9:25 whatever they're using may be outdated at the time of recording; I found on Bulbapedia (probably found on other related sources) that Terapagos likely comes from 'terrapin' -- a collective term for several species of small turtle that mostly live in freshwater -- and 'galapagos', namesake of the Galapagos Islands and a Spanish word for turtles.
I'm not sure if others have said this, but I really wish your videos would include going over each missed mon, not just occasionally mentioning one. Part of the reactions to what was missed is a big part of what makes starter videos fun imo.
Whenever you do random abilities, you should just mod the game to make terapagos's terashift form his base form. That way you actually get to play the game with him, and you can still give him a random ability so he actually works in the format.
@@parzival-bo They've already done that, I don't recall who exactly, maybe Luke or Pat, where they send Terapagos in and it tera shifts to a different ability, if you tera it, it gets another ability too. The thing is though is that I think it's a separate mod or something and Tobin probably just didn't bother asking them for it.
I think they have a mod making terapagos have terashift but after it changing into terastal form that one has a randomized ability Instead. I don't know why they didn't use it in this, maybe he didn't ask for his friends for that mod.
@Dragonstorm1234 if you were in their position, would you say gimmick of this generation or be as vague as possible, i would be vague. The Galapagos islands are an archipelago where those turtles live. Even though the base form of Terapagos is dog water compared to the other forms. I would try to make it sound better than it is by making them think that it is a ground type

7:48 kel-tic folklore. Its true celtic is said sel-tic as well, but in this instance when referring to the celtic era, its pronounced kel-tic. The origin of keldio is from the water unicorn looking horse called the kelpie. Hope you all have a good day 😊
Never once heard it referred to as Sel-tic. Only the Scottish football team are called that, every other iteration it's pronounced Kel-tic. Also just a water horse is a Kelpie, nothing to do with a Unicorn 👌
@@ellon1100 as a scot myself, ive heard americans mention a team called the boston celtics, said the same way as the glasgow football club. @deathtrapsnap entirely forgot about the nba team 😂 That's very true it does have a horn but if it's origin is after the Kelpie the horn is just for design arguably. It makes sense however
Kieran is an Anglicized version of the Irish name Ciarán, which comes from the Gaelic surname "O'Ciarán". The name means "little dark one" or "black-haired". It can be traced back to the Gaelic term cearn, which means "dark".
Hey Tobin, this may be unseen but contact Luke! He has a file that lets Terapagos keep its regular ability in order to tera shift but then get a randomized ability after the tera shift and a new one in the form change when terastilized. The same thing also works for Palafin. I think you would benefit from having the program so you can use proper forms of the pokemon

what happens if you use rapid spin on a pokemon with toxic debris? Does the debris activate first, and then cleaned up by the rapid spin, or does the rapid spin clean everything up, only to then have the toxic spikes enter the field?
im preety sure toxic debris goes first then the rapid spins effecct kicks in. I think thats what i remember from when i did a draft league with glimmora.
This man really out here saying there is no origin for turapagos....idk, maybe from the game mechanic terastalize and the turtles from the galapagos Islands....

Imagine a pokemon getting healed by fire/attacks... while any other type has a "burn" while in the terrain

This is the correct definition for the mon. Thank you.
Also teratera is the japanese onomatopoeia for something sparkling, shining. And terapagos is very sparkly and shiny.
I was abt to comment that, it's very obviously based on galapagos island

They figured out how to do that with Palafin, so that'll probably happen at some point. Just give the modders some time.

Normal terapagos has specific stats but it's never meant to go into battle like that so I think it's fair to use his terastal form in the battle.
"Werefolf" LOL .
Bro how did I not see that spelling 😂😂😂

8:46 Terapagos, you could say, Earth (Tera being a name that our Earth is occasionally called) and geographic term for many islands (archipelago)
Except that's wrong, it's Tera as in short for the gimmick of this region and Galapagos like the Turtles
