Lymphoid malignancies are divided into leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloma.
We divide lymphomas into Hodgkin's lymphoma and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Hodgkin's lymphoma commonly affects the cervical and anterior mediastinal lymph nodes.
All things being equal, the prognosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma is better than that of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Hodgkin's lymphoma is associated with EBV.
There is contiguous spread among adjacent lymph nodes.

@Medicosis Perfectionalis I had thyroid cancer 3 years ago. The cancer was all in the left side of the thyroid. The whole thyroid was removed, and it was decided I didn't require radiation. But about a year ago a lymph node under the left side of my jaw started to hurt, especially after drinking alcohol and sometimes swells to the about the size of a large marble. And I've been having terrible night sweats as well. I haven't gone to see a doctor.

I have been truly enjoying your videos and i commend you for making them, two aspects i like are the big picture overview and how you remind us of things that are off topic(like cancers than can be caused by EBV) this is a very student oriented method, however i find myself wishing for more structure in your videos say Pathophysiology first then evolution, diagnosis etc. This is an observation i've made multiple times so perhaps you'd like to consider it.

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis Oh no worries. I did and continue to follow up. I’ve had PFTs, EKGs, routine CBCs with diff, and get routine follow ups. Everything looks pretty normal and I’m healthy. But I never really received a solid answer to why I have this pain. I’m thinking perhaps residual effects of ABVD more specifically Bleomycin maybe Pulmonary fibrosis. Who knows. I’m just searching for peer reviewed studies and patient testimonials about late effects of chemo because this inquiring mind wants to know. Any who, thanks for advising me to see a doctor. 👍🏽

I am 23 years old. I almost died last year from EBV. I was on 2 immunosuppressants for autoimmune disease and the medications suppressed my immune system so heavily that my body was struggling to fight the virus. I went into liver failure, I had blood clots, and I was having heart complications. I have fully recovered after getting off all the immunosuppressants. Other than swollen lymph nodes that have not gone down since I was sick last year. I know my chances of ebv related cancer are high… it’s hard thing to digest

And now last year after noticing a strange swelling lymph nodes near her shoulder, she got diagnosed by Hodgkins Lymphoma after taking 5-6 chemotherapy seatings her lymphocytes and monocytes came to normal.
but now very often she feels swelling in her Lymph nodes at the same place...
Is there anything life threating for her ?

I thought NHL would more likely have a leukemic component and go to the bone marrow which would make Vinblastine more useful? Or did i make a wrong turn there somewhere? I've had blood tests and they've come back okay. But I'm still just worried. I sometimes get a weird discomfort in my left side just above my spleen and it lasted for about 4 weeks. Then went. Then 6 months later. Came back again for another 3-4 weeks then went. Other than that I've not had any symptoms and are a healthy teen. But it just worries me. All the nodes are soft and Moveabke. Ranging in size with the biggest being abkur 2cm. Does anyone else have the same problem ?

Hi Sir it's 15 year's since i had treated only with chemotherapy... Not radiotherapy..
Now im 25 years old.. When i do some research about this in Google a year ago it tells that i have high chance of affecting other cancers...
Till that day i can't focus on my studies, i can't able to sleep peacefully, i can't enjoy my life even i cannot even laugh.. That is always running in my mind..
Please clarify can i affect by cancer again🥺🙏

    Hey,
I have had hard movable lymph nodes for months now but aren't as big as some sites say (they are less than a centre metre but are more noticeable than ever before) and a hard bump at the top right of my spinal cord(near where it connects to the head). I had small patches of small red spots that have gone away (on my biceps and small patches on the inside of my thighs). I was quite itchy everywhere about a week ago but I'm not getting a fever, cold sweats, fatigue and the other symptoms websites state.
    What should I do.
