You just saved me hundreds of dollars with this video. My Escalade died in my garage and it’s one of the only cars that doesn’t have a neutral override. No one could come change it out for me in my garage and towing it was going to be complicated and costly - so I had to do it myself. THANK YOU! Everyone in my life is shocked and thoroughly impressed that I did it. It’s probably one of my greatest accomplishments to date! 😂👍 Thanks again!!
That is awesome 😎. Congratulations on getting your Escalade back on the road.
your neutral override is located in the driver side foot well, behind the right side kick panel. Pull the kick panel off against the center console and theres a bright orange pull chord.
Thank you Sir on your excellent video on battery change out! My 2017 Escalade battery is 5 years, 3 months and the -10 degree temperature that came through here this past weekend took its toll on the OEM battery. I will now be replacing it myself, thanks again.
You're welcome, I'm glad it helped!
Just wanted to say you did a really good job on that video explaining everything in detail. I do appreciate it.
Glad to help 😎
Video worked perfectly on our Escalade! Thank you, brother!
Removing the reservoir bolt makes life much easier to remove the battery. Overall great video.
I didn't think about that, great idea 😎
Thank you for this! I popped the hood and wondered how TF someone gets the battery out. This helped a lot and it turned out not to be too hard to do. And the comment about turning the battery on its side to get it out is pure gold as well.
Glad to help! 😎
BEST VIDEO OUT HERE AND IT WORKS!!! All the other videos i come across show removing the all the battery wires and also the windshield wiper fluid housing. Not the case, I followed this video but turned my battery at an angle and got it out no problem without removing all the other extra stuff
I'm glad it worked out for you. Simple and effective 😎
Looked up how to replace battery for my 2015 baby and your video popped up.Very helpful not my 1st time but my 2nd time to replace it on my baby already had everything removed, but the battery itself. That's the reason I'm here cause I wanted to see how to wiggle out my battery!Thank you will be doing that today when sun comes up.But to be honest what really disappointed me on my 1st battery I replaced on it.1st of all it was BRAND NEW Dec 2021 and it sure wasn't CHEAP I paid $359.00 !!And it DIED like super DEAD cause not even the guy from road assistance was able to boost it!And he used 2 boosters and my baby drained them.I know everything is electrical so for that reason Im CHEAP on the power of my battery😅.My lights DO NOT turn on inside when doors open and when I get off and turn truck off I manually turn my headlights off 😂.And if im gonna sit in my truck I open my door to make sure its not using battery juice & I manually turn my headlight off again.I hope my new battery gives a longer life! Thank you again for your video peace world.
Glad the video helped, I hope you get a battery that lasts. The new vehicles have lots of electrical loads that wear these batteries out.
I watched a couple of videos on battery replacement and they all took more apart than needed. Yours makes sense. Will be replacing the original battery on my 2018 Yukon Denali tomorrow.
Last week I replaced the cam & lifters without dropping the oil pan. Deleted the AFM. Fun project.
Thank you for the feedback. You have been deep in the belly of repairs doing the AFM delete, that's a complex task. Swapping the battery should be a cake walk.
Replaced my battery today in less than 2 min with the help of your video. I stepped up to a 900cca H8 battery that was 1.25" longer but fit.
I removed the metal bar & brace as one unit. Unbolted & moved the antifreeze overflow for easy battery access.
Really great job with the step by step and details such as size of the bolts so I didn’t have to figure it out by trial
I'm glad it helped, thanks for leaving a comment.
Some folks really needed this video….not me but someone def needs to see this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks bro, I hope it helps out 👍🏾
Me! I needed it!!
Best video yet on the battery removal from start to finish...thanks.
Thank you! Glad it helped 😎
Thanks for the advice, just replaced my battery in a 2019 Escalade in the O’reily parking lot… worked out exactly as you said… why are batteries so freaking heavy😂
Awesome! I'm glad to know this helped! The batteries definitely have some weight to them 😂.
Thank you so much for making this video. You really helped me figure it all out. I appreciate you.❤
Glad it was helpful!
AWESOME video. This is very helpful - just saved me a trip to the dealership (time and money). I greatly appreciate you taking the time to create this and share.
Glad it helped put money and time back in your pocket 😎
Thank you for taking the time make this. Very helpful! Exactly like my Escalade, worked well.
Glad it helped!
Appreciate the video. My Escalade is at the dealership right now getting the AC fixed (thank God it’s still under warranty), and they said my battery is bad. They said they need to change it out. NOT TODAY SATAN 😂
I’m buying a remanufactured battery for $50 and replacing it using this video. Beats the heck out of paying a dealership $600+
Thanks!! 👊🏾
Excellent! Glad to help out. 😎
Wow! I knew I did want to go to the dealer. I went to Interstate Battery and with installation cost me $360 with installation. Battery model was MTX-94R/H7. I probably paid more than going to Walmart but my wait from beginning to end was about 20 minutes.
@@erikdlt Interstate has good batteries 😎
Thanks! I’m changing mine today!
You're welcome 😎
Thank you, you saved me about $150
You're welcome 😎
Excellent video.
Thank you
Than you for making this video! It was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, my guy!
Glad to help
Nice instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Appreciate all the details!
No problem, glad to help 😃
Thank you. Good video!
No problem 😎 I'm glad it helped out.
Good lookin out! Glad I landed on this video before changing out my wife’s ‘18 Tahoe battery. Thanks!
Right on! Glad to lend a hand 😎
If you tip the battery on its side it is a little easier to get out. I just found this out, lol.😂
That's good to know, thank you 👍🏾
This comment should be pinned. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for this! It really helped.
Well done! Thanks
Thank you 😎
Thanks for the video!!
You're welcome 👍🏾 glad to help.
Thanks!
Thank you very much.❤
You're welcome 😎
Nice video .. quick question did you use a memory saver ? I heard that cause these vehicles have so much going on electronically disconnecting the battery causing the system to drain will cause some damage when you reconnect . Obviously yours came out fine just wanted a lil reassurance .. thanks in advance 💯💪🏽
Thanks! I did NOT use any memory savings device. I probably had the battery disconnected under two minutes, so I guess it was quick enough. I haven't had any issues.
My Escalade sets the alarm off when I try and pull the battery 🤦♂️
Oh no! Was the vehicle unlocked? I recommend unlocked with the driver and window down or driver door open.
Awesome video! I’m going to try on my 2017 ESV. One question if you don’t mind: what is the recommended torque for tightening the bolts? Thanks!
Thanks
4.5-6 ft/lbs on battley terminals
18-22 ft/lbs on other bolts
well hello handsome! tyfs
Hey Karen ☺️
Can someone please tell me what is that cable with the green connector on the distribution block? You can see it when he secures the block behind the transmission dip stick
Hardest part of this is getting the old battery out and new one in. No way would mine come out the way you showed. You have to literally rotate the battery on its side and then it can (barely) clear the coolant reservoir. Barely.
Otherwise good instructions!
I've had several people report back being able to remove the battery as indicated in my video, saving themselves hundreds of dollars. I'm sorry that you had trouble getting your battery out and back in. There are a couple other components that you can use to make more room, they are held on with. 10mm &13mm bolts. The battery is heavy and can be tough to move around with limited space especially if you aren't tall enough or have long arms.
Thank you for your feedback 😎
@@3Wheels1Block all good. I removed the little L-bracket and even the negative cable strain relief piece. It still only took 30 min. They just put that coolant overflow too close to battery.
@@a1chemist1 yeah, I think because the battery is only replaced every 3-5 years they weren't too concentrated about making is easily accessible like the three previous generations. 😅
@@3Wheels1Block yep. My 08 was easier!
How difficult can a battery swap be anyway 🤷🏾♂️.
What about the vent tube
Are you referring to the venting for the battery?
Do u recommend h7 odessey battery, or the optima 94r or flood river 94r bci group
I have an escalade esv with power sliding steps which i think sucks the battery power out
I've had good success with Optimas, however Odyssey seems superior from what I have read. Here is an article comparing the two.
mycarmakesnoise.com/battery/odyssey-vs-optima-batteries/
Omg the batteries in these are a bitch to change
They aren't the worst out there 😅. Look at the battery replacement on a C4 Corvette 😂
@@3Wheels1Block Oh God I don’t wanna see it , I bet that’s a mthrfkr 😬😬😬😬😬
@@curtispatton2415 basically have to remove the lower body panel to get it out 😂.
@@3Wheels1Block omg man no way are you serious jeeezzzz

Enjoy
Thanks. You nailed it.
You're welcome, I'm glad to help.😎
Thanks!
No problem! Thank you!
Can someone please tell me what is that cable with the green connector on the distribution block? You can see it when he secures the block behind the transmission dip stick
Are you referring to the green connector on the fire wall directly behind the transmission dipstick?
If so, those are the coolant lines for the heater core.
@@3Wheels1Block no its a green connector that connects into the distribution block that leads towards the fire wall. But I don’t know where it goes and why its there
