Love how you talk slowly, with every word enunciated. Calms me down. (I'm a fan of Tae, too, and his equally calming voice.) So. Right. My Keychron K6 (non-aluminum, non-hot-swappable, Brown switches, RGB-lit) should arrive next week (it's my gateway drug into mechanical keyboards, as it will be my first). Space on my desk is tight, so, it was either the K6 or the Akko 3084, but given what you'd laid out - the good, the uber-crucial, the bad, the annoying, the barely tolerable, the can-live-with, etc. (not just in this video, but in your other ones), it was the K6 for me. I'm a hover typer so the chonky boy's height, hopefully, will not be a problem. (And I'm getting the wristrest I saw in your vids.) Hats off to your channel.

Today as 2nd July 2020, I bought it the Keychron K2 and they have changed the design a little bit. Now, it has a natural angle like K6 and 2 levels for kickstand for angle and cable is braided. Also, legends are similar to K6. However, I didn't see any visual changes on their website. Btw, loved your review too :)
Edit: I don't know the Bluetooth version yet. If I can manage to figure out, will update here. Thx.
Edit: The aluminum frame is now dark (navy) blue (just a bit shiny).
Edit: The keyboard has come with keyboard plastic cover for keeping dust away.

Thanks for the review. I think I'll go with K2 + PBT keycaps. I'm switching from budget 50$ GK64 since the cost for a decent PBT keycap plus a mechanical keyboard is almost the same as getting the K2, so why not.

  • @warnacokelat
    @warnacokelat 4 роки тому +7

Just got my K2 with PBT keycap today. I can confirm that they have updated the K2 height. Now the front of the keyboard is only 22mm tall (32mm including the keycaps) and the back of the keyboard is 32mm (42mm with the keycap). They are no longer 0 angle. The keycap also looks like a tad bit shorter, looks like cherry profile I think?
The K2 now also have 2 angle kickstand just like the K6. However the PBT keycap is awful looking.

Nice. I'm waiting for my K6. When I ask the seller why my order delay, they said that K6 has an issue about pressure when changing switch. It's about last design (maybe your kb) force-resistance is 4kg. So, when someone is newbie may causing the keyboard to be damaged. They changed a little bit on design to increase the force-resistance to 5.5kg. I'm preparing everything (keycap, switches,...) and ready to receive this keyboard. Your video makes me so excited :))

@@SwitchandClickOfficial I've bought a SA Maxkey Foundation set to replace the stock keycap immediately. I tested K2 before. As you said in this video, K2 and K6 used same keycaps. Stock keycaps are really terrible. Maybe, I'll find some PBT keycap to try. About switches, I'll lube and install film to stock switches first. I want to know how much a stock keyboard can be improved before change anything (except keycaps😂). Happy to hear that stock stabilizers are good (Stab of K2 I tested is very bad). Can you advise some keycap sets and linear switches to use with K6? I love the color same as your K2 keycap.

Do you find any difference between bluetooth 3.0 and 5.1 in terms of reconnect/pairing speed, latency etc?
I have a Filco Convertible 2 TKL and a Varmilo VB21M. The Filco reconnects within 1-2 seconds the moment I hit any keys, while the VB21M takes more than 3-4 seconds.

Just ordered a K2. The 75% board market isn't as wide as the TKL and the 65% ones but it's the layout that feels the best for me.
Sadly we can't have it all yet huhu (no hotswap or better ergonomic options yet) but I prioritized the layout, wireless (most modern wireless 75% outside of customs I've seen and I plan to use it between a laptop and a tablet) and a sizable battery.

Got K6 a while ago based on reviews on this and other channels. So thanks. Got all options. Solidly built. Looks good. However, it is telling that you swapped out the keycaps on your keyboards, because for me this is the one serious issue I have with the Keychron K6. The fonts are small and thin. Symbols, numbers, punctuation can be very hard to read even with backlighting which is ineffectual. So now I fork out another $39 for replacement keycaps?

Hello! Been subbed since I found your channel from the Austin Keyboard build. I'm looking at the K4. I don't type much, but I do use the Num Pad, so the K4 is my choice. I see you mention using Razer keycaps on these keyboards, so I'm looking at the Razer Phantom keys. Any specifics about compatibility issues? They do come with the small Shift keycap, but I don't see the small "0" Num Pad keycap. Leaving it as it is will probably be fine for me, but are there any other keycaps you would recommend in a black theme? Quick question. I’m still confused on which keyboard I should get. Should I get the K2, K4, or the K6? I know you said that the K2 had the best layout of the three, 75% if I’m not wrong. However you said that the K6 was optimal if you wanted to swap your switches. I’m not necessarily set on changing my switches, I think the Gateron Browns are fine. So should I just go for the K2? I don’t think the K6 is any more advanced than the K2 is, but idk

    Hi,
I just received my new K4 today’s. However, I have an issue where my “left shift key” output is not functioning when I combined with all the 2nd row from bottom keys (i.e zxcvbnm,./) - usually to Capital the letter
Do you encounter any issue like this? Is it normal?

Hi I am set to buy the K4 because of the number pad. And based on your other videos, i liked the brown switches among the three and I would prefer to have an RGB. But because im from the Philippines, the reseller that i was able to locate only has (1) the brown switches for the white LED and (2) the blue switches for the RGB. I dont know which one to choose. Haha i am a first time buyer of mechanical keyboard, been using logitech k380 for the longest time. Thank you!!!!
