Love Bechstein for exactly the reason you mention clarity with enough warmth. I also adore that the higher treble keeps clarity without hardness. Thanks for reviews such a nice instrument. Pros: Everything. Cons: None. Best wishes from George in the UK.
I still want your Treble Test Piece as my ring tone. The "intro" for texts; the "body" for phone calls. I'll be glad to pay for them. I love your originals.
Not ultra premium, just damn good. Perfect for the home pianist. I would buy this piano. Thanks for your honest and fearless presentations they are great guidelines.
Had some trouble getting my review here but there it is. Nice, good sounding piano what despite having some notes out of tune still sounds great. Solid base, nice sparkling treble. And you playing it. Perfect. Thank you for sharing and playing.
who could not love a bechstein?!! always gotta be those people. one of the best mass produced pianos i’ve heard. germany makes THE best pianos in my opinion.
James, I love your playing, you have such a confident touch. I listened to the piano with my eyes closed so I could focus on the sound and yes, It really is a diversified instrument. It isn't really lacking in anything except the extra richness and power needed in a concert situation. It seems to work best at moderate or quiet music. When you said it had a light action, what exactly did you mean because you have mentioned that light isn't always right? :) Cheers, Rik Spector
Such a beautiful brand! Do you know where I can find used bechsteins and Steinways besides like eBay or whatever? They often have used D’s at lower prices, do you know of any other resources I could check to find lowest costing used D’s?
I have got one B175 in my house. Most of my videos are played on them. Did they add the C. to Bechstein Academy pianos too now? Mine only says Bechstein and was bought in 2016. I found that I have to hit the lower notes extra hard to make them stand out enough for my music videos.
Another interesting video. Could you test one day their low cost brand Zimmermann to show us what the Z185 worth ? And maybe too another east european brand Petrof, in the middle prices grand pianos ?
I know someone who are paid to try everypiano on the planet since 30 years, for him the 2 best piano in the world is Steinway B and bechstein B, and just since 2 years Fazioli B F212. after its Bosendorfer 225 but its 3/4
I'm going to have to fly you down to Florida so you can play, review and tell me what You think of the Young Chang G 022940 series piano I bought to play at my church someday.
Any PF fans in the San Diego area: I moved to a boat, ergo I'm giving away my 103 year-old Howard/Baldwin upright baby grand, on casters. It's currently being stored in Oceanside , on O-Side Blvd. You can have it for the cost of moving it. Only thing wrong with it is the high C needs to be replaced. If you're interested, please reply to this comment here. Thanks.
The most important difference are Academy use cheeper mecanics and Concnert bechsteinn use Goldline Renner hammer, but to notice the difference you need to be pro aha
Hi, do you have information on the origin of the academy line, in terms of parts and manufacturing. The price is interesting. Recently they had the Bechstein (no C.) line made in China. I think Chinese pianos can be quite good. But they don't command the same price for various reasons. I am looking for a new piano. I just don't want to pay for something that is advertised as Made in Germany and found out that it's not.
A very nice piano. I would still prefer a Bösendorfer or Fazioli. Lovely to hear Debussy and Satie and the other pieces. It's always nice to hear you playing a piano.
You play these pianos beautifully and thank you so much for sharing and reviewing such amazing instruments.

As always loved your review, your musicality. The language of the universe flows from you.
3:48 Bro, you cant stop there, thats the best part :(
Thank you so much! Happay thanksgiving!!!
Another great review, thank you!. Could you also mention the price range when reviewing new pianos?
Bechstein has a bell-like sound. I believe that's the best way to describe.
I still want your Treble Test Piece as my ring tone. The "intro" for texts; the "body" for phone calls. I'll be glad to pay for them. I love your originals.
When the Minecraft Soundtrack becomes a testpiece for a Bechstein Grand..
Absolutely love it! (Sounds way better than the original too)

Bechstein really is my favourite
James, If you can, visit Stillwerk in Berlin !
A really good piano.

Gymnopédie no.1 by Satie
Thank you!
Lovely sound coming out of that piano !

*Does it come with earphones?*

Is that the A190 or M/P 192
A190, he says it at the beginning.
I'm going to have to fly you down to Florida so you can play, review and tell me what You think of the Young Chang G 022940 series piano I bought to play at my church someday.
It's nice but it doesn't have inverted keys, no z legs and there's no Rhodes piano bass sat on it
I wonder if a Rhodes piano bass would actually pair well with an acoustic piano... might have to play with that someday :P

Nice review, Action is actually very different from C.Bechstein, not as responsive, it is obvious when comparing instruments side by side
A very nice piano.
I would still prefer a Bösendorfer or Fazioli.
Lovely to hear Debussy and Satie and the other pieces.
It's always nice to hear you playing a piano.
Of course, but most people have to settle on a used Kimball, if they're lucky.
Bösendorfer or Fazioli do not produce anything on this price level. I think that the A190 is not far from the Yamaha S3X price level.
