Agreed, they're a lovely set of wheels but swapping them devalues both cars. If you want to keep them for a future project buy a regular set of E90 wheels for the 320D and chuck them on a 330/335 one day.
@@simond5208 I wouldn't say it devalues the 130i mate, these are very expensive wheels and are actually an option for the 130i limited edition. The 1 series wheels are in better condition so won't need a refurb before I sell the 3 series
Hi George I have a BMW E87 116d M sport. (Stage1 by Dvx) 187hp/421nm I've installed 15mm spacers, but they are too wide or my wheels (Bmw m763) are too wide with spacers. Now i've got 8mm and it's much better. Maybe you can try 8mm. spacers :) Your videos are really helpful! Greetz from Belgium!
Nice. I went with keeping the originals and getting spacers 10mm on back and 4mm on front (I think) to get the wider aggressive look, all wrapped in Nankang ns2rs!
Like the bbs wheels, they look great, being an e90 owner, I don't like the 1 series wheels on it, I put mv2s on mine with spacers they look great, sell the oners get mv2s.
Aren't the offsets different between the 1 series wheels and 3? The 3 series will always look narrow at the back with the 1 series wheels on it. Same as the wheels are further out on the 1 series, which looks wicked by the way. Hopefully it doesn't rub. Keep an eye on what tyre brand you go for. Michelin might rub as they are more square. Goodyear might not as they are more rounded etc.
Id put the runflats on the 3 series, then get some new Michelins for the rear and keep the other 2 as spares. I suspect they would fit your dads e60 or any other BMW you buy.
On the 1 series wheels belong 225/18 at the rear and 205/18 at the front from factory, I myself have Michelin PS4s in 225 rear and 215 front because the 205 is no longer available. Personaly I like the 1's wheels on the e90, but not really the other way around. 😁 I prefer the 207m wheel on an E87 with M-package 👌
Gives her a nice stance, wheels do so much for a car, hoping to get a set of 763M style for my 130i soon love the look of them,in silver, great to see the 130 getting some love George
Mmmmmmmmm…… Swap them back over. The 130 looked so much better with the OEM wheels & the E90 doesn’t look right with them on it 😬 I’m not a fan of the wheels that were originally on the E90 to be honest, not my cuppa at all. At least there not black though 😂 I don’t get the current black/dark alloy fad 🤷♂️ Good video as always 👍🏻
Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like them then that is all that matters. Perhaps you could try spacers with the original ones on the E90 to see how you feel then. By the way, if you reduce your tyre width by 10mm remember you will only "gain" 5mm on the outside and not 10mm because the other 5mm will be "gained" on the inside of the wheel.
The wheel offset is different on each car ET34 against ET49 and the width of the rim is different too so it will effect how the car handles and turns in. You can bring the offset back on the E90 by using a spacer (I'm not keen on them personally.) On the E87 the rims need to go further in to get the offset right which you can't do. I tried fitting some 3 series rims on my 1 series and it didn't feel right, Love your videos though, and have used the timing chain one twice now. :-)
I would keep the original 208 style if you want to really put those 216 BBS on the 130i. The problem here is that those 216 that came with the 3 series, are 0.5 inches wider in the front tyres, AND they have less offset all around, so they would protur more, that's why they are so off in the front axle. I would try to get the OEM ones that came with the 130i LE, those are the same width and offset as your 208 wheels. I'm so jealous because those 208 are the ones that i want for my own 130i but not a single one came to Colombia with those wheels. Well anyway, cheers.
Looks awesome George, no rubbing at all ? I was looking at these wheels (style 216) as they are the same as 130i Le wheels but more aggressive offsets. Now I have my answer
@@GeorgeAusters M3 lower control arms, it will tuck the tyre in a little more and improve handling significantly. Doesn’t make sense to downgrade the tyre for aesthetics when you could do a mod that improves the handling and has the side benefit of tucking the tyre in a little more.
Those standard wheels are absolute boat anchors, the style 216 are awesome wheels and a chunk lighter and much prettier if sods to clean. They weren’t standard on the 320d; they came on the 320si and the 130LE. I think the offsets were slightly different between the two because mine weren’t that pokey/aggressive. I love them but I’m biased because I have them on my LE! 😂 Fit sone M3 LCA’s and do the camber pin mod and they’ll fit fine.
Not sure if I'm just not used to the look as I've not seen them on a 1 before but I feel like they suit a saloon/touring more. I feel like the 2 sets of alloys belong better as they were but that's just my opinion, was definitely worth trying nonetheless!
I think the aggresive offsets of those wheels look great on the front of the 1 series and think you could even possibly get away with a 5mm spacer on the back to square it up a little more. I think that they look great on the 1 series and with the spacers on the other ones will look fine on the e90.
Think I might need to go slightly smaller tyres on the front like 215/35 as the rub slightly going over bumps but the problem is they don’t make many tyres in that size
oh yeah. The 1 series with 3 series wheels looks so much wider and so much aggressive. I used to have 18 inch alloys from a 3 series on my 120d but I sold them after I sold the car with its original 16 inchers. My 130i still has the wheels that came on it, which are, weirdly enough, 5 series wheels. They look good, but don't have that W I D E B O I stance
I cant believe you didnt get the inside of the bbs wheels all clean and protected before you fitted them on 🤣 They do suit the 130 better as well and id get the widest tyre you can fit on the back ones 😉
Got an E46 17" spare and a jack from an E60 for my E90, like to have a spare and not a too big issue to have tied down in the back. Perhaps not as good in the E87s though.
@@GeorgeAusters I agree, the e90 320d is a standard shitbox compared to the 130i as far as BMW’s go. Id prefer an e82 130i, but still a much nicer car than the 320d either way.

Really like the 320d. I was looking for an M Sport before the Alpina appeared.
I desperately need to get the wheels refurbed on that!
The style 313 rims are the best in my opinion. But they are hard to come by at a decent price.
Style 216 glad to see the spacers I gave you come to use just a shame bolts are different between e and f chassis
Yep and the spacers will be coming soon to a video near you😄
Perfectly legal!
this is a E90 serie, e93 is cabrio.

I really, REALLY prefer the 5 arm rims, and i’m looking for them 3 months in a row annnnd…no were to be found here in Portugal, damn!!
Buy a bloody deep socket! Hate seeing extension bars, especially on torque wrenches 😂 great video as always 👍
I have deep sockets but sometimes it puts the impact wrench too close to the wheel and you risk damaging it

Of course
