Man, on his day, Song was a pleasure to watch in the midfield. He had great vision, a silky smooth first touch, and could really thread the needle with his passing. Quality player.

He was so bad in the beggining, constantly making mistakes and costing us goals and points. But Wenger never gave up on him and in his final seasons with us he was amazing. And then he left and was never the same player again just like so many others.
@@Impacto92yt True. He struggled quite a bit early on at Arsenal. Once he found his confidence, he was quality. It's a shame that he never rediscovered that form after he left.

RVP'S 2011-12 season at arsenal is pure magic

Will the league is way more competitive now. Liverpool, Spurs and Leicester have left us behind. Wenger had solid teams in 2010-11 and 2015-16 seasons which were 2-3 world class signings away from dominating Europe. We should have invested back then.

The occasional battering of Chelsea was always good for the soul - even though for a long time we didn't really compete, it was nice to hammer them on about a quarter of their budget...
a quarter is being generous. For the first 5 years after moving to the Emirates, we were essentially operating in the red every season. How Wenger managed to keep us relevant with some of the players he had to work with is beyond me.

@@tyleru96 yes, a shift in policy meant selling players and not spending much meant we were operating on bare bones - but that was their choice - originally they had a 20 year agreement but chose to pay it off early because it would save the club money. AW has been quoted recently saying the stadium was paid for 100% by player sales. Its annoying and I wish they would have stuck to the original plan.

He was one of our best players. I was always confident he could do something out of nothing. Really broke my heart when he went to United. But I understand him. He needed some trophies we couldn’t give him.
