What is the difference between growing in the greenhouse? With trees in ground and the potted figs? I’m going to put up a high tunnel and wondering how if any problems arise inside?
in ground trees get bigger and grow like crazy .. potted trees will grow depending on how you feed them but will fruit a few weeks earlier then in ground trees... potted trees need water every day in ground trees dont need water everyday....you will get way more fruit from a in ground tree vs a potted tree and the in ground fruit is larger and taster then the potted tree.... honestly in ground is better... more larger fruit .. more larger leafs... more larger cuttings with less fertilizer and water
How close are the in ground fig trees? Since the trees grow quickly in ground, how much pruning do you do once they are dormant? If you do pruning, do you have any Breba?
@@lukeott58 my trees are in 7ft row trees are 9 ft apart... i prune them hard down about 2 ft tall and cover them with 2 inch Styrofoam box.. it gets to 0 F in the winter .. dont get any breba to speak of....but if you dont cut and cover them they will die back which you dont want cause you dont get as early or as much fruit..
Yes I do you can get on my mailing list at fignfruit@yahoo.com it will be late oct early nov and everyone on the list will get a 10 day head start at the best first choice cutting before i put them one sell to the rest of the public
