    I like this. You can even punch up the bounce by adjusting the tangent on the 2nd keyframe to make the approach steeper.

    I am very new to after effects. I have circles that I was looking to do exactly what you are doing however when i scale my items in my project they move in the composition. What am i doing wrong with my comp that is causing this?

    Try this in you scale/position/rotation expression:
    amp = 0.04;
    freq = 3.0;
    decay = 6.0;
    n = 0;
    if (numKeys > 0){
    n = nearestKey(time).index;
    if (key(n).time > time){
    n--;
    }}
    if (n == 0){ t = 0;
    }else{
    t = time - key(n).time;
    }
    if (n > 0 && t < 1){
    v = velocityAtTime(key(n).time - thisComp.frameDuration/10);
    value + v*amp*Math.sin(freq*t*2*Math.PI)/Math.exp(decay*t);
    }else{value}

    hey i having troubles, when I add two keyframes in the graphic editor and I try to move the keyframes, each one split into two mini keyframes and I can only move half of the keyframe, you know why is that?

    Simple and effective but I still prefer using expressions for that.

    • @LeeDanielsART
      @LeeDanielsART  8 років тому +5

      Expressions are great for the relatively advanced, but for an easily editable visual means, the graph editor is a great tool too. ;)

  • @barboradarmova1368
    @barboradarmova1368 5 років тому

    Is there a way how to NOT do it manually? Like a Flex modifier in 3ds max? Something I can adjust parametrically, perhaps? It is not practical to have all your bounces baked into animation.

    • @LeeDanielsART
      @LeeDanielsART  5 років тому

      Barbora Darmová Absolutely, it can be done with ‘Expressions’, but that’s a much longer tut. This is just the basics. ✌️

    Это и так ясно когда я впервые открыл граф эдитор я сделал пружинку... Но надо редактировать не скорость а значение. С помощью пера можно просто нарисовать кривую и кейфреймы там же расставить и усидеть графически как это будет для плавности прыжков... это будет затухающая синусоида... Точнее произведение функции распределения Гаусса на синусоиду... Тогда это будет как в реальности... А если хотите мячик, то надо нижнюю часть отразить наверх...
