  • A is for Anti-Rebound Bar (or ARB)

WHAT is Rebound? It’s easiest to think about REBOUND as the REACTION in a collision. The impact and movement of the car seat toward the point of impact is the ACTION, rebounding back into place is the REACTION. Load Legs act on the action (we will touch on those later) and ARBs act on the reaction. An ARB, or other anti-rebound features such as anti-rebound panels or sometimes even cup holders, keep the car seat from moving aggressively back into place. In side-impact collisions, there is also data to back up that anti-rebound bars also limit the side-to-side movement in those collisions. By limiting rebound, you’ll keep your child more contained within the shell of your car seat.
