- Emi is visiting. After a bit of discussion, she told me its time to sell the SWG Realistic DX-150B receiver. This receiver was featured in early Shortwave girl videos on YT. She has no interest in it and wants to use the funds for other items. So, I am offering it here to all of you first. The receiver was used as a prop. I did not rebuild it. So, it is not perfect but functions. The radio when built required an external speaker. That was awkward for her, so I added an internal speaker. The cabinet shell was painted hot pink. It has sat unused for many years. I noticed some slippage of the bandspread dial, main tuning is fine. She is only here for a short time, so I will have to post it other places if there is no interest. Please message me with your best offer. I will run it by the boss. Funds will go directly to Emi.
DON'T SELL IT! You will regret it years later. Whoever buys it should pay for it and not take it.
I have to disagree. She has agency and free will. If there is genuine regret later on, well, we all live with that.
Pops or gramps you should buy it from her.
I was wondering if she still had her pink shortwave radio! I was hoping so see a video someday of her and grandpa talking back and forth on the ham bands with the receiver and a transmitter. But, as my own young nephew has shown, they have their own interests. Good luck to her in whatever she does!
Wow how beautiful that radio looks Don't sell it! Oh, it has tubes wow that's old! How much to send it to Canada Vancouver!
I tend to agree. Buy her a Michigan tshirt and store it 😉
Do a slight upgrade to a DX-200 receiver, which unlike the earlier DX-150/160 models, the 200's Bandspread is also calibrated for the major International Shortwave Broadcast bands in addition to the Ham bands, which is a definite plus.......
How many tubes does it need?
Wow, I remember when you refurbished it, added a internal speaker, and gave it to her. I'd hang onto to it. I sold my DX-160 when I was young and regretted it. I have another one now but there's nothing like the first one.🙂
