Once again a great video Gary. Nice to see the WPS being used for something other than the in cylinder stuff that has filled our in boxes for 2 years now
At least you have some known good waveforms. Hopefully you'll be able to catch it in the act. The hardest part of diagnosing any type of automotive system is to know what your looking at is good or not. Especially when it comes to analyzing waveforms and scan data. That can only come with experience and knowledge.
A few days ago I've done the same hpfp test on jaguar xf 3.0 diesel and if I remember rise time was 171ms to max pressure. I enjoy how calm and precise you speak and explain what you do. Knowledge and the right tool for the right job are key. I have two intermittent jobs right now and its all ok all the time 😁. Cheers!
A lengthy process but I guess once you eliminate things one by one it will narrow down what the culprit is however unlikely. . Had a very similar one to this that was caused by a frayed wire on the engine loom. As the engine rocked when pulling away quickly the loom that was secured to the bulkhead would pull apart causing the cut out. Sussed it out when I realised the the fault never happened when reversing! Might be worth a wiggle test round the loom.
Just finished up on this same exact Engine. Injectors and PCM failure. Replace mechanical pump and rail pressure sensor. Working great so far. What voltages did you get out of the pressure sensor. Plus did you test scope the fuel regulator?
Can understand at the end the diagnostic , so clever . I watch this stuff over and over yet it don't click .

Thanks for sharing Garry, love the content you bring 👌🏻
Great video, people don’t realise it all takes time to diagnose problems..
yep think its all been already said but love to watch you doing these types of diagnosis. Keep them coming
Great video. Thanks for taking the time.
Time to give it back to the customer and wait really. thanks for sharing I learnt something new today
Sounds like the stop start was doing its thing 😂
Love watching I like you tricks I’m going to give that max PSI one a Tri.
Mate you are a hero fantastic video yet again
Great video 👍👍👍
Fantastic video again, thanks
Thanks for sharing
Great video Gary I have a question why the test of grounding the pressure regulator work just with bosch piezoinjector system?
Way too much education for free... thanks
Thanks for sharing.

Great video very useful I was just wandering where did you get the t piece adaptor to measure the rail pressure from thanks
It’s part of a testing kit I own
Hi I had Kia with similar problem intermittent cutting out turned out the wiring near the battery tray where damaged had fault codes for injectors
Nice video, subbed.
being bosch system has it not got the rail relief valve on the end of the rail . seen similar and civic 2.2s on the mk2 crv
That’s a cp3 system you’re think of, so no this does not have a PRV on rail
Hi I'm new to scoping. I brought one and don't know where to start. Do you have any advice on how to approach it.
