements to a minimum. As far as flashes go, it's the best Ubi has gotten
@@KingKiwi5150man, thats better, than not flashing anybody at all tbh Flashes still works like shit sometimes, but at least most of the time it's great attacking tool. Also, thats kinda encourages better positioning and helps to learn siege faster
So he has an issue with the Trajectory Previsualization because it lowers the skill ceiling, but considers the Frag Grenade rework to be a good thing even though that also lowered the skill ceiling? My guy is fence sitting, do you want a higher or lower skill ceiling because you can't say you want both.
Yeah, could have figured the Ash ACOG bullshit would be in here. They removed it because of people run and gunning with the best weapon on attack and a fast character with a wonky hitbox, it was a good thing. Not that it's back you just see people with recoil macros using it with no bounce and it's just as annoying as before. Fuck that revert.
I read some comments I think people failed to realize the video is about his opinion on each updates (which will be biased on his playstyle and yadayada) But really missed 1.5x tho
Another note about quick match, you cannot play quick match until lvl 10 which makes no fucking sense. If the goal was to teach new players ideas for setting up site why can’t they play it? If it is the least serious game mode, why can’t they play it? Standard is played reasonably competitively now that ranked is littered with cheaters.
The trajectory pre-visualization is a great change for the game. I feel like it actually allows new players to learn how things move instead of just being thrown into a game with zero friendliness for new comers.
2:34 is when I started, so happy to have experienced old siege
trajectory pre visualization isn’t over powered and nade cooking shouldn’t have been taken out, they should have made it so c4 and nades don’t kill you through floors
The game director said they would not rework house. He said they knew it was broken and that's why the community and the devs liked it. Said it was a classic. 2 season reveals later it was announced reworked
QM site set ups are so much better now than in release (also new players are more pushed to play standar than qm)
Hating on favela is crazy. That map was so fun💀
The DBNO Change was ok but I don’t like the fact when you down someone it doesn’t tell you if their injured or not it just feels like an nuisance more than anything having to worry if they are down or just didn’t take enough damage.
22:20 But quickplay is unlocked at level 10, so new players will have to load into a standard and set up sight at the start.
Christ bless you all, this is a nie refresher since I've been gone for a while. Thanks
"oh yeah i like the removal of the frag grenade cooking because defenders only need to move their asses whenever the attackers got fuze"
I personally really liked sens, his utility is good for some cases like blocking sight. Yes, its not the best but it does have uses, i also liked the gun, it was definitely bad at the time, but not terrible. Only thing bad about it was the recoil in my opinion
One thing i hate about R6 is their servers
How did the Oregon rework become your Void Edge like? Iana and that 🎂 of hers was the high light.
He doesnt like off brand operators like iana and all new op's basically and i agree they look stupid
What i like about the season: The op, or the good map
What i don't like about the season: The op, or the bad map
Only bad takes are the death match, flash rework, reload change, and nade rework
Death match is my go to game mode to warm up.
That’s why I love emerald plains because it has a Christian cross and I love Jesus
I still see people turning around to avoid being flashed to this day
genuinely wondering cus i can’t watch the whole video what should i do then??
@@Robin17333if it lands next to you, turning away won't help at all. The only thing you can do is look at the door or window or rotate the flash is coming from and trying to hear the footsteps or just blindshoot a whole mag to often get a nice lucky kill
@@Smaffer-bi6ot it's not completely useless. Flashes have a radius where whether you look at them or not they still blind you, but if you are far enough it blinds you only if you actually look at it.
great video! lots lots lots of things i disagree but cool format video anyway hahahha
Blackbeard was so annoying on release, his shield was basically impossible to destroy
1.5 was good, just Ubisoft gave it to operators who already had great guns, but other than that the 1.5 was just a fun sight to use.
I would be 100% fine if they just removed Yacht & Tower from the game.
And weirdly I dislike the Favela rework more than the original personally.
Trajectory previsualization is such a good feature tbh I shouldn’t have to get out a ruler to line up a quick C4 toss plus everyone gets access to it
A bunch of these changes weren't made the season you said they were. 2fa in ranked for example definitely was not a grim sky change
I think the pistol recoil change in white noise and the recoil overhaul in grim sky were to of the worst changes this game ever made. The older recoil physics were much more realistic.
"Ace had a crazy gun, which was a first for hard breachers."
Type-89: Am I a joke to you?
Fr AND hibana also had the Supernova shotgun - one of the best
lair is much more of an affront to humanity than tubarao is it's like fortress but everything that's wrong with fortress turned up to 100 and it's also in ranked. definitely the worst ranked map, and one of the worst maps overall imo
🗿20:51 🗿mistake 🗿he was done talking about the reload change he was talking about the grim buff🗿and it stayed throughout fenrir’s thing🗿
black ice he says: "the content was a little lackluster"
DUDE WE GOT 2 OPERATORS AND A NEW MAP, WTF YOU SMOKIN
I know that the for the new season, the only thing (I think) that will be good is the standard map choosing. Everything else is gonna be disliked or downright hated.
I’m watching this instead of studying for finals 👍
You a real one 💙
Bruh. The recruit rework rework is still the same lmao. Ubisoft be cooking up some poison for us
Nothing has been worse for siege than Ranked 2.0, the 1.5x, and Lion
Also can't believe you didn't mention the throwable buffs to C4 and Smonk, the nerf to Valks canon arm the outside gadget nerf, so many things that could have been in an honourable mentions category
Unpopular opinion. We should focus more on casual then ranked
Kali on coastline is so annoying bc you have to hide in a corner to not get sniped
kinda funny how tower is one ofmy favourite maps specifically because of its imbalance. casual is already meant to be for having fun and not thinking competitively, just fucking around. sweating around and being pissed about the map being imbalanced feels out of place in casuals. it definetly doesnt have a place in ranked though ofc
22:32 Lowkey I feel like the nade change wasn’t for the best. If the problem was depth charging (that’s what you call going beneath a cooking the nade), they should’ve nerfed depth charging. Don’t get me wrong, frags are still very useful for killing utility and flushing people out of positions, but it underpowered the attackers in a state of the game where attackers were (and to this day still are) on the back foot.
can no longer kobe!
I started right after demon veil and hearing that attacker republic was added that late in the game is just so bizarre to me
I have no problem with the reload change but I am one who does not press R as soon as I have shot.
I do it out of habbit I got caught lacking too many times
Phantom Sight is still the worst siege season still to this day, the changes they implemented for Ranked were a plus, but that’s it. on console they allowed DDOSSing to run rampant the ENTIRE season and didn’t address it until Ember Rise. playing ranked on console was 10/10 impossible to play
You are the first person I've come across that has a positive opinion of Nighthaven.
Deathmatch is one of the best things rainbow has ever added
For deep freeze the thing I disliked most was the removal of t-hunt
Cannot be the only one here
I disagree parabellum had one of the better seasonal skins to be added to the game with spqr skin. The only seasonal skin that was for shields.
Would also say grim sky was the season where they fixed recoil so that you could aim after firing the first shot.
one thing i don't understand
why they don't bring back outbreak event?
Cause they have a whole game surrounding it
The made a whole game around it so they will never bring it back unfortunately
They bring back the outbreak event sometimes but it’s not like it used to be. Earlier in the season they added it back
@@PayzTheSithGamer He means outbreak not containment event, they are 2 diffirent events
the attachment change in deadly omen was honestly bad, Im sorry but horizontal grip and angled grip are so useless.
Great video.
I appreciate it 💙
You were so wrong about operation health.
@@khub5660 I know but it's annoying being ying'd while I was rounding a corner and my backs turned
@@KingKiwi5150man, thats better, than not flashing anybody at all tbh
Flashes still works like shit sometimes, but at least most of the time it's great attacking tool.
All the maps I like are universally hated… man lol
Yeah, could have figured the Ash ACOG bullshit would be in here. They removed it because of people run and gunning with the best weapon on attack and a fast character with a wonky hitbox, it was a good thing. Not that it's back you just see people with recoil macros using it with no bounce and it's just as annoying as before. Fuck that revert.
Get good
I read some comments I think people failed to realize the video is about his opinion on each updates (which will be biased on his playstyle and yadayada) But really missed 1.5x tho
When did the lighting in siege go to crap?
Another note about quick match, you cannot play quick match until lvl 10 which makes no fucking sense. If the goal was to teach new players ideas for setting up site why can’t they play it? If it is the least serious game mode, why can’t they play it? Standard is played reasonably competitively now that ranked is littered with cheaters.
And it still said reload change instead of fenrir.
When he said he disliked grim the top still said sens.
