The iPhone 11 has a 100% chance it runs iOS 17 so well and so does three XS they would be perfectly capable of running iOS 18 but apple will definitely stop the 2018 iPhone series to keep a 5 year tradition. Even the iPhone 6s runs iOS 15 so well

I believe you are correct. The older the device and chipset less likely it is to receive iOS support. Do you think the iPad Pro from 2018 will lose iPadOS support? I’ve had mine since early 2019. I’ve been saving my money for the last few months to upgrade and I am waiting for Apple to release new iPad models.

iPads usually receive longer support than iPhones running the same chipset. The 2018 iPad Pro which has the A10 Fusion from the iPhone 7 still gets iPadOS 17 while the iPhone 7 stopped at iOS 15

There is a chance IOS will come for Iphone X series as technically speaking the Chip is capable to run most of the tasks but it will be more Basic.If you look at IOS 17 most on the cosmetic changes came to X series but no indepth as the chips cannot run those.

Apple seems to dropping iOS feature support and sales for at least two series of iPhone per year, which in my opinion there might be less iPhones to choose from in the future. Add one new iPhone to the lineup take two older ones away, do you see what I’m saying?

Xr to xs might not get the ios 18 update. However if it does, it is guaranteed that just like 5s and 6 got discontinued at the same time, the xs and 11 series will definitely not get ios 19

iPhone 15-12 (Including SE3): 100% chance
iPhone 11/SE 2: 70% chance
iPhone Xs: 25% chance
iPhone Xr: 1% chance

@@iDeviceHelp I highly doubt apple will drop support based on touchID given it's going to need the same code for the iPads that will be supported but I'd actually support apple if they decided to drop the iPhone SE 2 because they seemed to release the SE 3 pretty quick compared to the SE 2 and if there's not an update to the SE line up soon it could look towards a mistake apple made and they could drop it sooner than they initially planned. Obviously that could also mean the 11 could be dropped too

Very stupid video. iPhone 12 was still being sold the last year on the official apple webpage. The chances for this device getting the update are about 99.99% as well as for iPhone 11. iPhone 10 is still risky and I doubt that it will receive the update but you can all be sure that iPhone 12 will be getting at least 2 additional years of software support.

not all features are available on all the devices. Iphone 8 got iOS with half features on his last big update. So the "5 years major update" is partially correct.
