Jim Morrison and the Doors was the first live concert I attended. It was the spring of '67 (I was just 15) when I saw them as this song was beginning to be played on the radio.
Ed Sullivan didn’t want them saying “higher” ... they did and were banned from the show ... a producer told Jim “you’ll never play the Sullivan show again” and Jim answered “ we just did” lol

I was 14 and that summer my mom encouraged me to find some work, so I called the San Diego Tribune and found out our paperboy was giving up his route. The first Sunday mourning I went to his house and was folding papers in his living room while his mom slept in her bedroom next to us. He put on the Doors and I was surprised his mom didn’t come in to admonish us. That was 1968 and with part of my first months profit, I bought the Doors album. Still love their music to this day. I think Light My Fire is the best introduction to Doors. It was their first hit song and the first song where many of us ever heard of Doors. Also, you did a good job of picking studio version (long, album, version too, not the shorter version that was played on AM radio). More The Doors pls 🤘
This got a lot of radio play so I got a bit burned out on it. But after not hearing it for a
couple decades, I can really appreciate it now. The keyboards in this steal the show.
In 1967 this was a new sound, sort of a new use of musical instruments. The organ does have a carnival sound
Peace Love those smiles!
"This is something you can't interrupt, though."
That right there got you a thumbs up.
I’m so glad y’all are listening to the Doors !
One of the longest bridges in music history like Freebird from Lynyrd Skynyrd and the solos in songs by Cream.
I REALLY recommend "Light My Fire" Cover by Eddie Vedder (From Pearl Jam). He does at great job at the rocknroll hall of fame.
This particular song done by the doors was covered by many… If you ever wanna listen to a good cover of this song check the one down by José Feliciano… Another rabbit hole to go down with his great music
GOOD TUNE....GREAT BAND.
Listen to their full 11 + min version of The End.. off of their debut album.. 🤟🎸😁
As a small child I heard this on the radio. I had the impression Jim Morrison was an old crooner trying to sound cool. Man was I wrong. Great reaction. 👍
Smiling with you.
Jim Morrison called the Lizard King, died at the age of 27 and became part of the club of celebrities who died at that age. Today his tomb is the second most visited in France, with the Eifel tower being the number one tourist attraction
Letsgooo, great band, great song and great video.
Great reaction! The Doors & Jim Morrison are boss. Try Peace Frog, Crystal Ship and Soul Kitchen. Late.
Check out the song "Touch Me" on the Smothers Brothers Show. It's a terrific live performance.
Bro you guys gotta check out L.A. Woman
The first time this song was played on the radio in So California was the first time I smoked Cannabis, life has been fabulous ever since. I sparked up my pipe for this reaction. Thanks
John Densmore was the drummer on that song. One of the greats.
