I watched the original series back in 2020 and it still is one of the best Canadian Wilderness Canoe expeditions I have watched, and I watch a lot of them!!
The wind changing direction on Cabot lake is typical as you approach the coast and cool water. I have experienced this over and over when I canoe toward the West Sea from the central region of South Korea. During the day the wind is flowing toward the west sea and behind us. In the afternoon the land is heated from the sun and there is an updraft and at that time and the warmer wind comes from the cooler west sea toward the interior and therefore is in our face. That is why it is important to get out on the river as early in the day as possible. At the time the wind is behind you and then you can make time. Then rest in the afternoon when the wind is in your face and making progress to the ocean more difficult.
Well. I stumbled across this video, not sure how… Not even much of a canoeist. But I am a fan of wild places, live in one, and I thought your film of the expedition was absolutely delightful. I think it was Dave with the Habs hat? He definitely should have had more airtime, because he had a Habs hat, obviously more erudite. Thoroughly enjoyed it guys, thanks so much. If y’all are ever passing through northern Quebec and need a shower and washing machine…
When I turned 10 in 1977, my father took me on a fishing trip to Labrador. We drove to Baie Comeau, then a float plane to Lac Berte. Dad had done a lot of complaining about the cost at this point. Two weeks of catching native brook trout, hiking, camping(cabin), exploring. We had a really great two weeks. It was sad to go home. We ended up repeating the trip another three times over the next few years. I only ever heard him complain about the cost on the first trip. Without a doubt the best times of my life. Thank you for bringing those memories back into focus.
This is the second time that I've watched this documentary from start to finish. All of the emotions came flooding back. This should be GOATED for raw, Canadian exploration caught on camera. Congrats again to the four of you!
99% of anyone that watches this and would love to do it,won’t or ever will. This was truly in all regards a true trip of a lifetime. The scale and hardship endured would send the toughest of any persons in the other direction. And that says so much of these 4 that made this expedition….. as the years go by, and other trips come and go, it will be hard pressed to impossible to line the planets up to beat this one…. A true testament to skill, perseverance, companionship, and most certainly a passion for wild places, this will go down in the books for Norther Scavenger and this adventure….. bravo
Thank you for all your hard work producing this unbelievable & exciting film 💜 what a journey...what an adventure! I enjoyed every minute of it... well done guys 👏 👍
Modern day Lewis & Clark. Hard to believe. The unnamed creek you portaged to after leaving the Lower Mistastin should bear the name of your choosing. You guys should name it. You earned it. Loved the doc. You guys should be really proud of what you’ve accomplished. Congratulations.
Transiting this section of land is an accomplishment in and of itself. A small number of people have done this before and they deserve respect (imagine doing this in 1750 😲)...... But none have done it in such and way and with such artistry that over 100,000 other humans could share in the experience. On this accomplishment, these men have earned the honor of naming every unnamed lake and river along this path.
Spent most of my day watching the most amazing voyagers ever assembled. What a fine example of grit, determination and humanity in a really screwed up world.
This movie you guys put together was seriously unreal. The footage that you were able to get must have made things even more difficult (drones, battery charging etc.). I was very inspired by your calm and collected approach to dealing with all of the huge barriers that were thrown at you. When the canoe got wedged and flooded I was seriously so tense. You guys were so calm and didn't lash out at each other. Noah's recovery from his illness, Dave's cracked tooth, the overall amount of bugs...damn fellas such composure. Thank you for sharing your experiences, skills and everything in between. Amazing!
I've never binge watched a channel as much as yours. It's on 90% of the day for the past 20 days while I recover from my injuries. Love the calm attitudes, no clickbate type things, the sceneries are beautiful and beautifully put together. Almost makes me feel like I'm there. Motivates me to make more video's for my channel. Cheers from NB.
Canada is brutal, and extremely vast and beautiful. Amazing to think people used to do this before modern equipment. Great documentary, amazingly tough guys.
Wow! What an amazing and epic journey. The isolation must have felt so surreal. While watching this video, I was constantly looking at google maps to get an idea of where they were at. Really great documentary. I couldn’t image doing all that backpacking/paddle while trying to capture it all on film. I can’t wait to watch gateway to the arctic videos and many other adventures to be had. But first, I’m off to my own long weekend camping adventure (albeit not nearly as intense, haha 🤣).
WOW, WOW , WOW,W an amazing journey and I enjoyed it so much , I would liked to e a bird on the bow and see it all with you , such absolutly eautiful scenery , the waterfalls were spectacular , Its hard to express what this journey did for everyone that watched it, but your enjoyment of your surroundings regardless of the hard portages and bugs , those the bugs I have experience they are not ffun, vitamin E cream on yourface will keep them away from your face eyes and neck , works great , God Bless you for making this awesome documentry , we live in a beautiful country , , the Labradorite rock is considered a magical syone with healing properties and good luck and rainbows , Noah I hope you kept that beautiful one you had in your hand ,A truly trip of a life time , and you guys were a great team . congratulation .I hope we get to see more jouneys with the 4 of you here in Canada
Your comradery in the face of adversity was truly commendable. You Guys, was the creator of every moment of this epic journey and you are an inspiration of what can be achieved with friendship and respect for each other. I'm so impressed with your level of determination. YOU ROCK.
You all show us fortunate few how North America used to look everywhere. Makes me a little homesick. I was lucky enough to live in places that were still a little wild but nothing like what y'all get to see. Be safe, God bless and keep'em coming
Such a beautiful adventure thank you guys for sharing the video you four of you did such a good job that was so interesting watching you guys that was incredible take care all of you.
Fantastic journey guy's!!! There's not many out there that could embark on such an epic trip!! Thanks for taking us along to share the wonderful and amazing joy's that are the products of your hard work!!
There really aren't the words available to accurately describe the incredible highs and lows of this adventure. Well done the lot of you for this ambitious adventure and thanks so much for sharing it.
OMG guys! Louis and Clark got nothing on you four! When the bugs were thick around your camera, I caught myself batting invisible mosquitos, a learned impulse from growing up in Vermont...hahaha! Thank you for sharing this amazing journey!
I watched this after a trip across Canada. I have journeyed to the arctic many times, but although the bugs were furious at times, not quite as bad as your journey, but you all prevailed! What a great film loved it! Don’t want to do it, but truly appreciate that you did and shared it.
excellent video , I got to see things I never would have seen. I worked all my life and then retired , I didn't do what you did when I was young like you. Thanks for the journey
Nothing to add that hasn't already been said...but I think we all just want to say thank you personally. Maybe, probably, the best canoe trip expedition-film ever made.
This adventure was unreal! Thanks so much for taking the time to film and edit this into the beautiful movie it is😊 I've watched this series now 4 times, and it never gets old. Can't wait for the new series 🤗. Stay safe out there fellas, and cheers with a Whiskey Brulee 😆!
Amazing adventure. I was there with you guys the entire way through. Made me realize how grateful I am for the small trips I've done in my life. You guys were an impressive team. Thanks for taking the time to document this, that alone must have been major work.
Transiting this section of land is an accomplishment in and of itself. A small number of people have done this before and they deserve respect (imagine doing this in 1750 in a wood canoe😲)...... But none have done it in such and way and with such artistry that over 100,000 other humans could share in the experience.
this is sooo coool and I just started watching this massive movie !!! I've been waiting for so long to see some new videos of you or at least it felt like really long for me. hearing your voices and seeing you in the video feels almost like coming home. I really adore what you guys are doing, all the effort you put in the trips the planing and filming and cutting this tons of material to deliver this quality entertainment is amazing. thank you so much all the best wishes from germany
Thank you for letting my husband and I see a part of Canada's true wilderness, epic journey guys, hope the tooth is ok, and really, this has been epic to watch!!!
I was a firefighter for 28 years working in a busy city where I was fortunate enough to have worked with some highly capable people like you boys who knew how to handle what came their way and worked well as a team. It's nice to see a sincere trip, where adventure is the goal and not the "likes". Keep rockin' it guys, we all need more of this. cheers
This mini series was the reason I started to follow you guys, I just finished watching it the 5 full hours and cannot wait for the Artic Series!, HYPE!!
Awesome video my 2nd time watching and loved it just as much as the first..Thanks for sharing guys and stay safe!...looking forward to the next videos coming !
Thank you all Four of you for including us in your adventure. Great scenery, excellent fishing and humour from all. Take care of your bites when you get back home. Get well Noah. Loved loved this video. Thank you
That last set of rapids before Lac Machault, the background music sounds so calm and peaceful. I can't imagine that that's the way it felt in the cold, fighting the current, not wanting to portage.
Wow, Dudes you take adventure to a new leval! That portage with the canoe stuck in the trees....holy crap. Then the mosquitoes, black flys guys just crazy. Loved watching this adventure....3000 calories a say everyman....very cool! The fishing epic! The views and untouched forest epic! Unnamed rivers....Thanks guys!
We watched this from beginning to end, we just couldn’t stop. What a great trip. A special bonus to have a ‘coors beer commercial’ in the middle of the trip. It just don’t get deny better.
Wow, what an incredible journey. A challenging, inspiring, beautiful, breath taking, and fun experience. You guys are an amazing team; skillful, knowledgeable, interesting, talented, and, survivalists. The peace and freedom you undergo on such a trip is life changing. You really get to know yourself and have a greater appreciation for things in life. I watched the entire video in one sitting, as I couldn't stop. BTW I think Xander Budnick would be a great candidate to join you guys on a future adventure. He has so much in common. Thank you for sharing this fabulous experience. I teared up at the end. And, bless the souls that lost their life in the plane crash. May you always have safe travels.
Hey Fellas! What a great trip! I don't think it's one I'll ever get too but I could almost feel the cold, the wet and the bugs while plopped on my couch in Florida. Thanks for a nice chronicling of an epic trip through some magnificent country. Looks like you were fortunate to have set out with a fine bunch of lads. It's easy to imagine things getting sideways and dammed uncomfortable if just one guy gets a little pissy - and it would be understandable- sort of. Not very productive , but I'm not sure I wouldn't have had a bitchy day or two over the course of that trip. Well done, and thanks again.
I have no clue how this video came across my feed but I am very thankful that it did. The beautiful scenery coupled with incredible daily challenges definitely kept my interest. Got a new follower from the state of Louisiana..
This is one of the best and most interesting things I have seen. The scenery, the insights and the experience you all had is so effectively communicated through this film. Kudos to you all, well done, keep doing this please. One of the best things on the internet for sure.
This is the best movie ever. I wonder how life can be after being free. I once landed in goose bay and looked out across the wilderness and wondered what it was like out there. Now I know. Just breathtaking.
What an epic adventure, something you guys will always look back and cherish. I'm from Maine and have always been fascinated by Labrador, staring at maps dreaming of one day going. Thanks for putting this on UA-cam so we can see what it's like.
While this may be an old video, I watch this video every night as I am going to bed. It’s apart of my nightly routine for sure lol. What a great video still years later! 😊
Undoubtedly one of the best adventure documentaries I have ever watched, this is also a poignant lesson in courage, overcoming hardship, and enjoying life to the fullest! Thank you!
Just outstanding. What a epic adventure. You guys definitely worked for that but what a reward with the brook trout. I am amazed how you work together and never fight (on camera😂). I can’t wait for the next one although I will watch this twice!
This should have a Billion Views! why it doesn't is beyond me! I just watched this start to finish it stands the true Test of time!! I can't even Begin to imagine the up and downs of it all!! some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen in all the videos I watched, you guys surely made a memorable trek together and I hope more people see this for the Knowledge you shared!! Unreal!!
You guys were absolutely amazing. This should be made a Discovery channel documentary. I enjoyed every part of your adventure
I watched the original series back in 2020 and it still is one of the best Canadian Wilderness Canoe expeditions I have watched, and I watch a lot of them!!

Ha, thanks Warren, much appreciated!
This is one of the best and most interesting things I have seen. The scenery, the insights and the experience you all had is so effectively communicated through this film. Kudos to you all, well done, keep doing this please. One of the best things on the internet for sure.
