Absolutely love these musical score breakdowns, now I even find myself catching recurring themes and leitmotifs when I’m watching movies or playing games. Definitely subscribing to your new film channel
Yay I always love these breakdowns! Giacchino is always so great about using themes and leitmotifs, it's truly a treat. One thing you didn't mention is that the chords to of the Ancient One leitmotif play when Stephen and Benjamin Bratt's character are talking in the basketball court. Additionally, the "Life in Harmony" theme plays in cello at 2:04 (with the love theme) as well as at 25:51 in strings and 27:58 in horn (in counterpoint with the Sorcerer Supreme theme). It also plays on the scene change to Nepal and in when Wong talks to Strange and he puts on his watch at the end of the movie, so it might just be a countermelody associated with Strange/Sorcerer Supreme. Great video!
Ok I might be crazy but at 12:35 and 13:43, that is almost the exact melody of what you’re calling the ‘love theme’ I call this melody the C Phrase of Doctor Strange’s theme. You could be right though :)
Yeah I watch it and listen, and write down each melody along with what is happening on screen while it plays! When the same melody pops up more than once, you just connect the dots and see what they have in common!
Great video! I’m really disappointed with Danny Elfman’s music for the new movie. All of these awesome leitmotifs are absent and the soundtrack is completely forgettable. Even Wanda’s themes from WandaVision were so much better.
I don't know if you've seen it yet, but I'd be interested in hearing a score breakdown for Moon Knight

I like the "Life in Harmony" theme, I'd even say it's the "Life itself" theme. Think it makes it a little more broad.

Thanks for Fireflies! That's my favorite song!
You can make music letimotifs videos for Danny Elfman soundtrack Dr. Strange?? Thank's.
I just watched the 2016 release yesterday. It was very well done
When I was a child, in the 70es, Dr. Strange wasn't a very important hero. Look how much it has changed now...
How do you analyze the music exactly? Like do you buy a score or just watch the movie and use your ear? Or something else?

Analysis of Natalie Holt's work on Obi Wan when?
2:15 its pronounced "juh-keen-oh" he said it himself in his instragram bio😂
Some of these themes sound really similar to the ones from Loki. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the MCU is making the music rather simpatico.
Great video!

I'm diving into the new soundtrack now! I promise I'll find some fun things to listen for even if they're not these themes exactly!
