Here is the UPDATE and UPGRADES video for this table ua-cam.com/video/Eix0nr2vI1M/v-deo.html Also, For those interested in the Forney multiprocess welder I use, here is a link. Forney sells welders, plasma cutters and just about any other metal working tool you can imagine! bit.ly/2LjRRqH
sir,you can use angles on the periphery of the table top as on one side of angle will flush with side of table , however the flange will cater you to clamp with welding clamps and C- clamps, rather than going deep underneath the table top and open wide the clamps
Does IMS sell the caster base plates or did you DIY those? I live close to their San Diego location and I'm in there often but have never seen them. Really nice table, it's a good design. I'm building one soon along with a welding cart. Also, I may have missed it, what size / thickness did you use for your top plate?
I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.
The magnets to hold the drawers secure is fantastic. Smart idea to make the top easier to remove as you decide how you want to modify it. Also- I agree with using the table for a while and seeing where you might need to make adjustments, rather than getting everything 100% done and realizing later that you would rather have had something work in a different manner. Two thumbs up!
I love that you always put what you did wrong, what you would do differently and/or what you’re going to keep an eye on. It’s my favorite thing about your videos. We can see all the successes (& there’s a lot!) for the most part...thanks for showing all sides of the project. Your UA-cam presentation/process is as good as your projects. Well done once again. 👍🏼
Thanks so much! That means a lot!! I just want to show all aspects of it.. because I usually end up finding that certain things work just as I thought and some not so much... like the stops. In my mind I was like that's perfect! I can level the bench and make it perfectly stable. But they aren't perfect.. I need to add feet to them and/or figure out a mechanism where they drive a hinged piece of steel down to create a more stable stop.. but for now they work well... just not as quick and easy as I originally thought :D
I gotta tell you that most of your vids are rehashes of other videos for me but as a guy who welds a lot and is always trying to find space to weld this is brilliant I will definitely be building something very close to what you've done here thank you for your vid and please don't take my comment as an attack it's not
I thought I had my mind made up on how to build my welding table. Then this guy roles this out. Thanks for stopping me and making me totally rethink my project!
Bugga..where were you 45yrs ago when I built mine, which I've cursed, used and loved ever since. Mine was a "suck 'n' see job", yours is a "hell mate, I know what I'm doing job". A great fabrication job, with thought and expansion built into it.
Thanks Robert! I enjoy building things like this but once I build one or two then my mind wants to work on other things... lol... I have thought about making custom things on the side... 'one of a kind' things so i don't get bored making multiples...lol
Great job on this table. I will try to make one like this for my everlast welder equipment. I love the fact you can put portable power tools on the sliding portions. That is an excellent use of space.
WOW. FANTASTIC. Thank you. I'll be making a new work/welding table. and following your lead. lol Finally I make "your" welding table. Thank you. I just love it. Your creations are inspirations. I wish I was imaginative. I can duplicate but designer I am NOT. Again thank you for sharing your skills/creations.
thanks Dan! It did keep me awake at night thinking about the options and possibilities...lol... that's the hardest part of these projects is figuring 'what' I want to do :)
Great little table. I may steal your inspiration for my shop. If you run your 'stabilizers' down and then do a little whaling (beating with a hammer) you might end up with divots out of a concrete floor. Maybe something as simple as a small piece of plywood...just a pad.I really like the swing out drawers.I like your channel and I like your place and what you are doing there.
thanks! yes, do steal.. I put vids up with hopes that it might inspire other projects so go ahead for sure :) .. and yes, the stops will get some feet at some point... I've thought of rubber and wood ones and maybe even a welded on circle too... I just kind of hit a point that I wanted this thing done for the time being.. which is why nothing further is done to them for now...lol.. but future upgrades will address that for sure :)
@@homesteadonomics Great design! What are those threaded brackets called, that you used for the leveling bolts? By the way, you might consider "wrap around" extension hinges so the drawers can swing out parralel with the front face.
Nice table for light duty work. I really like the swing out trays !!! Great place for grinder wrenches and flap wheels. Quick and easy to get to. You may want to add two to the other side. Love what you did with the magnates to keep drawer shut.
thanks Ron! it was a lot longer than most of my build vids so I was hoping it didn't drag too much ...lol... my voice isn't the smoothest for voice overs..lol
That is flat-out the coolest, most intelligently laid-out welding table ive ever seen. And I've seen a few! Just put a few openings for clamps and Bob's yer uncle!
Nice work Joe! I saw the photos recently on Instagram. More inspiration. I'm currently building a chicken "drinker" system. These last chicks we bought are working me too hard. Investment of time to save time.
Thanks Mark! I have some future planned upgrades too... but I wanted to get it in use for the time being:) Great to here you are doing the chicken waterer... I love mine and it's just so nice not to have to fill up water every couple of days!! :)
Nice job. What about welding on a grounding lug to the top for your ground cable so that the whole top is grounded.Sometimes its hard to get a part clamped, but contact with the grounded with complete the circuit, Just sayin'. :-)
that's on my list of upgrades... I will probably just bolt a piece of copper flat bar onto one of the mounting tabs under the top so the clamp is always out of the way... i just left it like this because i needed to get this project done so I could start on the next one... lots of projects i'm trying to get done so i can start on my camp trailer this winter (hopefully:)
I live in Tucson and just found IMS. It is my new favorite place in the world. An adult candy store that I can spend hours in just looking at all their inventory. In fact, I have a delivery coming today! I can’t wait to start cutting and welding. 😃
thanks!! it's an evolution Rage 2 saw with a multipurpose blade. They are a lower RPM saw to use those blades... unfortunately you can't put that kind of blade on a regular chop saw. but I really like it a lot!!
Thanks Gord! Yes, a beer holder was considered...lol.. and I even had a bottle opener that was considered... but a vise is definitely a possibility too. I'm gonna see how I like the top first and if I could dedicate some space to one.. or maybe have one mounted to a plate that I can set on the table or something like that:)
My local metal shop hooked me up with a lot of the steel. But I used things I already had on hand too... but I'm guessing start to finish it would be a few hundred to build it with eveything purchased ... maybe a little less. Just a ball park... hope that helps:)
Great job.. I built something similar for a friend about 7 years ago and I put rubber from a tire on to a piece of 2x2x1/8 flat bar and welded it to the bottom of the leveling legs. Again Great job. 2 THUMBS UP.

thanks Jess! You can now come and take lessons on the new table whenever you want:)
You mean lessons on how to slide on your back/jump over it? Um, no thanks. LOL, just kidding. I'm down for some welding lessons!!
pull out end stop bits are very clever

2:39 holy smokes, did you see that spider!
Wow! Now I got the creepy crawlies lol
That has got to be one of the best home made welding projects I have ever seen. Very educational, Thanks.
Thanks so much! I'm happy with the way it came out for sure... already using it on the next project;)
That turned out really cool. Nice work! I was going to suggest a magnet for the drawers but you went and did it already. 👊
You know it's a good video when JRE is commenting on it
I thought I had my mind made up on how to build my welding table. Then this guy roles this out. Thanks for stopping me and making me totally rethink my project!

This is cool table, the shipping container lights are working for you so you can work at night when its cool. nice
yes, they are!! It was cool to get some really good use out of them... I'm thinking of installing a couple more when i get some extra money :)
Couldn’t help but notice that creepy spider at 2:35.
Love the table btw.
Another masterful job of design and build. Really great work.
thansk so much william !!!
Done welding cart. I am doing this next. Like the design. Well done.
That thing is a work of art! Nice job!
Thanks mark!!! I appreciate it :)
That cat sized spider is checking their new workbench-home, maybe you must close these ends with plastic inserts after all... :) Good job !
Beautiful design. Looks awesome
thanks Sam:)
Very nice table....giving lots of good ideas!!
Unbelievable! Such beautiful work. You could make good money on the things you make. That's a two-thousand dollar table.

You Sir are very talented, I've truly enjoyed watching all your videos and different projects.
Thanks Raymond! they are certainly varied in subjects.. lol... but that's the way i like it ;)
are we not gonna talk about the GIGANTIC spider at 2:36?!?
Nice project. Love the swivel drawers!
Thanks Scooter! I was the most excited about those for this build.. just wanted something a bit unique:)
That is a seriously professional built in my opinion Joe. Well done.
thanks Charl! I think it's gonna see a lot of good use over the years :D
Nicely done and looks great.
thanks Harki!
joe
Best welding cart definitely going to build this.
Awesome job!!!! You put a lot of thought into that.
thanks Dan! It did keep me awake at night thinking about the options and possibilities...lol... that's the hardest part of these projects is figuring 'what' I want to do :)
Very good workbank weld. Pratic and beautiful.
Friend, I would simply become a fan of your work, congratulations, incredible this table, if I could, I would make an equal.
Thanks Rodolfo! I appreciate the kind words sir:)

Excellent ideas! The best welding table I have seen!
thanks Thomas!

thanks so much! and good luck on finishing yours gary!

Wow that a really nice welding table. Best I've seen so far. That's made at home very cool
thanks so much mark!
Great Build! Thank you for your time investment to make this video.
Thanks Robert! Thanks for checking it out sir! :)
Joe
Very very good work !!! hope I would make similar one. I like it some much. Greeting from Poland!! Ones again GREAT WORK !

Beautiful work!

Dude that is a kickass table!!!!!!! Great job welders right hand....
Big spider 🕷 behind you at 2:39. 😄
Haha i was wondering if anyone else saw that thing. Geeze that was a big spider.
Ah, just a wolf spider.. We have a lot of those, I try to put them outside when I catch them in the house.
I was just about to say the same thing
siêu nhân
The spider looked nervous, kind of like it didn't want to be on camera lol.
its always a good idea to weld in short sleeves.. gives that nice farmers tan
beautifully done!!!!
Thanks SLD! :)
joe
Creative design and first-rate execution! Outstanding!
thanks so much!!!
Excellent Welding Table! What projects have you made inside your home ? Looking forward to the playhouse. Your skills never fail to amaze!
Hey nice job, the hinged drawers are kinda a nice idea.
Nice work!
thanks Sally!
Ottimo lavoro bravissimo
*2:34* *Spider!* Aaaaaaaaaaah!
Awesome project. I wish I knew how to weld.
lol... I never even noticed him... but I guess I have a security spider in the shop: )
That's a real sweet table Joe, nice design and a quality build as usual.
thanks Philip! It's already coming in handy... started building cabinets/drawers and been doing it all on the bench:)
This channel is great
Yeah, quite amazing. It should be named "Build amazing stuff and make it look like it's no big deal" ;)
thanks so much HooVerb!
mevofr it's definitely one of the manliest channels i've stumbled upon, ever.
I like the fact that the cut off saw slots in there, nice idea. No more working on the floor.
buenisima la mesa de soldadura
muchas gracias Edguardo :)
Call me crazy, but like see cutting and welding steel... Beautiful work... Keep going.
Nice Spider 2:35

How much would all that steel cost to build a table like that? Including the wheels, hinges, etc....
That's a nice, simple design. Awesome
thanks!!!
Great video! Thanks.
Can you give some detail on the blade in you metal chip saw?
thanks!! it's an evolution Rage 2 saw with a multipurpose blade. They are a lower RPM saw to use those blades... unfortunately you can't put that kind of blade on a regular chop saw. but I really like it a lot!!

Hi, great job
Do you have a plan with dimensions to reproduce this table?
Thx
Very clever!
Nicely done.
Amazing table!!! great job!!!
(check out the spider behind you!! 2:43")
Cool table the adjustable bolts idea is good. It looks like it'll last the test of time. I might copy some of your ideas
Thanks Alex! go ahead and copy what works for you and modify anything else to suit your specific needs :) thanks for watching:)
Great job and design! Did you wing it or rely on any plans for inspiration?
OUTSTANDING design!!!
That is a beautimus welding bench. I bet it weighs a bunch, and most certainly was not inexpensive.
Thanks! it weighs about 250lb I';m guessing
That’s not a welding table. That sir...is a work of art! Congratulations. 👍
So how much total did you spend on this? How thick is the top? Great job!

How thick is the top?
Great work and great presentation. Always a treat to watch.
thanks David! It was really nice to get this project up and rolling... working on the next project using it right now :)
There was a big spider getting some glory shots at 2:36 lol
lol... I never noticed him in the editing but lots of you guys did...I guess he's my shop security:)
Nice design and execution!
thanks Ben!!!
2:35 a friend of yours making an appearance? Creepy!
I saw that too.
Spiderman !
🕷
Ha ha!
Omfg creepy
Just a heads up, I will be copying this table. Awesome design and great craftsmanship. Great job.
Thanks Brian... copy all you want and modify anything to personalize it to your needs. :D

Very well done! Looks extremely functional and well designed.
thanks Samuel!

thanks Douglas!
Good work with nice design
I thought I was seeing things on my screen. I freaked out when I realized it was a spider... I was almost too ashamed to continue watching lol
where and what are you gong to clamp the ground to? and that spider bottom right hand of the screen at 13:39
Una araña en el minuto 2:35 😨jaja
Very nice project.
I really like it .
Great job.. I built something similar for a friend about 7 years ago and I put rubber from a tire on to a piece of 2x2x1/8 flat bar and welded it to the bottom of the leveling legs. Again Great job. 2 THUMBS UP.

you are a good man and a professional
Super! Very good made.
Size of that spider at 2:45 excellent build though. Looks and operates as good as anything shop bought.
bloody nice job that one - I would be pretty happy with that table, well done.
thanks so much GC!

Very nice work and videos!
Lots of good ideas at the end
