Selling a painting online and then packing it to send...

I believe in buying art online!
In this video, I show you what work I sold through Catawiki and how I packed it so it got safely to the buyer.
My name is Astrid Moors, I am of the visual order. And of course I believe in online, since the internet has existed I've been a fan.
Catawiki? I had heard of that but didn't do anything with it. I thought it was all antiques for sale there, a kind of marketplace. But I was surprised to find so much contemporary art for sale there too.
Well, I'll just try it I thought. Nothing to lose. Bottom price a fair price. For less it won't be sold then. The first painting I offered for sale there was this one: make me a forestry. 50X60 cm.
This is how the work came about. Trees, sawn-off trees, atmospheric perspective, hunting canopy, ladder. With a few more details in neon paint, take a look. Here in a few seconds, it did take a few weeks in real life.
Bam, sold immediately. Catawiki gets 12.5%, and of course I still pay 9% VAT.
And then it's packing up to send.
Good thing I still had these corners lying around (from what? I think my mother asked -do you have any use for these? - yes!)
A layer of bubble wrap, a layer of sort of foam wrap (all recycled, nothing bought) and a layer of cardboard, cut to size.
And, of course, my youtube flyer. And a personal handwritten note.
Oh yes, not all is rewcycled, I bought wide tape. And two stickers with 'fragile'.
And quite honestly: I find sending it off rather scary. What if something happens to it? It's much nicer, safer and more fun if you come to my studio to collect the work. Or if it's really big, I will rent a cart and bring it to you.

Dat was een goede eerste ervaring! Ik geloof ook in online verkopen, omdat je bereik zoveel groter is, dus ik hoop dat meer kunstenaars gaan volgen.
Ook het hergebruik is natuurlijk geweldig.
