You are incorrect sir. There were several hundred people their, but in the heat of the day many chose to listen at their campers. This campground sells out every year
Hmm. Interesting observation. It does look like the attendance at that particular moment is kinda sparse, but I wonder if it somewhat of an optical illusion. The geographical area of the audience is huge compared to most of the festivals I've attended, so...hard to make it look full? Usually the crowd area is much smaller than this and when it is full, it would therefore look like lots of people. But I must say that I feel there WERE lots and lots of people who attended in the 60s and 70s. We have some enormous festivals now as well, but they are the biggies, with multiple big name headliners and very high daily pass entry fees. Mostly over on the East coast. But You bring up an interesting question though now in my mind. I wonder what the average festival attendance size is like now compared to 30 years or even 40 years ago? I'm not sure it is easy to compare because so many things have changed. Back then you couldn't "see" a band unless you went to a festival. Yes, you could buy a band's record back in 1975, but even that was more difficult than nowadays where you've got the computer to simply download or listen to a tune anytime you feel like it without even spending money usually. You can also watch groups play now on UA-cam, but back then you wouldn't have any idea what a group actually looked like (other than their album photo) until you went and saw them at a festival in person. I really don't know. Your initial informal subjective observation made me wonder about all sorts of things now.
@@staceywright4368 several hundred is not what it used to be. Mike and the flame keepers on stage should have most everyone there front and center to see and hear.
The definitive version for me was Bill & the Boys on Austin City Limits, 1989.
What an absolute joy it would be to be there 😀!
Not many people there. I remember back in the sixties and seventies these shows would be jam packed.
