The sparkle in your eyes when you talk about your travels and experiences shows genuine happiness. Your joy in recent vlogs has been palpable. Thanks for taking us along on your travels xx 🥺 I feel like your three trips have shown growth in different areas. Your first trip you got closer to yourself. Your second trip you got closer to family. And your third trip you got closer to understanding your own love language, feelings, etc. 💜
Hi Holly just to let you know the €9 ticket was done mainly to give something back to German citizens post covid, allowing people a financial break and the ability to travel in the country (as well as tourists which of course all in turn helps the economy). The trains were very busy as the uptake on the tickets was higher than expected. Germans are no ruder than other nations on trains. It just so happens that the trains were being used to capacity a lot. Sorry for any negative experiences you had-just writing this to explain! I’m glad you explored my country and all in all had a good time ❤️
Love languages…yes Holly! We can all see what has been happening 😉 and I’m sending positive love vibes your way that whatever is happening it is making you happy! 🥰❤️
Sorry for the rude people in the trains. That was not a normal situation. It was simply too many people in the trains, too many who don't usually take trains and who don't know the "etiquette", and too many in that bargain-hunter mood where they forget how to behave. The 9-Euro ticket was a nice idea but in some cases it was a hot mess. Don't forget you were probably on the main lines, and they were overwhelmed at times...
@@maneskinnnnn7190 This is bullshit. I have lived on this planet for decades and have not had that experience. If you have this experience all the time, you should ask yourself if it's you.
@@Roger-np3wi I don't use trains, im saying in general people can be rude. And yes maybe it is me, I was bullied my whole life since I was a child so I've seen the worst sides of humanity.
@@maneskinnnnn7190 I am sorry for you if you have had such experiences. Believe me, not all people are the way you want to see them. Of course, there are idiots...in every country and in every conceivable situation. But by far the larger part of a country's population is not like that. I usually love to ride the train. But of course I gave that up when the 9 Euro ticket was temporarily introduced. Travel through Germany for a whole month for just 9 euros? It was clear that millions would use it and massively overload the usable trains with their travel bags and suitcases. And of course you can also have bad experiences with annoyed travelers on these overcrowded trains. Otherwise, however, I have only ever had good experiences, especially on trains, and met nice people to talk to. Look at it this way: The whole life is a journey and the final destination is given to everyone. We can choose many stations on this journey ourselves, but unfortunately we have no influence on others. The journey itself, however, we should somehow enjoy, because we do not know when it ends.
I don’t know what the situation is normally like in Germany, but I have a feeling it was because of the €9 ticket and regional trains being super busy!?
For the person asking about getting round in a foreign country; I rely on Google maps on my phone so a good phone data plan is a must: O2 has free roaming in Europe despite Brexit, and Vodafone doesn’t charge for the first 25GB in Europe. This is what I learned going to Santorini with my mum a couple of weeks ago (my mum is on O2, I’m on Vodafone). Outside of Europe (so when I was in Thailand back in the day), good old map and some directions from someone bilingual will help, google maps as a back up (there’s cheap phone plans in Thailand)
I literally was so close to quitting my job because of the 9 euro ticket 😂 I drive to work by train everyday which takes me about 1 hour, which is usually totally fine and I find it rather relaxing. But those 3 months were absolute hell, you'd never get a seat, sometimes there wasn't even enough room to stand, people were always arguing over stupid tiny things, and the trains were almost always late because at every station people tried to get onto the already completely full train and then the doors wouldn't close... If I hadn't known it'd only be for 3 months, I would have rather quit my job. Then I went to travel in the UK for a few weeks in August/September and oh my god - it was such a difference with people standing back when the train arrives and waiting for someone else to enter the train first - rather than elbowing your way to the front like all those weeks before in Germany😅 That reminded me that there was a "normal" way and it doesn't have to be like this with the arguments, the shouting and the mistrust among people, that's all so unnecessary and gives everyone so much anxiety!!
I don’t mind a mixed dorm. I’ve chatted to a variety of people in them and most of the lads are lovely; they’re there same reason as me, travelling on a budget

I was just telling a friend about how female toilets NEED TO HAVE a sink inside the cubicle, that's not a kind request, people might need water for whatever reason! My solution is to always have a bottle of water with me so that I could use it to at least rinse the cup, and then wash my hands in the sinks outside... Shouldn't be that hard, we shouldn't need to be organized or prepared, but that did work
Awww talk more of the love languages and all that stuff when you feel ready or never 😌 just enjoy those process, and im so proud of you 💕even it is a weird para social felling hehe, I feel like you're like a little sister but a wise one 🥲
Holly, I would like to know how I can travel safely alone without being scammed and without spending too much money because I was scammed three times in Mexico with the salesman selling excursions at the Cancun airport, with the guys charging over $11,000 on jewelry in Isla Mujeres, and the guy charging me over $14,000 on creams which I did not want and they were forcing me to pressure buy which I did not want.
Thanks for sharing this 😊 btw, I do think the 9€ ticket is to blame for some of the situations you mentioned. I found that suddenly EVERYONE was using trains, including lots of people who have apparently never been on a train before. You won't believe the stuff I've seen and heard throughout the past 3 months. So yeah... This, and the fact that Germans can be selfish and angry about stuff, yayy, stereotypes 😅
The issue with people not letting you off the train, is a pretty normal thing over here, sadly. It isn't just the 9Euro Ticket, Germans just do not get it. My whole life I always got into fights with other Germans cause they would block the doors and are just too ignorant to make some space. They even push disabled people or peope with injuries around just to be the first to get on the train. :((
Really? In my experience, it is the exact opposite. Maybe there are regional differences? Especially with trams and S-Bahn im my city, people always make way and they teach their children to let people off first etc. I witness this regularly...
I don't know where you live in Germany, but I have never seen the kind of behavior you describe, not in the north, nor in the south-west, the regions where I often take the trains. Especially not with disabled people who are treated with respect by most people. Stupid people exist everywhere, but this is NOT the general behavior. Unfortunately, the 9-euro ticket got a lot of prols out into the trains who usually terrorize the roads. That's why I've been avoiding trains since June as much as I could.
I have severe OCD. its taken over my life recently, I constantly have obsessive intrusive thoughts and am constantly having to try and get rid of them by doing mental compulsions. its hell!! I'm getting ERP CBT soon hopefully, I am on the waiting list.
@@thenoobalmighty8790 thats not ocd. OCD is a severe disorder that has completely destroyed my life and lives of many sufferers. I have constant (24/7) distressing thoughts in my head surrounding one main obsession that convince me its real, I can't stop these thoughts no matter how hard I try by performing mental compulsions and rituals such as repeating the same sentence over and over which my brain then stops me comprehending the words so I have to try and right them out over and over until I get the words to register in my brain and the compulsions to 'click' which is getting the compulsion right, which you can't stop until you do, which can take hours, I sometimes spend 4 hours every morning repeating the same sentence in my head or writing and rewriting the same word or number trying to 'get it right' to try and cancel out the thoughts and prevent the obsession from being 'real'. These obsessions usually revolve around the most disturbing and distressing themes, some even unspeakable. And even if I do eventually get it right, straight away another doubt comes in my mind where I have to work the whole thing out again to get rid of the new doubt. Then when I am not doing compulsions I am bombarded with distressing thoughts and images that won't stop and make me unable to focus on anything else or enjoy anything or be present, I am constantly caught up in my own mind in a cycle of compulsions and obsessions, not able to enjoy anything, its like a cloud over my head also that my obsession is real (ocd makes its seem so real) which makes me feel also constantly anxious and panicky. This disorder has robbed me of my life so far and my ability to enjoy anything and has filled me with a constant feeling of anxiety, panic and dread, the fear of my own mind too afraid to think, afraid to be awake and afraid to sleep as the obsession is also in my dreams. I wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy.
Holly, the amount spent on food seems soooo low taking into consideration that you were eating out not cooking indoors. how many days does the food cost correspond to?
I was cooking food a lot myself to be honest, which is a lot cheaper, but I think I show more of me eating out in the vlogs than cooking just because the different 🙈
@@HollyGabrielle fiouuuuu, this is reassuring ...because I have concurrent cost data re solo life in Thessaloniki (no travel, simply staying in one's flat) and I was super scared to see that some costs were unexpectedly high. Buying fruit, veg and eggs for 1 person living in their own flat with easy access to all utensils and spices, sauces etc came to 166 euros and I almost freaked out....I was super cautious and buying specific items each day such as goat milk, one avocado, two tomatoes and 1 peach. By the way, I often already had some of the key ingredients such as lentils, sauce, pasta etc....Based on my data, I have no option to use the local open market and only buy very few organic items...
