I found that the Archetype Clean is really good for a clean high head room pedal platform setting. I used that for worship with different stages of overdrive to pretty good effect!
Same, I run it with split path IRs. the tone junky 33 match 30 r121+7b and Worship tutorials G12h30 160 Drives out front, all modulations afterwards. Great sound That and the ch1 matchless on the edge of break up…. Thats the one that sees the most use as of late. I pair that with my jazz master and the Archon with my LP. Tends to hold the bottom end together better.
I built this preset, added a retro reel (no flutter) after the cab and a Jet Pedals Revelation reverb in the loop at the end of the chain instead of the glitz......it is the best pushed clean tone I've ever gotten out of the HX. She's a mix cutter with a TS or rat circuit in front of it, and absolutely enormous when playing by yourself. The most amp in the room sound and feel I've been able to create. I've received numerous compliments on my ac30 tones and this makes them feel like garbage. Thank you so much for the video, some of the concepts you've explored here have opened up my mind and changed the way I build a preset and what limits I put on myself.
Liked, Subscribed, and Commented. I feel like so many of us have just scratched the surface of what some of these modelers can actually do. Thanks for taking the time to be creative and dig deeper than the casual user.
With the Klon enabled it immediately sounded like Eric Johnson "Trademark" to my ears. Nicely done. These are great instructional videos. Much appreciated. And, of course, stellar and tasty playing as always.
I bought an old ampeg head for this reason some years ago, and also because how they sound with fuzz. However it got damaged in transit, and never found a similarly good deal again. But thanks for the idea. I'll try it in the helix later! I use both your eq tricks actively, the low end boost between cab/amp and the tilt for brightness after. Also a graphic at the start of the chain to just have some more control over everything. I also use many York audio IRs and they come with some great mic combinations. Like 421 and a rear mic at the back of the cab. It really gives more low end
Very nice! Never heard of this combo but I have a 70’s SVT and got a J Rocket JMod Archer last month! Gonna hook em up later today! Great tones! Thanks!,
Really lovely. I just picked up a Ceriatone ots 20, and I'm really digging the cleans. I know it's not the SSS, but it is the only experience I have had with a dumble-ish amp. I didn't think anything would beat the fender clean thing but I'm pretty sold.
Wow! Sounds great hey John. The Helix FX unit is so good and so versatile too eh. That's great you share your programming secrets with your YT fans, all appreciated. Will send you an update email. All the best. Cheers, Garzo ;-)
hello johnnathan, have u tried the headrush mx5? would like to hear ur opinion comparing it to line 6 since u've been using line 6 all this while tone wise. thanks!
When I tried to record clean tone with my hx stomp via usb in Logic Pro. The volume is so low (around -40db). Is there any way to fix this problem except adding boost pedal or crank up gain?
Except for Batman, which is your favourite Val Kilmer performance? (Also try experimenting with the Mids on the SVT!)
The Ghost and the Darkness, the Spartan.
Willow (as Madmartigan)
Real Genius 😂
@@tmuka Definitely!
There's only one right answer here: Doc Holliday. I can't believe that I'm the first one to say this. The second is Ice Man (may God rest his soul).
This is the best clean tone I've ever heard Helix produce. It's so sweet and deep and...wow... it's awesome!

Absolutely love a big SSS. Especially when you hit it hard and it wobbles.

I also have an SP compressor in front but it isn't doing much..... Man I can't say enough about this tone. Just plain immersive.
Always enjoy your clean sounds. Please drop this in as well, thanks.

This gets the best clean Tele I've found so far. (With just a few EQ tweaks)
Beautiful John! Sounds a lot like the Lonestar also.

That sound just magical! Thank you for sharing this :-)
Great tones and playing! Also, I dig the super cozy looking hooded sweater you’ve been rocking lately!
As the intro was building iI thought it was going to be a take on High and Dry by radiohead. Great playing as always
Drop, drop, drop, drop... sooooo good.
On my end, only hearing it, I think the sag you added for the sake of playing feel also thickened up the sound pretty nice.
I think also the mid control on the svt is Uber powerful

Gorgeous mountain tops Jonathon!
I get really good guitar tones with the Ampeg SVT Brt. Turn the amp drive down and go. Loving it!
I’d love to see this one in the folder. Great tone
Magical! 🌠🌌 DROP IT IN!
Beautiful tone
I neeeed to try this, sounds sick!
Awesome tone! Thanks for all these patches! My Val Kilmer best performances are probably The Doors and The Saint!

Sounds great, please do drop into folder.
Sure, drop it in the folder, mate. Thanks
drop in!! So clean
Love this tone. Can you put it in the Pod Go folder please?
I won't be able to recreate this exactly with Pod GO, but I may be able to approximate
@@johnnathancordy I'd like that as well although you gave enough info to give it a try on my own. Thanks a
bunch
Wow - some tone (and playing, of course!). If I wanted something like this for the Kemper, what would you recommend?
I think ToneJunkie have an SSS pack
@@johnnathancordy Yeah, they do - bet it only sounds like this when you play it!
This is so good John could you drop the preset into your preset folder please. Cheers

Where do I find the Klon.?
I love huge and jangly guitar sound with a hint of Reverb.
Bonus- the SVT isn’t a CPU hog.
Ooh, yeh it's 22%! But so is the litigator preamp, so combined it's a bit hoggy!!
I'm guessing this won't work on a PodGo?
I can try!
Nice tone. It has a bit too much low end to my taste. But nice try. Thanks
That's sort of the point of the Two Rock SSS and Traditional - they have insane amounts of low end
You’ve got to be kidding
