- Made it down to H-Town where the racing is fast and the weather is hot. We were hoping to break our H-Town curse this year but it didn't pan out that way. Every round we raced we broke something. BUT that didn't stop our team. They kept pushing forward through al lthe struggles. This is why having a great team is so important. We could have given up but our team doesn't know how to do that. Super proud of these guys and girls!

I honestly cannot believe how many times a tire breaking loose, a part failure, or whatever…..has saved you from possibly getting hit by the other car……your guardian angel(megan as it only works when she’s there it seems) is workin overtime! Seriously that’s a win in itself!….okay back to the video…. Ha
Agreed 100% that wreck could have been so much worse. We are very grateful that Gary was not only ok but that our car broke, it could have been awful

The car just doesn't sound right, I don't know if it is the new cam or the lash. Just sounds odd. Noticed it at war in the woods.
Sometimes you are the bug, and sometimes you are the windshield. What a tough weekend, but you still went many rounds with all those failures and the never give up attitude Ryan.
Good people to race with and have in your corner, you'll not find anyone more honest in drag racing or in life in general. Even down to 7 and Ryan's still gapping most, the corvette is consistently fast so you need 8 racing that beauty , mazda to is fast so i think Ryan got a split in that final which is better than just breaking everything and going home empty handed, thank god nobody was hurt...that car that crashed is part of the Jimmy Dale Racing nitrous express crew...all nice guy's...

One thing about losing is the two teams that won in small and big tires are a group of good guys a lot like Ryan's team so the wins went to two deserving teams and that's not so bad if you ask me Ryan.

Do you think the cam is wrong? I have seen BB's where a combination of block expansion, lash, and wrong grind causes the lifter to miss the ramp and bounce.
You would think to prevent the oil down messes, that promoters would start to mandate engine diapers.
Most of them do, now, but this was a freeze plug and antifreeze. Not oil. A diaper probably wouldn't have helped and he might have had one, we don't know...

When you add these two finals to the pile of missed finals, still thinking the backup engine is too much of an investment?
Also Elvira would be better off with twins, instead of a mechanical charger. The street car trim adds weight, and exhaust driven charge loves weight, where mechanical gets no benefit from it.

You can always look into the Block Damon Merchant was using and supposedly its as strong as a Hemi and can handle RPM like a Hemi, I don't recall the Brand because it was hush hush at the time, I know he ran MBE -9 Cylinder heads but like you stated Big $$

i think billy said hes going turbos because of reliability
Turbos definitely have their place, they top end like nothing else. I do think they would do good with pro charger seeing how they have always done well in the 60ft but that will be the great part about the racing is the different combos.
Procharger is also easier to tune for different surfaces.
