I cannot imagine a family enduring such an awful event then spending one second of worry on the public morbidity aftermath. Can everyone leave this family alone and let Naomi rest in peace? These records should be sealed for 50 years simply because they are in the public eye.
Unfortunately this is the price and definition of "fame". You can't be a public figure without people being interested in everything about you. Fame is not all it's cracked up to be. This is a prime example.

@@terimillar3769 well we never know what a person is thinking when they are desperate to leave this world. I personally think Naomi knew she was “safe” with Ashley there. Ashley has always seemed to be the “strong daughter” and Wynonna and Naomi had a different relationship as mother and daughter. My mother died from mental illness as well. She knew I would be the one to find her. In some sort of weirdness I find it comforting that she chose ME to find her. I’m learning everyday about mental illness and how much genetics plays a part in it. So more suffering for Naomi.

Why should Judd’s family have more of a right to grieve privately than your family? These people are immensely talented but aren’t special in any other way - they do a job for which the are paid very well.

Ashley Judd said, "Mother used a firearm". That's all I need to hear, all I want to hear. I lost a relative to suicide, he used a firearm as well. I didn't see pictures and didn't want to know details, as I don't want to in the details of Naomi's passing. Respect the family, please. Keep the details about Naomi's death sealed, closed, and private family business.
@Nurse Kitty I agree, my brother was in bad shape before he killed himself. My sister-in-law (his wife) had told me he wasn't the brother I knew. She said that even if I had been around, he had a Dr. Jeckyll ,Mr. Hyde personality. That even if I had been around, I wouldn't have known him. That whether I was there or not, he would still be dead. I had disappeared from the family awhile, because of my own demons and issues, so I wasn't in contact when he died. But even if I had been, it still would have happened. My sister-in-law has pictures of his dead body and his body in the morgue. She never offered to let me see them and I didn't ask or want to see them. I just think that releasing Naomi's matter of death, how she did it, what she did it with, should be family business. Just for me, I don't care much for looking at images of a deceased suicide victim, it brings too many memories of my own brother's suicide I am so sorry your sister's untimely end. My sincere condolences.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Naomi Judd. But I've seen all her videos, and I loved her dearly. I know we would have gotten along very well. She was awesome. Her smile, her laugh, the little quips she used to come up with. She was totally beautiful inside and out. BUT, She's gone now. Let her sweet soul rest in peace. And, give her beautiful daughters enough time to grieve. Imagine how they feel. I know I think about her, and I'm so sad that her light is not in this world anymore. However, I don't need anymore details about it. I get it, they said what happened. I don't need to hear more. And, her daughters certainly don't need to be hounded about this either. I truly am concerned for both sister's and their step father. I hope they all seek out family counseling and individually get help also. Mental Illness is a very tough disease to handle over years that a person or families live through. I wish the entire family well including the grandchildren.
This matter should be closed to the public period. Not because this is a celebrity. Because it is a death by suicide. End this indulgence for the public eyes! This family needs to grieve and start the healing process.

I too lost my grandmother and two cousins to suicide. It's very painful to go through. My late Aunt lost her mother & son the same year. I really don't know how she survived. Mental illness is no joke. It's definitely a disease just like any other.
I think the outlets who requested those records have no regard to the family's privacy and should be ashamed of themselves. The family is grieving enough as it is. Ashely disclosed that it was a firearm and she found her. That's all people need to know. The details are irrelevant. It doesn't matter.

To be honest I didn't think grandmas her age took their life! It's like if you've made it all of these years, why give up now? Plus she had it "all" and had done it all so all she had to do was rest on her laurels or do volunteer work etc. but I guess that shows everybody that depression is real and shouldnt be dismissed! People who do this are not in the right frame of mind.
It's not an age thing. Very young people have committed suicide as well as the elderly.
The elderly think they're a burden on their children and by killing themselves will take that burden away.

We need to talk about suicide in youth suicide is the second leading cause of death in teenager's.
Females between the ages of 46-64 have the highest rate of suicide in the USA 2021-2022. Secondly I would say Young adults and older men. Veterans, people who live in rural areas, sexual and gender minorities, middle-aged adults, and tribal populations may disproportionately experience factors linked to suicide. Undo hardships, violence, PTSD and poverty are disproportionately highest in these groups. They are also groups that are the least likely to get proper psychological & medical treatment. Youth Suicide is a Pandemic right now.1 of my sisters is a HS counselor. She had over 20 teens a week come in top her office very serious about killing themselves and had to help get them admitted to a hospital for an evaluations & call out police & ambulance. It has completely taken a toll on her and even she had to take a leave of absence. It's an epidemic. It shouldn't be. Our psychiatric community is past max capacity staff wise for Veterans, teens, homeless,& minorities. Our medical system is still broken due to big pharma greed. It needs to be fixed. Everyone matters

As humans, we are naturally curious, well, actually downright nosey. I think these poor babies have endured enough. Although curious minds want to know, it’s really not anyones business and I think if the girls want to keep it private that should be honored 100 percent! There is never getting over the loss of a parent. May they find love, comfort and a way to begin to heal.

I can’t remember a time in Ashley’s life when she was traumatized by something. Her sister and her mother were estranged more than they were together and went years without speaking. Mental illness is no joke and either is hepatitis and many of the drugs used to treat mental illness have dramatic effects on the liver. This woman had a long history of suicidal thinking . Let her rest in peace and her daughters grieve in their own way ,

@burgerflipper Info nuts. They even ask for copies of the 911 call. Isn't it enough that Ashley has the fortitude to tell a grieving fan base the truth so it's like not embellished or used for profit.
What's it matter whether she was still alive. What matters is Ashley was there. I look at it this way. Their deep desire to help educate the best way they can. Especially in light of Naomi's lifelong battle to do just that. Education.

I don’t feel that because of their celebrity status they should receive special treatment. With that being said, I feel records of this sort should be a private matter no matter who you are. It’s such a traumatic experience for anyone to live through and for just anyone to rehash it just seems heartless and a painful reminder to the people who are trying to heal.
Amen Sojourner. My 25 year old nephew shot himself in his heart due to depression a great kid. Depression and mental health is so real so many people don't understand. I been living with my grief since "2013". I believe God will except anyone in his heaven. Prayers for all the Judd family and friend's.

News 2 Nashville reported Aug 26 Naomi’s death remains under investigation and case has not been closed. Friday the Autopsy report was released to the Family. And News 2 Nashville stated they will receive the Autopsy Report Monday. The family was not aware the death of Naomi was under investigation when the Police asked them questions. Naomi’s death has not been officially determined Suicide. Research News 2 Nashville for the new report Friday on UA-cam to learn the truth.

My 30 year old son shot himself in 2016 near Christmas. He had 2 baby girls that will grow up never knowing him, so sad. To this day we still dont understand why he did this. I will never get over losing my son that way. So many hearts were broken that day!!!

I absolutely love the Judds. I saw them in 1984. My mother too died at her own hand. Please let them have their privacy concerning Naomi's last hour. I miss my mother every day. If you noticed the day Naomi left us was April 30th. The month of April was when Ashley was born and the 30th day of the month was when Wy was born. She loved her girls and Larry very much. Rest in piece Naomi, you are missed and you did leave us with "Love can build a Bridge".
There had to be something going on behind the scenes. Either that, or she had dementia or some serious illness.
The recent lawsuit regarding Kobe Bryant's death by his wife where she won (as did another survivor-family member) seems like it set a legal precedent for this sort of heartless tabloid fodder/gossipmill dissemination of information.

I believe that it was originally reported that she went out the back door when Ashley went to the door to let in a friend. When they returned to the kitchen, they found that Naomi had gotten in her truck and drove off. Ashley found her in the vehicle a short while later on property. Was that not true/an effort by the family to make it appear as an accident?

She was selfish and self-centered and knew exactly what she was doing and the timing she did it when they were going to get that award. she made it about her and did it in the most unthinkable way of taking her own life to where the family has to clean up the mess. I lost my daughter that's painful enough to take your life but what's that saying to my other children? I don't love you enough to stay? She was filled with self-centered drama. She played so much up on her hep c I had it the recovery rate is phenomenal but yet she made it about appearances books like the only person who had it! I had to work through it. They denied me disability it wasn't considered a illness to the point of not being able to work. She had quality problems. My daughter died because the mental health system failed her. There's a fine line and what they're capable of doing and what they're just not doing. She had a lot of secrets it's obvious it got to her that she was not everything she tried to voice she was. They should let it be known as far as what happened hopefully it can help somebody else

She ask her daughter to stay with her and her mom walks up stairs she don’t hear a gunshot yet when she gets to her mother she’s alive I guess it’s the curiosity for the answers and details and that’s normal to want to know because it’s just not all there yet fill in the blanks
It don't add up. She would have had have to hear a gunshot? It sounds like assisted suicide if they all knew she was going to die and were around her bed to say goodbye then did they not know she had a gun and enough left in her to pull the trigger? Why didn't somebody take it from her? She had a mental illness .who's to say she knew what she was doing? Too many questions and parts left out.
I agree it doesn't make sense. She's shot but alive for 30 minutes. They prayed over her to say goodbye while she was still alive? It's very confusing and could help others dealing with mental illness know where and how to intervene at this stage in depression.
