Also, teams are supposed to have rosters of 16 players, not 15 smh. (I think Lakers have more because they haven’t played some at all, idk). Also, most of the time around 20 players get rings because the players who got traded in the regular season get rings.

Russell wasn't made to win a championship due to this playstyle. He's made to be the second option on a championship team at best. But, he doesn't want to take a step back, winning a championship is such hard work that everyone has to know their role. Unfortunately Russell Westbrook doesn't.

One of the things with Westbrook is that Billy Donavan pushed him to be that player. Under Scott Brooks he was not nearly as bad as this, billy Donavan wanted him to be the guy. The Thunder needed to build a young team around Westbrook, not get more stars. Billy Donavan wanted to get as far as he could in the season but that wasn’t going to work with Westbrook. Billy Donavan and Westbrook was never going to work. So, to answer the question. It was kinda his fault but the coach he had made him “the guy” and he can’t adjust from it

He’s not my favourite player but imagine this... you work your hardest (from being a backup at UCLA) to get to the nba. You get drafted, you give your all on the court every single time. Is his game flawed, yes. Does he need to learn some self control on the court, yes. But the criticism he gets is extremely unfair.

his playstyle, personality and the fact that he is unwilling to adapt are why he gets that criticism. Deserved. He knows what he needs to do, but he prioritizes stats and is loud and arrogant about it. Rubio outscored him in a playoff game and he shot the thunder out of the next game trying to outscore Rubio when Donovan Mitchell smoked him. He is weak mentally. He let Rubio get in his head, he let KD get in his head, he let Lillard get in his head. It's too easy to get him off of his game. He is way too emotional and stubborn to be "the guy"

People will really pin the blame on what they see (they'll ALWAYS highlight the bad games he had, never the numerous good ones nor the variables to his game). I mean, the only real saving grace I can see from this is that other "toxic" players like Dwight and Melo came back strong, and now everyone who shit on them acting like they never hated. I honestly think he'll get there (hoping he'll try his luck in San Antonio).

He ain't put enough work into the weak side of his game, we all know he can take it to the rack and pass the ball extremely well, but if Brook Lopez can develop a 3 point shot, Westbrook should've had it already.

5:50 Correction: You say "As soon as Lebron joined the Heat, Wade kind of accepted the role as 2nd" That only happened after their loss to the MAVS. Lebron took the back seat and then Wade realized it would be best if he was number 2. Both gave way. Nor Harden nor Russ will ever do that.

Westbrook's ball-dominant style and "me first, me only" mentality is what held back the teams he's played on. Imagine if he learned to compromise his game for his teammates. He, KD, and Harden would still be together in OKC and they would've won 2 or 3 championships together.

At some point people have to realize that Russell Westbrook is a six-man. He can bring the offensive punch that a team needs with the second unit coming off the bench. However, his ego won't allow him to Humble himself and play that kind of role for a team. Thus he has become the new generation Adrian Dantley. For the young kids that don't know about Adrian Dantley just look him up when he played with the Pistons. Had a good team contending for title. But screwed it up because he couldn't get his ego out of the way. Ultimately, the Pistons traded him to Dallas. And he never won a championship. Russell Westbrook is on his way to doing the same thing.

This video made some valid points about why Westbrick is not a winner in the playoffs, and why he does not play well with others. However, this video as well as the media as a whole has failed to point out a major flaw in westbrick: The main reason westbrick, in my opinion, will never when a TITLE is because he is a low IQ basketball player. He does not understand situational basketball. I have watched him closely for many years now; he consistently make poor decisions when the game is critical. He consistently interrupts the flow of the offense by taking bad shots, whether he makes them or miss them. For example, the offense can be functioning smoothly with rhythm, instead of Westbrick assessing what the offense need at that time; Westbrick races down the floor fast and out of control, jacking up an unnecessary 3. He has done this throughout his career; and he has done this at pivotal moments in games, both in regular season, and especially in the playoffs. I have seen other high profile great players like Westbrick in the NBA throughout the years who were tremendous athletes, but they had low basketball IQ.
I notice that in this video that lebron and d. wade were mention about their success playing with each other; the real reason why they were able to mesh well together quickly because both lebron james and d. wade were high IQ basketball players. Westbrick and Harden was never going to work out mainly because both players function at a low level at understanding situational basketball, accumulating numbers is not always conducive to achieving success for your team. D. Wade understood that clearly, so his deference to Lebron james was easy. I have said this many times, Westbrick will never win a NBA title for the reason I mentioned.
